I really enjoyed Roy Dotrice's ASOIAF audiobooks so I just post snippets of some of my favourite moments.
Blood and Cheese || HOTD || Audiobook
Blood and Cheese(House of the Dragon) as it happened in the books. The brutality of ASOIAF in evidence.
Read by Roy Dotrice(AI).
PS. Trying to bring out the best voice of Roy so that we can relive the chapters as he would have read.

Unlike in the show where hatred between factions became the cause of Jon Snow's death, the books portray his death as an event done without any plan or thought. Bowen Marsh has tears in his eyes when he stabs Jon. Read by Roy Dotrice A Dance with Dragons.

The tussle of power between father and daughter seems to be a recurring theme. Just as King Viserys and Rhaenyra in House of the Dragon, Arianne and Doran Martell dispute with Arianne fearing that she would be overlooked for her brother in her birthright. Doran expresses House Martell's desire of justice, vengeance through fire and blood. Read by Roy Dotrice A Feast for Crows

Is this is from real book written by grrm
Music is too loud. I can barely make out the words.
Why TF was this not on the show!??? The production team, did they not realise how significant this part of the story is? 😳
Bit Overkill
I've been listening to the book's on U Tube by David Reads asoiaf his voices are great I did listen to Royce Detrice on audible but honestly didn't like " RIP"
The music is too loud and unnecessary.
“Cruel as laughter”
I remember seeing Jaime's name as a chapter header for the first time. I never thought I would grow to like him so much. He's easily my favorite character.
Reading all this, can you really blame Lady Stoneheart?
"PUH-TIRE". Actually had to pause and see if i was still on the right video.
jon fans seething lmaoo

People defending the scene of the show bruh The choice in the show is DUMB AF with no purpose The death is censour and the cherry on the top is Alicent fucking Cole i cant take serious but laugh And the scene wasnt difficult at all, is quick in fact
Am listening to the audio books now would be so much better if they had backround music like this😂
Hearing Roy Dotrice reading these brings back memories. I will miss his contribution to this book series.
Cersei stupidity in the book vs Cersei "genius" in the show Not shit the 4 last seasons are garbage
Jamie could never get the honor from the old guard - lmfao he deserves the "you ain't sh*t" attitude tbh
He saved a city of approximately half-a-million. What did the old guard ever do?
@ They honored their oaths
@@DibbzTV That doesn't automatically mean they're good people. And even if it did, nothing the Blackfish and others have done measures up to Jaime saving King's Landing.
@ dude. Jamie is my all time fav fictional character. I’m well aware of the dynamics. But still, he broke his oath in a world where oaths are taken very seriously
I'm glad people aren't so wowed by his actions in King's Landing. The only reason he joined the Kingsguard was to screw Cersei. From the beginning, he had no plans to honor his oaths. He truly is a man with 'shit for honor'.
Damn, the show did a good job with this scene but the book does such a good job at immersing you into the world of madness that must occur within a court before a siege. Not just that the people know they will all die within a week but that it's the end of a dynasty and kingdom. It's like an account of the fall of Berlin, the way that the world is crumbling around them and they just want to take as many people with them as possible
Every time I hear this especially the end I'm like "Jesus' what a brutal tale
The way Dotrice tells these stories, you'd swear you were in a tavern listening to an old man by the fire telling it like history. A damn shame the books never finished in time for him to tell the whole story. RIP good sir. Would it be possible to upload more samples from other books? Like the House of the Undying or even the first prologue with the introduction of the white walkers?
I was in love with Catelyn
And that is why Jaime is the goat.
I didn't read the books, just watched the show. It sounds like at this point in the books Robb and the River Lords still believed Joffrey was the true king and were rebelling against him for what he did to Ned Stark. Were they not aware yet of why Ned opposed Joffrey, that Cerseis children were bastards? I want to read the books, but I'm holding out starting the series until GRRM hopefully finishes the last 2 books. Or if he dies before finishing, hopefully another author will be trusted to carry on and finish the book series. I've heard a few clips of these audiobooks, and i think i might listen to them instead.
Another great narration ❤
end of “the watcher” a Dance of dragons. Ppl need to understand the Martin’s dornish plot lines. Ppl only know d&d’s
argh this video is so good but the music is wayyy too loud
If this chapter was written for ADWD it would be 36 minutes, include a lengthy description of the table, three paragraphs describing Lord Blackwood's armor, and multiple pages dedicated to the food.
Robb was dumb to just break his oath, and then have the nerve to think Lord Walder would tolerate such a slight and not do anything about it. Really? They already establish Walder Frey as a prideful, envious spiteful man, and they for real thought he would forgive Robb breaking his oath. SMH. Catlyn mentions time and time how Angry and spit full Walder Frey is, and all of a sudden, they think he would eat Robb's crap and join the losing cause again. honestly asking for a new deal(Edmure and a Frey) after breaking the first(Robb and a Frey) is an even bigger insult. That's like making a deal to pay 3,000 dollars later for a service, then breaking said deal, then trying to say "I already gave 3,000 dollars away, but anyways, lets start the deal all over, you do the same service, but I pay you 1,000 dollars upfront." I'm sorry, Red Wedding should have been seen coming from a mile away. The Northmen had smooth brains to trust Frey.
All the details makes the scene more obvious The bad musicians and the cheap dinner
@@Morfe02 The bad food was initially seen as Walder just being petty, as was expected lol. But I do agree, they were fools not to notice. The only thing in the north favour for thinking their safe is Roose Boltons declaration that he holds two Frey grandsons.
Please keep uploading more of these. They're wonderful
With that one shot, Tyrion destroyed what Tywin prized most: his legacy. Tywin knew, in that final moment, what his legacy would be. To the common people, he wouldn’t be remembered for his military achievements, or his long reign as Hand of the King. No, all he would be remembered for was being killed on the privy by his own dwarf son by being shot in the groin. A humiliating end and the perfect punishment for Tywin.
One of the few moments where the scene from the show is better in the book
I fucking hate how how a letter signed by Ramsey has somehow turned into a mystery on who wrote it
George established a pattern with how he describes Ramsay's letters throughout the series, which this letter doesn't follow, from writing to the seal. The word bastard is also not something Ramsay is fond of. The letter goes into a great deal of detail about Mance and his spearwives but conspicuously little about anything else. Ultimately it's up to George in Winds to decide who wrote it, but it seems quite clear that he wants the authorship of the letter to be ambiguous. I suspect it was Mance who wrote it.

Jon should be ned and ashara daynes son Not some Targaryen The real twist should've been Elia's hidden third child who was a Targaryen
And this will be their last meeting because Martin will never finish the books.
I’ve always wondered how many show only fans are unaware Tyrion became a huge asshole in the books after ASOS
Catelyn from the book is one of my favorite literary characters of all time. She’s up there with Jon and Jaime for me. She gets a lot of unfair hate for being brave, strong willed and possessing agency. She makes a lot of mistakes but so do all of martins characters and she always does what she feels is right.
Any reason for not using Simon Vance's version? Why AI?
Copyright?
Clive Russel portrayed Blackfish so well that when you read the book or listen to audiobooks, its hard not to see as Blackfish himself.
Who dafuq is “Puh-Tire”??? 😂
That is George R.R. Martins original name for Littlefinger
"War... War never changes."
Damn. You left out the real ending. “It was a war, though. That it was.”
Only George can come up lines like these "Lord Tywin Lannister didn't in the end shit gold"
Great speech. When I got to that part in the books, I was stunned to find that he never crossed paths with The Hound and this wasn't said to him.
Reread the description of the other brothers on the isle you may find someone who sounds familiar
Love is the ultimate duty
Cat was arguably the biggest p.o.s. in the books. Even rivaling Little Finger
I don't like this version of Shae's death, seems too helpless and pleading.
That was the point. She was pretty innocent here and just a girl being passed around by powerful people to act as a pawn. Tyrion killed her in cold blood.
@@Mankepanke the show handled it better. she had some say in her own destiny, she used sex as her weapon, she was scorned and got even.
Rob was a great character.
This woman is bitter as f*ck. She favoured Theon throughout their childhood and look how that bit her in the ass
god why the title? you literally spoiled it for me im in the middle of my first Feast read
To be fair the book is like 13 years old
