Love all the watercolor backgrounds Kamila !! I bought the granulating medium because of you but havent used it yet !!! Thank you for sharing ❤❤❤❤❤, yes its such a shame that the Johanna books are glue bound but i was surprised that her new one is stitch bound !!! Can you take your magical jungle to a place to get a spiral binding maybe? Here in the US, copy shops do it

I didn’t know that newer JB’s US books are sewn, that’s a relief. I wonder now about the paper in the US version🤔 (tolerance to water) I recently got her latest book in the UK version, even tho the US version was available much earlier. But I waited patiently 😄 About the Magical Jungle, I was thinking of completing the book and then gluing the binding by myself, I will try to find some tools that help this process. I don’t want to use spiral binding as I would punch illustrations, and double spreads wouldn’t look the same. However, I always wanted to spiral binding my Mythographics, since they are one-sided and already perforated. I feel it would make colouring also easier. Perfectionist struggles are real 🫠
Congrats on hitting 1000 subs Kami! 🎉 beautiful pages! I’m going to have to look for the Chameleon Rembrandt watercolours.. after seeing your butterfly page in MJ wow! I love the colour shift. As soon as I saw the gold border in your GOT book, I was hoping you’d mentioned what paint you used, great idea to use metallic washi tape. I have the same problem with books falling apart and some books are yellowing in my collection. I bought a new copy of Enchanted Forest because it got so yellow. Thanks for sharing! 🤗❄️☃️🎄
Thank you so much Bonnie 💕🤗 Rembrandt Chameleon watercolour paints are amazing, so lucky we have those in Dubai at decent price. They don’t have pigment in them, only coloured glass. That gold washi tape was a bit tricky to cut, so I messed up a little. I agree washi tapes great to apply as border or frame. I got these from Tchibo. It is 10 meters 🙃. I will assume some colouring books paper has something to do with the acidity of it. I could be wrong. Specially when it is your loved book, and falls apart 🫠 Happy colouring dear ❄️🎄🤗💜

Thank you 💜🤗💜 Tchibo is German company. They produce from house hold items to clothes, so many things. I was lucky to find these on their stationery items, it was on sale in one pack there was different sizes and print. I was shocked how much I was getting for the value. I googled it, maybe you could find Tchibo in Walmart.

Bassfords book in the US were glue bound and they all fall apart with heavy use, watercolor or not. I started having my books spiral bound at my local print shop.. first because of Bassford and Mythographic (those don't come apart at the binding but because they are perforated, they just fall apart as well). I liked it so much I started having all my new books spiral bound when I buy them. Not only do they no longer fall apart, they lay flat for coloring, and you can flip them around so only one page is exposed, saving a lot of problem with the opposite page getting color on it, or the spine sucking in color with wet media. Another book I find works surprisingly well with watercolor is Lulu Mayo, they barely warp at all and don't bleed though.. but I've got the US version, I've been told the UK versions don't do well at all, with strange little spots showing up. I'm not sure what would happen with her books from other areas of the world.
