Can't wait. Looks really good.
@@garyburnett1977 thanks!
I think the spread with the couldren on it is dedicated to a cooking system, and the stuff on the left page is either ingrediants or types of meals
Woooooo!
Love to hear a Rhode Island shoutout from Rev. Joey Royale!
What a moron. He is so full of his overly bloated ego who lives to hate. Bryce needs to shut up and actually write the type of adventures he claims so few know how to write
I really want to see the toxic knitting fandom, us that the catty ladies at the returement home?
Great Hallowzine reviews! Lots of interesting GM ideas here. Thanks. Liked & sub. 👍🏼
I haven’t played BSH yet but really want to try it. Merry Mushmen stuff is very good. The Knock zine alone is amazing content for RPGs. Thanks for the interview! 👍🏼
Thanks for having me, Garry! It was a genuine pleasure to be on the show :D
"wasting a crit" is such a weird conicept for me. It's a random roll, you have an equal chance at a 20 each time. WAsting it seems to imply that the d20 only contains a certain amount of natural 20 rolls within it.
Maybe it is a poor choice of words, but I was referring to the moments when you roll well, but there aren't many ways to leverage that success in-game. Not that you can run out of crits. I hope that clears up my meaning, thanks for watching!
Thanks for the shout out! I'm glad people are enjoying the artwork. It's a real pleasure working on Huckleberry! Steven brings great ideas to the table and that makes my job easier.
The Art of Game Design/Book of Lenses has one big thing over, really, all of the others: it actually teaches you how to design games. In it, Schell becomes the mentor you were always looking for. And not that it doesn't have a philosophy, but it doesn't dwell on theory. It teaches things you can use. It also imparts many nuggets of counterintuitive wisdom, like: the most important skill or trait that a game maker can have is the ability to listen!
Definitely gonna pick this up, saw an ad on FB and started looking into it and this game looks like so much fun
On my list now thanks. Completely ditched D&D now that Wizards of the Coast have revealed themselves as complete dbags and scmbags. Got Mork Borg for fantasy, Ultraviolet Grasslands for my sci fi. and gonna pick up Huckleberry next.
This was so great. I came for Steven and Huckleberry, I stayed for the Calgary Stampede reference.
Ya Hoo!
The first roleplay game and system that made sense to me 😂 loved this and probably why I'm such a fan of the Awfully Cheerful Engine and W.O.I.N D6 systems
Appreciate that as an interviewer you are able to restrain your own enthusiasm and let your guests talk uninterrupted.
That is really one of the secrets to doing it well for sure.

Stretch Pay is a godsend and KS doesn't do it.
I feel like term generic is being misinterpreted here as if it means "an inferior copy" when it actually means "lacking an identity", which is what you describe when you say you take the rulebook to create the game world and texture you want to play with
We need more Valducan books. And they need to be read by R.C. Bray. 😁 And a Kickstarter for Valducan rpg would be awesome.
Thanks for having me, I jumpled some words and mumbled some others, but it was a pleasure talking to you.
It was great to have you on!
I was considering purchaing Holler, than found this video. Listening to the creator share his orgin story sealed the deal.
Awesome! You'll have to circle back after a few sessions!
This guy is a gem and a person after my own heart. Low complexity all the way! One of the games I love (on paper at least) is Tunnels & Trolls. I recently discovered Cairn and may try to integrate some T&T flavor and fun into Cairn. Thanks for some of the name drops of hacks of your system. Meteor looks great.
Eh, I'm sticking with Barbarians of Lemuria
Best game store, best gamer. Gord has done more than anyone for gaming, players, event’s, and the industry in the city and beyond.
Been a customer for over 35 years now and Gord has certainly made Calgary a better place to live with the store and the community he's built around The Sentry Box and having an amazing staff throughout the years that match his love for gaming. It's definitely an honor to have my Space Marine cosplay on display at the store! I'll have to stop by again soon and pickup all those Out-of-Print games!
Great questions for Ben. Subscribed.
I can't believe you show the runes AND DON'T SAY WHAT THE RUNE TEXT SAYS OR GO THROUGH THEM!!!!
My first visit to Sentry Box was when it was little slip of a shop on Crowchild, just off Kensington, with books, boxes, and miniatures packed in everywhere. I've been going to Sentry Box as they have moved to larger and larger locations ever since. Kudo's to Gord for lasting and being part of the gaming community!
However, is newer WotC D&D that designed their games as "sports", where all encouters should be "balanced". OSR is more like WAR!
Thank you very much Garry & Chris. Much love.
I ran the starting adventure for this, but using the rules and backdrop for Electric Bastionland. Such a weird and cool adventure!
Sometimes I struggle with anger and other negativity. People like Seth are role models for me to do better. I really appreciate that he consciously chooses to do a positive show. This is a good person.
More please

BFRPG is like Linux, free and open source and endlessly adaptable.
Is there a discord , facebook or some other boards to discuss this game? I have a lot of questions.
I have had the honor of being able to draw for magazines dedicated to Doc Savage. Here from Chile I thank you for the video and I leave you a link to one of my illustrations www.tebeosfera.com/T3content/img/T3_muestras/T3_autores/j/l/m_diaz_castro_cristian_eric_6383jl.jpg
Absolute legend!
I'd love to see a massive GM adventure generator system section to create a world, npcs, monsters, HQ, situation generator, gadgets, factions to support long term campaign play. Sort of a ghostbusters version of Knave 2e? Maybe solo rules?
Been playing D&D (red box and beyond) for 40 years. With the latest changes to 5.5e, I now simply struggle to follow the game to where it wants to go, seemingly intent on destroying fundamental concepts that I consider sacrosanct to the game. So, finally, I’m looking for a new hobby home and fell into Forbidden Lands. However, desiring to play with my teenage girls, I’ve been looking for a simpler OSR game and Knave 2e couldn’t have arrived at a better time. Thank you Ben Milton for creating it.
I’m really enjoying the Savage Worlds game mechanics ❤
I’m so bummed I missed out on the KS (busy moving house distracted me).
Perchance is a really handy website.
Jason! I finally see your face. I'm not going to lie, you do not look like I imagined. Don't take that the wrong way. You look great. Just very different than I pictured. Great insights as always.
On researching it I think I totally confused the Man-Thing record with the cereal box records. I definitely had both a Man-Thing and cereal box records and that’s where the confusion lies, it was a long time ago.
I think I might have mis-remembered the Clash of the Titans... perhaps they were just stickers? www.battlegrip.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/12/sugarcrispback.jpg
Looking foreward to getting this! And thanks for hosting one of the very best RPG podcasts on the WWW!
Garry you n' Diogo from Old Skull need to interview each other for your respective Shows!!!! Shane Kablooey
Looks great - thanks for the pitch, Scott, I'll check it out (really liking the idea of having some cool chase rules for Mörk Borg). Hope it goes well. Cheers Garry.
Thanks! Things are going great so far.
Shame on you for supporting Ben Milton and Knave 2e. Ben lied to us Kickstarter backers and sold advanced copies of what was supposed to be a Kickstarter exclusive cover at a convention before ANY of the backers got their books. I still don't have mine as of this post. Then he treated us like we were the bad guys for complaining when the exclusive cover was renamed "premium edition." Don't support ANY content creator that lies and then disrespects their backers. Shame on you both!
Normally I would ignore a stupid rant like this, but I need to call you out. Could I not also say shame on you for backing the project? Anyways, don't come on my channel and make dumb accusations.
So if I understand you correctly, what you're saying, is, "Whaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhh Boooooohoooooooooooo *SOB* Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhh!!" That about right?
