Thank you so much for watching 💜 I heard good reviews about Jackson’s art, no wonder it is made by Sennelier. White Nights does have cobalt blue (508) with PB28. I don’t have granulating paints in tubes by White Nights. However, I have them in Van Gogh. When it comes to granulation I prefer pans, because I noticed that pigments get separated in tubes, especially when it is mixed with PBk11. This is my experience with Van Gogh watercolour paints. I do still need to try granulation tube paints by White Nights. I feel they will also get separated. As for normal and nonmixed granulating paints, I like both tubes and pans. Pans are great for mobility. The issue I have with White Night granulating pans is they take a very long time to dry, they might not even completely dry at all because of the climate that I live in. Someone in the comments recommended I place them in the fridge.

@ thank you for your reply. I guess I was talking about the brand rather than only granulating paints. Refrigeration sounds like a good idea for super soft ones. I don’t know if white nights makes granulating paints in tubes but I saw before they had some of their regular paint in tubes. I will have to see if I can find review on UA-cam. Yes I noticed white night stay softer but I prefer that over hard ones like winsor and newton and Holbein although I still have favorites in all those brands

@ also glad to know white nights has a cobalt blue pb 28. I hope that is the only pigment in it I will try to find it. Pay day is soon lol

You are more than welcome 💜 So far I’m satisfied with White Nights tubes, however, I have seen some reviews of people complaining, that they had only half of the tube filled. I still have unopened tubes, will have to film when opening those. I guess I wouldn’t feel that bad because I paid almost the original price. My humble advice, you need to cross-check their original price with a source where you are going to get them. For example, they are way overpriced on Amazon.ae. They are good paints if you get them at a decent price. I have not tried W&N and Holbein, so I can’t compare them with White Nights. Do you have their Cobalt blue? In White Nights the Cobalt Blue in the pan is quite challenging to activate. You have got to wet it and wait a few minutes before you can start using it. So I guess a tube option for this would be better. Also, Ochre Light PY43. If I’m not mistaken, these are natural pigments. I prefer the synthetic ochre which is PY42 because it is just easy to activate. Well, I guess it depends on the preference of each person 😊 Good luck with getting new paints 🍀 and have fun with them!

Artist’s grade paints and mediums can be toxic and can cause allergic reactions. These can be harmful if goes into our blood system through cuts or if inhaled. As adults, we would know how to handle such stuff, unlike youngsters. I hope this clarifies the reasoning behind the disclaimer.

Thanks so much for watching 🤗💜 I am so happy this was useful. You have got to try it, it is interesting colouring using watercolour, but also unpredictable. First you might wanna try it on the test page or the last page of a colouring book. Not all colouring books have a paper that can tolerate water. In my experience, Johanna Basford’s colouring books like World of Flowers UK edition(and other books with the same paper), and Rita Berman’s colouring books, Steve Mcdonald’s colouring books are just perfect to play with watercolour. But be careful if you apply a gel pen on the other side, it might make it bleed. Some paints can bleed too. So testing them is better to be on the safe side. Paper usually gets wavy and buckles, but this can be fixed by putting over the book another bunch of books 😄 or ironing the page, however, I would be careful with iron, because a book’s glue binding might melt from the hit. I believe water on its own can sort of melt binding glue too. For example, my Magical Jungle (US edition) fell apart after I used watercolour to colour a double-spread page. Hope you will have lots of fun with watercolours 🍀

Thank you so much for your tip too💜 I noticed Sakura gel pens are good quality. Unfortunately I had problems with my Uni Signo, they are good at beginning, later they dry up. They are always safe, I don’t drop them, I keep the cap on, but still. So I have to do these extra miles to make them write. I also noticed this happens often with normal colour. And colours with shimmer don’t dry up so fast.

Hi 💜first of all I would like thank you so much for the support🤗. I’m sorry to hear that you got a bad batch. They should have replaced it for you. Some of labels also were stuck, but all were dry paints. However after using these, my paints are still kind of wet. So I am assuming they take time to dry, like days. Have you tried Rembrandt or Van Gogh watercolours, they are very good, and Van Gogh has dusk colours which are granulating too.

Do you live in a humid climate? Some brands like White Nights, Dayler Rowney and Sennelier are gooey, indeed, but you can still use them. Yours probably aren’t a bad batch, it has to do with the binder. You'll have to keep them open so they cannot get mouldy. Windsor & Newton or Holbein might be a better option. Their pans are much drier from the get go. I even find them too hard, but I do live in a dry climate.

I was told the trick to these is let them sit in the freezer for a bit before you open them. Due to it being so cold where they are from they don't deal with the same issues.

Hi Sue -- I am sorry to hear that the paints you bought were an unworkable consistency to use for your projects! After I I watched this video, I went to Amazon to see if they offered any of these paints, and I was surprised to see that they had a good selection, ...... some of them affordable for someone like me who doesn't have an unlimited budget for art supplies! (This was on Amazon USA ) I paint watercolor flowers, so I really liked the lilac and ruby mist colors, along with the yellow tutt and orange mist (for bright centers) and the yellowish-green for leaves. They offer the half pans for $12.99, (the gooey ones) but they also offer mini 3-tube sets for $19.99, and I'm wondering if the pigments in the tubes might "behave" a little better and be easier to work with. They also have a 12-tube set ($39.99) and a 24-tube set ($79.99) If you don't need a bunch of colors, the mini sets might be a way to go! They also post a link to the White Knights Amazon Store, which is interesting. I hope this helps ... these are some gorgeous colors! All the best to you! ♥ - Monica ♥

Hi Melody🤗 thank you so much 💜 I downloaded images online of each book cover, and then placed them on Microsoft Word. I did try to align them, so when printed they are same ( as much as possible), also I saved it after printing, so when I added new front cover I could align them with older ones to print them in a same size.

Hi there 🤗 thanks so much for the the valuable info. I think 30$ is good value, considering they come from long distance. I got this for almost original price from Tashkent(20-21$). However on Amazon.ae they are a bit pricey (68$). I know we can mix our own granulating paints, still there is that temptation 🥹 I’m currently tempted to get Kuretake granulating paints, but holding myself. I will do my best to work more with White Nights watercolours. Haven’t tried Mijello, are they good?

Where did you find the new Holbein granulating watercolors on Artemiranda? I looked all over their site and didn’t see them. Do you know how much they charge for shipping to the US? I’ve never ordered from them before, but their prices for some paints are lower than Jacksons now, so I’m thinking about it.

@@aqua_coloring They were featured in the new section on the home page. I no longer see them on the site. Just see the mijello and hordam naturals now. I remember looking at the little swatches they have too, even tho I detest the thought of most of the new holbeins. Too much white pigments and dyes and they do not flow properly. At least the regular holbeins don't. I do not think I am misremembering? Anyways some of the new mijellos remind me of Daniel Smith primateks. I am still waiting for someone to PROPERLY swatch them to see which tubes or set I really want. The shipping was under ten dollars. I think it might have been like 5 dollars? My order took about a week to get here. I was pretty impressed. Only thing is they need to at least put some pigment info. It took forever going back and forth from Rosa and white nights websites to make sure I was ordering the correct pigments I wanted. In that order I got some of the granulating rosa pans along with white nights and if you like greens may I suggest buying the jade green pan from rosa? I am just in love with the granulation and color separation of that particular pan. They make a lovely pr122 as well! I couldn't find the hordam natural mini tube sets anywhere except st Louis..so I emailed artemiranda about them and they said they would have them as soon as they became available and now they have them a month later. So at any rate they will have the holbeins soon. It's just weird because I know I saw them and I also saw the luminous holbeins too and there gansai set holbein makes. I also saw the shimmer sets from white nights on the featured or new products page and they are no longer there either. I went and looked at the open stock holbein tubes just to be sure and I do not see them. And that is where I saw the swatches. I am sorry. But yeah I am very happy I found that store. I found them through a UA-cam comment on some watercolor channel.

@@ColourWithKami You managed to get them practically for free! 😀 Everyone is overcharging for the white nights and Rosa's too right now. They are not easy to find at correct prices. The kuretakes have dyes in them so if you try to scan them the dye part does not show up..Also these dyes can fade very quickly (months) if exposed to light. Just like markers and pens which are also dye based. But they are beautiful especially if you layer/glaze them slowly and build up the color they have a very unique texture. Yes. Mijello is a very good brand but it can be tricky getting the correct set. I would only recommend the pure pigment gold set. That being said they are good for beginners as they are just regular colors that do not granulate and they are VERY vibrant and saturated so it is helpful in the sense of making one learn color theory and color mixing and how to mix neutrals and desaturate your colors. For the serious beginner who is starting out with watercolor painting (and wants to step up into professional or artist grade paints) if it made sense money wise I would start with those or the Daniel smith essential split primary mixing set of 6 tubes. Also some color separating paints such as Cascade green by Daniel smith are impossible to mix due to how the company manufactures them and the particle sizes have to be ground and milled to the correct size for each particular pigment so that the particles and pigments flocculate properly (when the right amount of water is added by the consumer) and separate apart and also some particles float on top while the heavier particles sink into the valleys of the paper. So while the color of some special paints can be duplicated the property's and characteristics of some of these paints cannot. Keep in mind I am talking about color separation and not granulation. Even with the dusk or shadow colors, I have found it is sometimes hard getting the mix dark enough while maintaining the correct value of the other pigment In the mix. But thankfully alot of them can be replicated. Thank you again for doing a proper and also beautiful swatch of these paints. I can't tell you how many people get it wrong. ✨

Otherwise I would probably still pay more on amazon (for reasonable more😅) But if prices were too much hiked, I would look for alternatives like Rembrandt or Van Gogh, these I can get for reasonable price at my local store here. Or even W&N cotman seems okay on Amzon. As much as I love Daniel Smith, they are going to cost me, since it comes from US, so Amazon prices hiked up for me. I got one small set of DS for 42$ when it was reduced a bit, Alvaro Castagnet series. No idea if it is fair price, but they are different from others. I do like these. Would love to try primateks one day. I will probably won’t get Kuretake ones. I’ll keep my eye on mijello. Rosa - I have seen them only on Amazon. I didn’t see them where I got WN. I’m assuming these will be overpriced on Amazon. Have you tried Rembrandt chameleon glass watercolours? These are fantastic. Much appreciated your feedback on watercolours 😊

Hi Bon 💜🤗 Thank you so much! I have Matte Gel Medium and Mod podge, definitely first one is winner. I don’t have Liquitex one, but I will keep that one in mind in the future. The tape I got in Daiso. Regarding dark room, honestly it my first time, and wasn’t sure if it would turn out well. Seems it is not too bad. Just shouldn’t have used acrylic paint, it was difficult to apply inks on top. And it seems it is a bit bigger bottle. I think it will be worth getting Kuretaki one, since it is 60 ml bottle. I just checked on amazon skytouch one, it doesn’t mention how much ml. But additionally to gold ink you also get black ink, wooden handle with replacement nibs.
