    When who ever it was associated with harley davidson, in how ever long it took to think that the harley davidson bike itself needed a change up due to what ever possible low market sales, cause I do remember that given video, I'm glad the engineers research department took the time to give harley davidson pan america a humongous make over with the computer technology and the motor redesign, from all the videos I've seen, I would say harley davidson pan america research division knocked it out of the ballpark,,, 1,000,000 %, cause sometimes traditions do get adjusted or changed up, this is a known fact

    I wish for once someone would make a real HONEST review. The bike is terrible to ride. The front end has all kinds of rattling, the throttle response is jerky to the point where you get worn out just tryjng to control it. For the money, it's a terrible bike. Honda tried to make a dual sport that had motocross power and capabilities, and they FAILED. Terrible bike. There's an honest review. I own a 2022 crf450rl. Hate it.

Going for a new rear skin and 10,000 mile service this coming Saturday. If there isnt 25 to 30,000 on it by the end of this year shame on me. I love this bike. Its number 51 in 51 years of riding. Definitely one of my most favorite.

    • @WetBananaMike
      @WetBananaMike Рік тому

      They were ok. Comparable to the longevity of the 606’s in mileage. Depending on the terrain, I honestly think my Trackmaster 2’s we an all around better tire. I say that while comparing price, longevity, and street characteristics. All knobby tires feel the same to a degree on the street. I could almost buy a set of Trackmaster tires for the cost of just 1 of the EN91’s. They were excellent off road, but I don’t know if they were twice as good.

    I really dislike this motorcycle, mainly because the engine looks fake, like a toy engine on a plastic toy motorbike. It doesn't matter how well it goes in 'reality', the illusion of globe trotting , or pan Am trotting is spoiled. Matt Laidlaw is wrong, again. Buy it, realise it's not a BMW, and get rid.

      Well if you into “slow and loud chrome”, by all means buy a slow and loud bike. I prefer to ride aggressively regardless of the “look”. Every bike has its place. My Pan Am with over 22k on it with minor issues, says that I’m very happy for not buying a BMW. As a side note, it’s spelled “realize” not with an “s”. Not being a dick, just being an educator.

    • @WetBananaMike
      @WetBananaMike Рік тому

      Holy crap I can’t remember!! Pretty sure you have to keep tension on the cable at the lever so the cable doesn’t fall out of the ramp. What ever happend to the full review? Thinking about doing this, I do highway on my 883 and its just a bit too buzzy around 65-70, but I also don't want to mess with a speedo being off. How do you feel about this 5 years later??? How did you feel about it then? I see you say it dropped you about 450 rpm, how was your speedo? How was your torque affected? As I understand it, this doesnt affect the best part about the 883 (the spunk), like a bigger final gear does.

    • @WetBananaMike
      @WetBananaMike 2 роки тому

      For starters, thank you for this question! It takes higher revs leaving a light, but it gives you a longer first gear. It was way better after the 1250 conversion, but it did work with the 883. After taking off from a stop, it didn’t really feel any different than with the stock primary. I zero change to my speedometer because the difference was the teeth on the primary sprocket, not the pick-up for the sensor. It basically took away the buzz, and made the bike more usable for me. When I did the 1250, I could’ve changed the sprocket, and had even more gear but I never felt I needed it. It’s a great upgrade for someone whom want to stretch their legs on the highway, but doesn’t want to invest in a stock 1200 Sporty.

    • @jordongee2347
      @jordongee2347 2 роки тому

      @@WetBananaMikeOK, that's good news, I picked up the combo (alternator and sprocket/ chain) for 50 bucks, figured worst case I've spent more on worse. I am planning the 1275 hammer kit in the near future as well. I was more worried the gearing for a larger engine would leave the 883 feeling too sluggish while I wait for the 1275 kit. I did pick up some stock 1200 heads, which hammer said would get me from the 83ish hp/tq with the stock 883 heads to around 98ish hp/tq. I suppose if you didn't feel too much low end loss from the 883 and this configuration, I think I'll be just fine. I take a couple quick runs down the highway to and from work and 65 feels like the bike is just running way high (of course I don't have a tach, but I just ordered one today), but it just feels, like everyone with a 5 speed around that highway mark I really need an extra gear. I did read that this would be the way to go for keeping speedo accurate also, so sounds like I should be pleased with this then. Thanks for you video pointing me here.

      My friend Reggie has a DRZ/SM. He loves his bike, but the CRF is definitely more off-road capable. Every motorcycle has its own specific usage. I consider a DRZ, to be the KLR650’s more capable and fun sized second cousin. Sure there’s a hefty price tag, sure you have short oil intervals, but there is absolutely no way in hell a DRZ could every come close to the performance of the CRF. That is a fact.

    Boomer Sooner! I've had 10 or so Hondas since graduating from OU in '87. XRs and CRs. The Navy forced me to ride them everywhere from Florida and Hawaii to California, Texas and Arizona (where I currently live). They're indestructible and I'm certain all my former Hondas are still out there pushing the earth. I currently ride a F800GSA and am waiting for the local shop to get a 450RL so I can chop some broccoli in the tighter stuff here in southern AZ. Ignoring how expensive they've gotten (I bought a XR650R in 2000 for $5600, pricey compared to my '93 CR500R for $3600), Honda builds durability into every bike. Sure, the KTM clan (Husky, Gas Gas, KTM, yada yada) builds a better bike out of the box, but they become relics when a Honda is just getting its seasoning. You've gat a great bike.
