18 horse. So funny that something so big is that weak compared to my lawntractor. Oh wait that this over a hundred years old and i can almost guarantee it still runs. I just had to replace the 1979 onan in my 1986 John Deere garden tractor cause the onan was wore out with new engine ( not worth rebuilding as not original) other one i just bought i hope lives for a bit before needing rebuild. ( original)😊

Our friend LR has passed some time back and his family sold his prized engine. A rare, The Fairbanks Company tagged Bates & Edmonds 18hp Model B. This is not a Fairbanks Morse engine like most think. The thing I love about this build is that, while it is cobbled together out of a bunch of bits, everything is so thought out and competently done that doesn't look like it. You could just about pass it off as some bizarro prototype that never made it to the market.
