Looks like a great recipe, but I found the “background” music so distracting that I could hardly hear your voice. Unfortunately it was so annoying I couldn’t finish watching the video. Suggest ditching the music next time? Thanks!
Mine only works with 91% alcohol. The 70% doesn't burn. Not on my tiny wicks. Which are actually much thicker at 6mm
Class act mate, a great YT Vid, good on ya... ;)
Thank you
Thank you. I really enjoyed the comparison. This was something I was wondering about and looking for.
Had to stop watching. The music was way too loud and had difficulty hearing what was being said
Are yiu trying to make a naan bread loaf? 🍞
Looks like a nice stew!
Use this Ikea Ordnung for starting charcoal briquettes
Nice mate same happens to us all the time
Trangia does have spare parts so you can buy the missing plastic part to the handle of the coffeepot if you want.
The flame from the central 'chimney is only a 'priming flame. You need to wait until the flame appears in the circle of small holes around the lip of the burner, before the stove is ready to go. Also, as previously mentioned, the windshield is assembled 'inside-out', with the tabs to the outside.
Trangia also makes a nice pot stand adapter for this stove, which allows one to use any pot. I think they call it the "pan stand".
Oooh I’ve not seen that, I’ll take a look
Yep, I have one for my Trangia 25, works great.
Nice video my man please keep the great info coming
Thanks! Let me know about anything specific you want to know or see with the old one
Very versitile stoves in less than freezing conditions. Have carried one for years
Yes, they last a long time as they’re so simple but well designed
Hey hope you enjoy this video! Check out forestpotcooking.com for all my recipes and to buy the Forest Pot Cook Book!
I found one of the old ones in a second hand store for $8.99 in the 80s. later found a second lower base unit and a spare kettle for $1.99. Hae drilled out the second base unit to take a gas burner clone which I got on ebay for $25.
Bargain!
You can find the recipe here! forestpotcooking.com/recipes/vegan-lentil-burger.html
no need for vegan shit. Let then eat rocks because plants are alive just as much as animals are
Looks tasty , new sub here 👍🏕
Great! Glad you liked it!
@ForestPotCooking always happy to support a fellow outdoor youtuber 👍🏕
I wonder you could use the lentil bag to pre mix the sauce in it and then just pour portions in the tin. I never get to close my simmer ring far enough to prevent burning, but I may try dilute the alcohol I use, a bit and give it a try.
Yeah maybe that would work. You might need a spoon or ladle to make sure you get an even mix of sauce and lentils though. I've not tried watering down the meths, but have heard it helps!
Looks pretty tasty, I will look out for something similar to those lentils,
Hope you enjoy! If you're in the UK, Lidl do a very similar product.
That's why I'll have to look, rural Canada. So I've never seen prepared lentils, always dried.
Another great video, thanks for taking the time test the recipe, produce the video and post it. Already a subscriber, I have just purchased the PDF copy of your recipe book and am looking forward to trying some recipes in the field. Regards Broadlander
Awesome, thank you so much for the support! Hope you enjoy the book!

This looks absolutely delicious! I'm intrigued by the tofu wings, I've never seen those before.
It's so good! And the dried tofu was new to me but perfect for a mess tin!
Wow! I am curious about the tofu wings!
1980 the year I graduated High School…
I was just trying to think of 80's food I can cook on an 80's Trangia! Any suggestions welcome!
Music is too much.
Ah sorry, will try and do anther video with the old set later this year. Less music in my more recent videos! But thanks for watching.
Super tasty, not too busy and quite cheap £26 for all of that food and a can of Sprite. I don’t always eat in the woods…
Flammable liquid on fire in cheap metal container. No thanks
Yeah, I mean you take your chances! There isn't much fuel though, so limited opportunities for real harm.
I have 3 larger ones. 2 metal/aluminum & 1 glass w ceramic wick holder. They've saved my life as a homeless whistle-blower Navy/JAG assassin living in Vermont winters. Epsteins partners-in-crime are a bit butthurt 😂😂
I really like your videos Josh! 😊
Thanks! 😃
Looks very nice. I will pick up some of them mixed beans and tomatoes. Thank you.
Thanks for the tutorial. Looks great.
Thanks for watching!
Оригинальное решение, tasty meal
Thanks!
Good camp cook. I'm going to assume your SOS message with alphabetti spaghetti was tongue in cheek!
Yes it was!
How u stop water coming in at the top
No great solution yet, when it’s a bit warmer I will try again.
I've read that the hungarian soldiers used to put their helmet on the top of the lavvu (also they didn't used a pole but their rifle). So maybe you could use a folding bucket or something like that on the top.
Surely yo could have whittled a spoon from some if the wood kicking around?
Esbit tabs are easier to light if you place the match under the stove. Thats why the stove had such large holes or so im told. Got to try this.
Ah that makes sense!
@@ForestPotCooking You won't believe how long it took me to figure that one out and only when someone told me
Interesting video, could have turned the music down a bit though.
Nice review 👍Brilliant bits of kit for solo day hikes or overnighters, although difficult to find out here in Malaysia. My Mini - including burner - I sourced fron an outdoor shop in Indonesia and my Triangle I ordered direct from the Trangia webshop and it arrived within 4 days !. Recently ordered the new Micro from the Trangia webshop and that arrived in 7 days! I find my Mini and Micro are both brilliant for my solo afternoons out in my local woods and can handle dried pasta and noodles with ease and best of all, they don't take up much space at all in my pack or on my bike.
Amazing to hear about them being used so far away from Sweden!
What a delicious meal to have outdoors😁
Yes was very tasty, thanks for watching!
Great video, hope you didn’t experience too much flame damage to the bamboo steamer. Regards Broadlander
There was a little! But it will live to steam another day!
Nice design, but imo really low quality pots and pans. I upgraded to a gas adapter on mine but still just can;t live with the lowest quality pans I've ever seen ! Mine are the nonstick which although worked great in the fry pan I noticed the covering is super thin, wears through & flakes off a lot, even though I'm quite gentle with all my gear and take care when handling.
Which pans do you recommend? I’ve only got the standard set, not non-stick…
@@ForestPotCooking If you need higher durability, get Duossal replacement pans and bowls from the Trangia website in the spare parts section, I replaced my 27 frypan with duossal a few years ago.
That looked really tasty😁
Thank you 😋
Looks lovely. I love those trangia mess tins, I have the large one, great piece of kit. Cheers!
Nice one!
Great vid! The triangle is assembled from the outside in (the hooks). You hooked from the inside out, under certain circumstances the weight of a pot could actually force the triangle apart if assembled backwards.
Yes, got a little excited - but have it down to a fine art now.
If you use a taller piece of wood will that increase the air drawn through the top? You could also angle the side hole downwards so sticks sit better in it. Just my thoughts, good video :)
Yeah, probably a good shout. It would last longer too!
A little bit of meat would be nice... and a few crackers with a slice of cheese...🍲
FFS read the instructions.
Looks good!
It was!
