I love books also, I read every day!
I lived in Phoenix, AZ for a short span of time and let me tell you the thrift stores in the area are some of the best! Book shelves galore too; many hidden gems.

You got this, grandma! We all struggle with weight issues, some more than others. I’d say stop eating anything after 6 pm! I’ve done that and lost 12 lbs within 2 months. But once we age, it’s very hard to lose or maintain a good diet and weight. I’m still overweight by 16 lbs! 🙏

When i was strictly keto, i lost weight. Which was no carbs, fruit or added sugars. More protein n healthy fats. Also alt fasting. But its not easy lol

Looks like an interesting read. I just started exercising myself. Congrats on losing some weight. If we think how long it took us to gain the weight, I think that helps us to not get discouraged. ❤

Thanks for sharing. I know the struggle with weight only too well. But everyone makes mistakes and no one is perfect they are probably just better at hiding their inadequacies. And if you fall you can always get back up on the horse so-to-speak. Best of luck and don't ever let anyone tell you otherwise. :)

this popped up in my recommended. you got this! getting to where you want to be is a fight, and its not always an easy one. healing isn't always linear either. giving in to a craving doesn't mean you're a failure. If losing weight was easy, everyone would be thin and there wouldn't be such a push for all this weight loss and dieting nonsense in our media. It's something a lot of people are insecure about, and that's okay. you aren't alone, brenda. we're rooting for you. you're doing great <3

Congrats on 100 subs! Also, I really don't think coffee is breaking a fast.. Especially since Caffeine withdrawals can give headaches and all of that.. Now, I have kind of the opposite of your ED. I've never liked food, and I am really underweight, I weigh myself every week personally! I love your idea of having a day planner, I might try that myself, with all the stickers and all! Yayy! Congratulations on 100 subscribers! You already have a lot of stuff planned so I don't know what else you could add in it just yet without getting overwhelmed. About the mint or Werther's candy option, I think it would be better to have a chewing gum instead as it would last much longer and keep your mouth pretty occupied.

Pretty brave to put yourself on the Internet like this, we need more people like you who are honest and open about these battles. My mental trick someone told me, ‘it’s not a diet, it’s a change of lifestyle’. And I think that’s a really important perspective to take. A diet implies it’s temporary when what you’re asking for is an improvement and investment in yourself.

It's important to know that most diets fail, a lot of people quit after a few months or even weeks and the main reason is because they fail once and then just give up. It's expected that you'll mess up at some point which is why you should always count your wins, not your losses. Try counting the healthy meals over the times you gave in. Also, having something to chew on can help in times when you feel super hungry. My girlfriend uses chewing gum but you can also use things like dried seaweed. Crunchy pretzels or pretzel sticks are also a good diet snack, they can really fill you up and they're also quite low calorie.

It's not how many times you fall, but how many times you get back up. I find enjoyment in making foods i crave with alternative healther options. I freeze cool whip mixed with some peanut butter as a healthier "parfait". It's really about scratching that itch with what you can use but keeping yourself full enough by eating the proper stuff. If you are doing keto you get the benefits of enjoying high fat stuff and my favorite cheat when i was on that diet a few years back "lost around 12 lbs", was a cheesy lettuce wrapped bacon cheeseburger and they usually net around 3-5 carbs. It’s okay just stay consistent and it’ll be worth it even though it’s hard you’ll feel a lot better once you do it I myself struggle with weight but I’ll get ahead of myself and eat foods I know I shouldn’t and later feel disappointed but I’m 40 pounds down and I have faith in you I hope this journey goes well for you and stay consistent and stay healthy ❤

improvement isn’t linear; there will always be some bumps in the road, and that’s just part of getting better! the good part is that you are not giving up, and that you were able to acknowledge your mistakes and move past them. don’t beat yourself up over it. i’m rooting for you, brenda!

I think that while you’re disappointed, the admittance of what you did is so brilliant. Some people would let the shame swallow them up and would never admit it but you’re able to admit what went wrong and why it wasn’t good for you. I’m also glad I found this video because it is nice to have a video that I can relate to about the eating problems and the guilt. Super proud of you, you got this! ❤

You got this Brenda! As someone who's also struggled to find a healthy relationship with food for most of my life, it's a struggle that's difficult to truly understand unless you've also been there. Progress takes time, but it is always within reach, and it's important to remind yourself of that when you're picking yourself up from a misstep. To echo what others here are saying, good on you for having the bravery to share this with the world, and keep it up! Every day is a new day to do better and reach higher :)

Maybe what I say can be a little calming idk. But I think you're definitely doing perfectly fine. You are on a diet and you do have diabetes so I can't speak on those issues and how it comes with eating. But what I've learned through changing my own diet is to let it be a transitional thing. You shouldn't be so hard on yourself for indulging in foods you like once in a while. We all get cravings every now and then. I'm a firm believer that little changes go a LONG way. What I've taught myself to do is like making small habit changes. Say you usually get a coke, next time get a diet coke or. an orange juice. Say you get a lot of junk food, just try having less junk food the next time. Little implements like that make transitions so much easier, instead of just a whole 180 on your life. I sometimes eat out and then think "Okay well I've eating a lot, I'll get sushi instead of eat A&W this time. I'm at a point where I'm not eating out as much anymore, but I wouldn't have been able to get to this point without that middle spot. What I'm saying is it's alright to enjoy things once in a while, eating a few chocolates won't ruin you, I do get that feeling of disappointment, though. But we can always move passed it. Overtime certain food portions and meals will be a lot easier to take, trust me. Also don't listen to negative people who discredit your effort. Those people don't matter and we can't let them interfere with our goals. You're doing wonders and I wish you the best on your life journey :)

Brenda, I have done the Keto diet twice, first time I lost 60 pounds and second (this time) 50. We all slip up sometimes and fall back into bad habits. It is a journey and there will be highs and there will be lows. Your body will go back into ketosis and having a cheat meal (while you should try not to regularly) will not ruin everything. I understand being disappointed in yourself, just try to do better in the future. Number one way to have a successful diet is to learn to tell yourself no, It is hard but you CAN do it. You can also eat anything you want in moderation so it doesn't hurt to have a small amount of things you like while dieting, just have small amounts. I believe in you Brenda! I also have issues with binging and food addiction, I understand how much of a struggle it can be but you can ABSOLUTELY do it!
