Ducati Performance, 'old style' (Conti) megafone silencers (DP part number 960058AAA) for my 1999 monster 900s (last and best of the carb monsters as it has the SS motor like the first few m900 years but with some upgrades like the floating rear calliper, lots of carbon fibre and it did have gold line fully floating cast iron discs like the 888 etc but I've replaced those now). I hoped the Cont...

CaliSportia fast road test part 2, 1977 Moto Guzzi t3 California with V11 sport lemans motor.

Since installing the 'Tonti-fied' sport motor, I've added good used floating front brake discs on alloy carriers for a great saving in un-sprung and reciprocating weight compared to the original one piece cast iron Brembo discs, and the HH sintered pads have now bedded nicely into them. So this is a test of the new 90 hp motor and the new brakes under more challenging conditions.

Start 5 of the Moto Guzzi Calisportia.

Start 5 of the Calisportia hotrod. When I ran the bike during start 4, it was noticeable that the revs were a bit slow to drop. I was aware of it at the time and and I was sure it was only because I was running the lightest possible springs in the carbs (Dellorto part 8550) which were fine before with the old small valve, low compression, 844 motor, but that they were not strong enough with the...

Sounds great looks like a diode has gone in the alternator causing it to come back on, I had the same thing happen with two Cortinas although I'm sure since this video was uploaded its been fixed now lol
What is this engine?
ford essex 3.0 v6, from a 3.0s capri
@@odysseusdrakos2008 with a standard mk2 2.0pinto engine, can it do this speed or how much can it do???
@@Alim_usta the pinto was not standard in the mk1, it came in the mk2, but in a mk2 with a 2.0 pinto and the right gearing a transit could do 100mph but the pinto would be working harder than the essex, the essex does it easy.
That's bloody gorgeous!
thanks, it's the same bike you'll see in others of my videos here, but now with the v11 sport motor :-)

I've a t3 fb that I'm putting 1000 jugs & pistons on and thinking about 36s.
if you can find a good pair, do it.
Do they all have noisy valve trains?
they should do, if they are quiet it means the rocker to pushrod gaps are too close, there should be tappet noise.
Sounds great.
Sound is very good, and wich black coils are used on this lovely Guzzi, my Guzzi is a 850 LeMans 2 1980 and I search for new coils and nothing good find ?
they are some second hand ones that came from an aprilia rsv1000 and work just right with the Guzzi on points, giving around 3.4 ohms
That did sound good for a first start. No doubt the care you took to oil the valve drivetrain generously all helped, well done! Do you still have it and if so, have you done much else?
yes still have it, use it regularly, swapped the exhaust system for stainless and fitted stainless conti replica silencers, also fitted and tuned mk1 lemans carbs and manifolds, dellorto phf36s, and a quick action single cable twist grip with a splitter under the tank. goes very well now. though i have a v11 sport motor lined up for it which should make it go even better!
Slowworms, mate. Technically, they are "legless lizards". Lovely creatures.Lucky you!
I know, my boy told me what they were as soon as i showed him 🙂 and yes very beautiful. I hadn't a clue, for all i knew they could have been vipers!
@@odysseusdrakos2008 clever boy. they don't even have teeth, I think. but they have a habit of emptying their bowels on you if handled - and losing their tails if frightened, so gently gently (o:
i need 3.0 v6 transit specs. could you possibly send me a picture of the register extract? it is enough for me that it shows the brand, model, power and weight. I have a 2.4 diesel engine in my mk1 transit and I would like to replace it with a more efficient gasoline engine. That's why I need the technical data of the most powerful version of the model series, so that I can get it street legal
The most powerful standard transits were supplied by ford with the essex V6 for use as ambulances here in the uk. We do not have "register extracts" here in the uk. All our reg docs have is engine and chassis numbers
mine was not original, started as 2.0 v4, the v6 in there now is from a Capri 3.0s with a weber carb & tubular exhaust manifolds.
Brilliant!! Love Guzzi’s!
thanks, me too 🙂
Nice
I’ve got a no choke Holley double pumper on my 5.0 and I have trouble keeping the engine from stalling when starting but once it gets a some temperature it’s smooth.
Better than any BMW of same era.
I have a 390 cfm Holley on my AMC Rambler 327. It's basically a 4160 converted to a 4150.
not quite, the standard 4160 (8007) has vacuum secondaries and only accelerator pump on primaries, this is a genuine double pumper with mechanical secondaries.
i will try this 390 carb , on my 4.5 litre . 1966 Plymouth 273 ,equipped with 1.88in 1.60ex , closed chamber head & Edelbrock LD4B
if you can find one, the double pumper version is pretty rare, the regular 4160 with vacuum secondaries is still a good carb.
As far as I know that's a mating ritual in tortoises

Slow worms, Ion. Like all our wildlife, becoming scarce. Treasure them.
Yes, my boy knows quite a bit about reptiles, a lot more than me anyway, and looked up slow worms to show me, had never seen one before, beautiful things.

So cute!
Aw, such a happy chappy.
sure they all do that
What’s done to the motor sweet van man
was a capri 3.0s motor with skimmed heads and a weber 38dgas carb with all choke parts removed for better flow and a pair of 3 into 1 header pipes going into a short home made side exit exhaust system.
LC4 , i love it ...

yes
Seeing the moving engine parts is just so cool! Have you done a lot of miles on it? Has it been reliable? I've heard of a lot of electrical problems on them, did you also experience those?
hi, the bike has been 100% reliable in the years i have had it except for normal wear, from use, i had to change the clutch friction plates which only cost about £70 and took about 2 minutes to swap over. and i had to put new brushes in the starter motor, the new brush kit was only about £25 but it was a hell of a job to get the starter motor off, a hell of a job to get it back together again with the new brushes installed and a hell of a job to refit the starter motor, horrible job but hopefully that will be it now for another 60,000 miles. absolutely love the bike.
An 8007 with center hung floats? Did you rob those off another model?
yes i took the float bowls from a more modern street avenger 570 carb
Sweet revenge, eh? And how is it that those who play their music so loud as to wake you up, or keep you up, never have decent taste in music? ((o;
it wouldn't have mattered what the music was at 5am, it could have been elvis, or led zep or red hot chilli peppers or white stripes or muddy waters or johnny cash or tom grennan or reef... could have been absolutely anyone i like and it would have had me fuming at 5am!
Scruffy is also my preferred look and for my bike, also 😁
That is sounding a lot better really nice snap
cheers, looking forward to getting settled so i can continue where i left off.
Nice job. Crisp start, and straight into a happy tickover. All you need now is a frame, some wheels, a tank and perhaps a seat?
got most of what i need to build a nice bike around the motor, only thing i don't have is a really good swing arm, i'd like something that can take a wide tyre, at least 160/60x17, and preferably a floating drive box, so magni, radical or home made, but that will be slow and expensive, i might try a cali 1100ev one for the short term .
good luck. you just know some Guzzisti has what you need in their hoard, but ehhh giving stuff away from that hoard is a bit painful for Guzzisti!
She is sounding better every time. What a wonderful roar. Almost idling, way to go. Can't wait for the next one.
woohoo! On Any Sunday (o;

Hi...is that a single filter between both carbs and if so what jets are installed ? Cheers,Mike.
was twin k&n filters but now running open bell mouths on bigger dellorto phf36mm pumper carbs. the jetting i used on the vhb30s was 51 idle/130 main.
