I just want to address any concerns over the bee that appears at 12:27 in this video - it was fine after a while, I put it under a bush to recuperate and then he flew off. I think it learned a valuable lesson that day and will avoid any future fly-overs of camping equipment.

The flame from the central 'chimney is only a 'priming flame. You need to wait until the flame appears in the circle of small holes around the lip of the burner, before the stove is ready to go.
Also, as previously mentioned, the windshield is assembled 'inside-out', with the tabs to the outside.

    Great vid!
The triangle is assembled from the outside in (the hooks). You hooked from the inside out, under certain circumstances the weight of a pot could actually force the triangle apart if assembled backwards.

Yes, got a little excited - but have it down to a fine art now.

Ithink you have the triangle inside out the hooks work better other way

I'll have another go, was a bit excited and went straight from opening it to using it!

Nice video about an amazing cooking set. I love my Mini Trangia, it's always in my backpack wherever I go.
A small advice for you though. Be careful with the non-stick pan, try to level it before and use the simmer ring when cooking a single piece of sausage. You don't need that crazy amount of heat for a sausage or a small amount of food. And as I mentioned it before, try to level the whole set because you ended up frying the sausage in a small spot of the pan where the oil gathered and the rest of the surface of the pan was overheating. This way you risk damaging the pan.
Learn to use the simmer ring and adjust the heat accordingly.
    Greetings from Romania!

Thank you for the tips! My other set isn’t non stick so still getting used to it!

great job. my tip- I saved an old tuna can and I use that to snuff out flame. The stove fits into the tuna can perfectly. so it doesn't take up much space. the simmer ring is too hard for me to take off and close when it is burning hot.

If you had spare water, boil/simmer the sausage in water first so it’s cooked all the way through then if you want a crispy outside, give it a quick fry on the frying pan. My go to method of cooking sausages. Obviously if you are not bothered about having a crispy skin, it still tastes good boiled/simmered and you don’t have the hassle of cleaning up a frying pan.

Would a Linda McCartney sausage survive that?! I’ll give it a go, but feels like I’ll be enjoying a thin veg sausage consomme!

@@ForestPotCooking if you don’t want to submerse your sausage in water then use a small amount of water and steam, the whole point is to cook the sausage using water first before browning the skin.

The simmer ring cover (the swing-out black disc) on a new Trangia always needs to be loosened up with a bit of bending and twisting. It can then be tapped relatively easily into the desired position while the burner is on.

Good tip! I also wonder why they coat it in paint that melts / burns…

Nice review 👍Brilliant bits of kit for solo day hikes or overnighters, although difficult to find out here in Malaysia. My Mini - including burner - I sourced fron an outdoor shop in Indonesia and my Triangle I ordered direct from the Trangia webshop and it arrived within 4 days !. Recently ordered the new Micro from the Trangia webshop and that arrived in 7 days! I find my Mini and Micro are both brilliant for my solo afternoons out in my local woods and can handle dried pasta and noodles with ease and best of all, they don't take up much space at all in my pack or on my bike.

Amazing to hear about them being used so far away from Sweden!

I use my T28 with a triangle as i think its more stable than the standard burner stand. I use a Trangia bio-ethanol and dragon blocks with mine as its more compact as i can store them in the pot. A tweak you can make it to buy a T27 inner pot, it stacks oved the top of the T28 pot and the circumference is the same as pan to they butt up together, i then just run a strap to hold it together.

Likeable review, thanks. Bee 🐝 probably offered better protein than burnt LM sausage.

These tiny cook sets look great. I love my trangia 25 so this looks like a fun option for hiking

I like the Red camp version better. That simmer ring won't even fit in that triangle nonsense.

    • @ForestPotCooking
      @ForestPotCooking  Рік тому

Yeah, it did seem like the simmer ring will only fit in a few positions. I guess that’s the compromise of a smaller kit.
