A bit rare mate, I always grin when you show off how little you pay for kit lol. Nice video mate, always good to document solid kit especially rare stuff

As an American, I'm a huge fan of our Woodland M81 but the British DPM Camouflage is my number 2 favorite pattern!! Hands down!!! I'm also a huge fan of ALL of the belt kit the British have developed from the 58 Pattern to modern day!!! Outstanding shelter kit!!

Thanks the older camouflage patterns like woodland, dpm and flecktarn are still great choices..not a fan of the current mtp..

I believe this was based on the old vango force 10, and would have had an inner tent too originally mate- nice find

We have just bought a Conquest Commando Mk 1 in green (not dpm) to add to our collection. Hence finding your video. They were made by a sailmaking firm in Fareham, Hampshire, Continental Manufacturing and Wholesale, who preceded Vango as tent makers. In fact the Force 10, made by Vango, was a slightly modified design of the Conquest Medina, made under license or similar arrangement. Vango and Conquest were sold in competition to each other (we bought a Medina Lightweight new in 1980). CMW must have had a significant supply contract with the army and lots of their products have in recent years been sold off, back into the civilian market. The most obvious external difference between the Medina and the Force Ten is the side guys, Conquest had a 3 into one guy arrangement either side, while Vango adopted just one single guy.

    Good stuff mate!
Yeah I can't seem to find much on the manufacturer, my guess is it was an either subcontractor with a small manufacturing contract, or it was a civilian/ commercial company that didn't last very long in the market (or was bought by another company). Very interesting nonetheless.

Looking at the label mitch I'd say it's a commercially made item, as most labels at the time ( even trails kit was usually white ) was in from 82 until 85 and don't remember any issue kit like that. Maybe a special for the Mountain and Artic boys or the sneaky beaky squad in flippers but for us plain old bootnecks 👎.
Not to say it wasn't a special purchase item that one of the lads had knocked up. Just normally the powers that be don't label stuff with words like Commando or Special Forces just incase they got nabbed behind the lines. But again im going back nearly 40 years now so things might of changed ?
There was a commercial company called Rader that used to make bivi bags and one offs.
It looks like an SASS creation except there label were green.
Anyway hope someone can shed more light on it for you. But nice score though especially for 15 of the Kings shiney pounds.
    Nice one Mitch.
    ATB Rob 😊👍

@@vikingmitch4049 yeah same here mate, and besides they'd have their name on the label. It's definitely a mystery bit of kit. Good score though no mistake. Might even of been " 😉borrowed" off of another unit, we was always liberating interesting bits of buckshee kit and equipment when no one was looking lol. Shame SASS aren't about now, think the introduction of plce kind of put paid to the need for most squaddies to buy their own webbing pouches, kit carry smocks and other objayda bits of kit.
I still own one of their Recce smocks, best bit of kit I ever bought. And still going strong all these years later, shame same can't be said of its owner 🤣
      Be lucky mate 👍

No surprise this system wasn’t kept, you have no view of your surroundings. Excellent for hunkering down in poor conditions though.
