Could you do a staccato versus legato video? Close ups on left or right hand technique.
I’ve never thought to ask this question Cody….I thought the answer was ALWAYS 😅😅😅 I love your content man! So great to see your musical journey!! 👏🏻👏🏻
The answer is ALWAYS! Lol. I was actually going to say that in the video, but I forgot to mention it, so thanks for bringing that up!
Also, I remember you rest stoke scales always being 🔥🔥🔥
Also, I think it’s good to strive to have your free stroke sound as full as a free stroke. To your point, I think they will naturally have distinct sounds, especially when optimizing the technique. In contrast, I’ve also been dabbing in practicing rest strokes softly. I feel this has taught my right hand to relax more when using rest strokes for Melody heavy parts or fast lines.
@@GuitarCody9🙏🏻🙏🏻🫡🫡 Coming from a requinto/ bolero style of playing, I think it came natural to me to a certain extent. I really had to go back to work on my free stroke later on😂
Great advice!
Hello Pari, thank you!
I like rest strokes, and I liked the video.
Glad to hear that. Thank you!
Nice thank you🎉🎉
Thank you for watching as always!
A partir del Minutos 7 Tim. Usa una guitarra eléctrica. Por eso. Ouse hacer pickin. Y veo. Que guitar. también puede
I'm earlyyy
No way 🥲🔥
Yeah way
Nice job man!!! Your at one of my biggest goals. Keep it up!!
Thanks, will do. And you can do it too!
Fuuuuuuu!!! My boiiii!!!! Rocked it. Legitimately 🎉🎉🎉
Fantastic!
Hey, thank you for listening.
I wonder if Tim Henson would do this challenge with some big hitting classical repertoire, a Villa Lobos etude or perhaps some Koshkin, or a Brouwer etude? I think Tim would play it like a boss, but I’d still like to see it!
That would be super cool to watch. I'd be curious to see how'd he do as well especially with the right hand techniques.
You learnt it without hybrid picking may as well start again😂😂😂😂😂
Lol. Is that good or bad?
Golden buzzer on any got talent show....
let's talk about Max Ostro...
you got the whole thing dawg
Thanks man. It came out okay after some practice
So good
Abraham, thank you!
Omg , you're real good ,it took me a month to play, thank you for making this keep it going my man I'll support you
Yeah? I wanna hear your version. Thank you for the support!
@@GuitarCody9 I'm at 75% of the speed but I'll try my best
one of the cleanest versions I've heart bro, and that without a pick 🔥
Thanks man! My nails are my picks lol
@@GuitarCody9 🤣 🤣 that's what I always tell people when they are like ew bro, why do you have nails, just play with a pick. I do both, but having nails is like having 4 (technically 5) picks lol
@@ZachMcCordProg Haha I know right? Some people don't understand it and always say you need to clip your nails.
Made it to the end (easily)! I’m curious that you didn’t practice arpeggios, e.g. like the Giuliani 120. Was it just this day or are they no longer a focus point for you?
I love the Giuliani studies, and used to do those. I did the open string arpeggios, and sometimes I'll add chords to them, or perhaps Villa Lobos Etude 1
@@GuitarCody9 nice! Thanks for sharing
that was dope!! brother👍👍💥💥
Hello Ger, thank you so much!
Hey this is fantastic!! Just found your channel via Sorhands. I’m doing a similar raw practice thing, but from an advanced-hobbyist perspective. Nice to meet ya!
Hey Jon, gotta love that Sorhands guy! Nice to meet you as well!
That 's Fire 🔥🔥
Thank you, Alessandro!
So cool!👍🏻
Thank you, Enrico!
holy, this is incredible. amazing job!
Wow, thank you! Nice original song - An Ode to Perished Lovers. I enjoyed your performance.
🤘
Such a fun piece
That was clean bro ❤
Hey, thank you!
Clean 😮🔥
Thank you!
Thanks for the Scott Tennant reference. When you said to slow down if you were playing too fast, I changed the playback speed to 50%. You gotta try it. 😂
Haha nice. That’s always helpful
Not the turns ;-;
Wow! Love those warm up techniques. I always mess up the a-minor scale..a-melodic minor. 😅
Thank you. Lol I understand that!
I have inbuilt tuner in my guitar😢, am I accepted here?🥺😂
Haha, of course you are!
Time to try classical dragons with tim and marcin
Your vibrato is fantastic !! The tone colour of your acoustic guitar sounds so full :) . I enjoyed this a lot ! I would love to learn many Joe Hisaishi pieces on guitar
Hi Nick, thank so much for the kind comment. Nice playing on your channel as well. Keep shredding!
Buen video Cody. Yo solo sabia una tecnica de cal etamiento xd
Thank you!
The problem with site reading guitar is one note can have many positions. Mess that up once, and you are stuck. As such, you must make your own arrangements via tablature to make it work. Any teach who teachs it as just read the notes isn't teaching it practically.
Can you do more videos like this, i love them❤❤
Thank you. Any recommendations?
If you want Libertango Is also a good song
@@alessandroremondini2983 That's a good suggestion. Thanks
Definitely check out his more melodic stuff like get you back! Thanks for responding to my req tho! Sub earned !
Okay, will do and thank you!
“many men”
My 16 year old self is in this video and I do not like it
Theres a famous kazoo player that does vibrato exactly that its so annoying how serious and unaware of how lame it sounds,… imo
Might want to fix those captions…
Do you ever find that your guitar is too loud? Do your ears feel sensitive after a couple of hours of practice? It's been my experience recently with some ringing in my right ear.
No, I wish it was more loud. The only experience I've had like that is when I practice with ear plugs, and after I remove them the guitar sounds more strong because my ears adjusted to the softer muted sound. What kind of guitar do you play?
I had the exact same issue a while back but ultimately it was just that I was playing too loud. Try playing less tense it helps controlling the sound better
@@GuitarCody9 I have a few but didn't experience that before. A month ago I bought a new Ramirez 1A. Ringing started a couple of weeks after I got it. I find that guitar insanely loud. I know it's a good thing and that classicals are generally quiet instruments compared to say piano but I also think that sitting next to a device that comfortably generates 80-90DB of noise for hours, can't be good for your ears. I can't even imagine how it is with a professional double top or lattice braced guitar. I started using earplugs too but I find that even the ones designed for music, distort the sound of the guitar - they either make it too thin or too boomy. And like you said - after you take them off, the guitar sounds super loud. I also don't really feel like wearing earplugs too much because that's not what I got the guitar in the first place ;). But I guess I'll wear them for technique practice to protect the ears. Still, I find it very fascinating how professional classical guitarists practice the instrument for hours a day, give concerts, teach and usually play on very loud guitars and don't have such issues (unless they do?).
@@duck6841 that's possible too. I'll try that. Thanks
Nah it's just Classical music teachers be strict cant even alter it slightly you can only play it like this not this creativity is not allowed
hello Cody!!! awesome video as always, i really needed the practice
Hey, thanks. What are you working on?
@@GuitarCody9 trying to learn Spanish Romance but really struggling with it, really not accustomed with not using a pick :) do you have a nice beginner's song to recommend?
@@driftboat9809 Nice, that's a classic and works well for lots of situations. An easy piece might be something like Waltz in E minor by Ferdinand Carulli. That might be too easy depending on your level, but you can check it out.
@@GuitarCody9 eyyy thanks a lot! I absolutely will. 😄 have a great day Cody
❤
Thanks tuning in :)
I think you should try to play like Yngwie Malmsteen.
Oh my that sounds difficult!
i would youse a metronome every time even for warm ups do you have a reason why you dont use a metronome, do you use it at all? Also very interessting on what you are focusing. Great video thanks
Hey, Simon. Thanks for watching. Good call. A metronome never hurts. I do use a metronome often. The only reason I'm not using one is because when I'm first warming up, my tempo tends to vary a lot based on how the nails are feeling. I'll often fix and adjust nail shape during a warm up, and I like to focus on feeling the string on the fingertip and nail, and you can use a metronome for that as well depending on your preference.
@@GuitarCody9 Hi Cody, and thanks for your answer. I like to think, that a click or metronome does force some kind of precision on one. And precision is a always a good thing to train and to gain for. Also my nails are often not in the perfect shape for playing, maybe im too lazy on that part. Btw. Marcin and Tim Henson just released a song together.
@@simons8564 For sure. I know what you mean. Yeah, I saw that!. Fire.
What up everyone
What's up Mr. Potato Head?
it sounds better depending on context.
This is true!
