Mini pulls on my Ktuned 2021 Acura TLX A-Spec! (2.0T K20C6)
In this video, I do mini runs with the Ktuner v2 flash tuner for my 2021 Acura TLX w/ A-Spec Package to get more boost and more power! This is a small part of a much longer video where I unbox, setup, and install the Ktuner. In future videos I will do some runs with more aggressive parameter selections and long-term with more supporting mods and stickier tires.

I want this car but i have 2007 is350 that’s still going strong 💪🏾
Thank you bro for sharing this great video. I am looking to buy one and I was thinking about 2021 but your information here are great! I am going to check issues and will likely look for 2022 version.
I need help! My 2021 Tlx randomly started getting EPS issue, AWD problem, lane assist problem, and more. How and why did this happen? And how do I mitigate this?
$20k for the car itself is insane. It’s a struggle finding one under $25k here in Jersey
Got the Phearable Stage 3 tune on my RDX. Best sleeper ever.
300hp from intake, exhaust, and tune?
Drop the pulls video bro 🙏
Why wasting money 😢
I have the same exact car but in black . I like your videos please keep them coming!
I could be wrong but you’re probably not around the 300hp mark. AHC Garage did a full ‘21 A-Spec build with dyno testing. With rv6 downpipe, k&n filter, and ktune their best number was 257hp. They also tried it with the same mods but an open air box (more similar to your k&n open air intake) and made only 248hp. Fully stock they made 240hp on dyno. Surprised by the phearable tune though… quicker pickup at 29:30 is definitely noticeable and clearly spins more as well. if you’re ever interested in some custom tuning, reach out to DRob from Innovative Motorworks. He tuned an A-spec that made 360hp but type r turbo upgrade/e30, the whole 9 yards. good luck with the build bro. just wanted to pass that info along.
Edit: After reviewing the Phearable Stage 3 tune on their site, their dyno sheet said it made 300hp 357tq on a stock TLX. So I may be wrong in my statement that you’re not at the 300hp mark. Are you running the stage 3 phearable tune? I wonder what AHC did wrong that they were only able to make 257hp with added mods and ktuner. I assume better tunes have been developed over time, hence the stage 3.
@tlx. I could be incorrect but according to ktuner.com/2021tlx/ the Stage 2 tune hits 300 hp and 250 lb-ft of torque to the wheel
Oh maybe I’m reading the graph wrong. You could be right as this could only be pushing 250hp and 300lb-ft of torque, my bad
I’m planning on doing the Stage 3 tune but most likely next year
@@TastyRides Yeah, the graphs can be a bit confusing in addition to the written info they provide. I’d look into supporting mods for Stage 3 tune if you plan on doing it next year. Not sure if the stock turbo can handle all that boost. Glad you are happy with your tune on there now though, seems like a lot of fun compared to driving stock. Good luck and hopefully everything holds up good for you, I will definitely be following along with your channel🤙🏼🤙🏼🤙🏼
we dont need 30 minutes video learn how to edit
You don’t have to be an dickhead about it
This MF watching another person on UA-cam do it
Does the crackling sound in the speakers happen with cd's?
This car doesn’t have a CD player or tape deck unfortunately
@@TastyRides Yes, but if you have a portable one, would it cause those issues? Or is that a sign of the cd skipping?
@@LDEIB the only crackling sound that I've had issues with are due to the faulty FARKA connectors which recently got a mass recall since a lot of people have had issues with them. I'm not sure about using a portable one, that could depend on the player and cable, especially since the A-SPEC at least is a much stiffer vehicle you might feel a lot more bumps and in turn cause the CD to play incorrectly. Hope this helps!
I thought this was a how to not a money waste
I live in Miami and thinking and a tlx. But not sure if I should get the 2019 type s with a v6. Or 21 4 cylinder a spec. Going to follow you
Parents on the background 😂
Hey man. Had a 2021 tech pkg and just got the 24 a spec recently. Any way you’d be able to drop the specific changes/parts you’ve made/added? Sounds fantastic. Also wanted to ask if when you’re driving people think it’s too loud cause I want to make the sound pop more but not be crazy loud. Thanks!
I mean I'm really not shocked again to hear that Acura has issues with their brakes that is a known thing i don't know about their SUVs but I know for a fact that the sedans do not provide confidence when breaking
If you dont mind me asking, how many miles did you buy the car with and what was the out the door price?
Hey man just had a question because I’m planning to do the same setup as you. What’s that tool you’re using and what is it used for? I’m referring to where you used the tool behind the muffler
This is like watching paint dry.
I’m thinking about coming from a v6 Camaro 22 to a Acura Tlx thanks for making my mind up about the 2.0 🤣
sounds nice but dude remove the dealer plate. i think an aspec frame would look sick
Did you have to cut anything or was it all a bolt on?
I think there might be a misunderstanding about the warranty: this model has a four-year 48,000 mile factory bumper-to-bumper warranty. Just because it is Acura certified doesn’t mean that warranty goes away and gets replaced with new terms , there may be an additional benefits from the CPO warranty extension, but the original warranty transfers to the new owner. Now, of course we’re coming up to the end of 2024 so you might not have much original warranty left (the date starts on the day the car was originally sold to the first owner which of course could be sometime in 2020 even ) But don’t hesitate to use that warranty… The only thing that doesn’t transfer is the rust warranty . You should be absolutely aggressive about getting that stuff fixed.
can confirm. 2nd owner of a 2021 TLX and took it to the dealership day after I bought it for a blown speaker. covered under warranty no questions asked.
By the way, you asked in the video whether or not you had the technology package… If you have the ASPEC, you are a trim level above Technology. I had a lot of more detailed things to share with you, but it looks you tube didn’t like how long it was or whatever and I can’t find the post now. There’s a lot of really great answers to the questions you have in the forums online… Look around for them. I can’t mention the websites by name or this post will probably get deleted. It’s the name of the car. And another one is the brand.
Emission check engine light came up on mine.😢
did you do this yourself? I’m deciding whether or not to take it to a shop or do it myself
Are those issues fixed for the 2023 tlx Aspec model? Especially the brakes. Also what aftermarket interior LED lighting do you recommend because the stock is not very bright and I would like something that is not a pain in the ass to install and is brighter and looks overall better.
You can control the brightness in the “ vehicle settings” when the car is in park. I mean it’s not going to get crazy bright, but you have to decide what looks good to you. The TLX is going to lean towards subtle and actually useful rather than bold. If you want something that looks like ground effects in the car, get a civic SI and embrace a much much larger aftermarket
My stereo sounds great in a 2019 TLX A-spec. Sounds just as good as my Mark Levinson in a Lexus.
Bro did that affect your car warranty? I wanted to do it to mine but I don’t know if I should because if anything like check engine light comes on if the dealer gonna fix it or not.
how is the drive with this car under weather conditions such as heavy rain ? snow ?
Did air intake cause check engine light?
Looks and sounds good! I got the same exhaust and was looking at blacking out the tips in either matte or gloss high heat paint.
I’m in process of buying a car rn looking between the tlx and accord 2.0 touring great video thanks
I was in the same boat as you, all the Accord touring I've seen near me were priced very high and tough to find. Found a 22 Tlx A Spec an hour away with only 4700 miles, CPO and only about a 5k difference (all accords I saw had 20k+ miles). Have had the TLX for about 2 weeks now, definitely feel the weight of the car but feels so planted to the ground, I'll accept the mpg hit
On the topic of Shawd and adaptive dampers. I think had you known about it Shawd definitely would've been ideal. As is, it is still an upgrade over an accord 2.0 so no reason to feel bad. For adaptive dampers you can't get that unless you get the advance package. You lose a lot of the cosmetic benefits of aspec if you get the advance and from watching reviews people say that the suspension is too soft overall compared to the aspec even on sport mode. So most people just forego the active dampers unless you get the type s
I also got a CPO 2021 acura tlx aspec Shawd back in August 2023. I also had the fakra issue, the dealership was able to fix it. It's pretty much good though it does occasionally crack once or twice very rarely and never sticks. The Puddle lights are a known issue, I've already had mine replaced twice. I think it's best to just forget they exist because the dealership takes a couple days to fix it everytime. I had electronic issues with inconsistent startup of Android auto but it seems to have been fixed now through either an Android auto update or a car update, not sure. I haven't had any of your other issues except for low speed braking being loud at times but I'm fine with it as it's not all the time and the brakes aren't new anyway. Since getting the fakra fixed it's been super reliable otherwise! Shawd is a must!
Probably get this question often but im looking at a used 2022, do you know of any known issues besides the brakes/rotors issue?
The Puddle lights will definitely still be a problem with this model year. I replaced them twice and honestly easier to forget they exist.
What kind of exhaust is that because recently I’ve been looking to get one for my car
Happy with my 2018 V6 ASpec. I LOVE the look and feel of the new gen but after driving one for a week while mine was in for the crankshaft recall, I was thrilled to get mine back. Biggest issue was that the 4-banger gets abysmal fuel economy compared to my V6.
engine and torque converter recalls
you just have a beautiful face. I have a 2007 Accord, but I just dream of such a car! you are good!
any chance you can post a short of the drone in the exhaust man i’m really interested in getting it myself but don’t want it too obnoxious inside the car
it sounds beautiful
thank you! the mic does NOT do it justice. will drop more videos of drive bys and what it really sounds like day-to-day because it's really nice at different gears and loads
What kind of exhaust is that
Wait nvm don’t reply just seen the end of the video lmao
😭; definitely you get what you pay for but I'm very happy with it. I feel like 4" would have fit the rear end better than 3.5" though. Best kit I've seen so far just for muffler delete but I'm debating on fully custom with a borla muffler
@@TastyRidesyou sure those are 3.5” and not 3”? My 3.5” quad burnt tips look larger
I'm sorry, but you can't say it's been "reliable" if you've only had it for two months. It's two months. No disrespect or criticism, but reliability is measured in years when it comes to vehicles, especially Honda and Acura. I appreciate the video, thanks for sharing. Also, you do not want the wireless anything. USB connection over Apple CarPlay or Android Auto will give you the best sound quality. Inferior audio quality is promised over wireless connections versus wired.
You're an idiot, from a safety perspective.
What tool did u use for cut the pipe ??
Thanks bro for the video ..!! I already buy mine and cant wait for install 🤩🤩
Enjoy brother!
I bought a 21 TLX and had a similar experience with the brakes. Had the car on adaptive cruise and the car in front put on brakes hard. My car braked hard enough to scare me , as there was a car on the side of the road stopped. My lane keep made the steering wheel wobble and the car came to a complete stop. Other than that, the brakes and the car feels amazing. Bought mine with 30k black on black, i call it the batmobile 😮
My brakes recently have been a bit louder again, the electro servo system. I'm not sure why but brake pressure feels fine? The assistance features do scare me from time to time. The LKAS in this and my old 19' Honda CR-V can get finicky and it gets annoying thinking I'm not driving straight because it sees a jagged line or tire marks. Major thing I had for a while is auto start stop stopped working but I think it may have been from jumping a co-workers car. Recently did an oil change at Valvoline and I guess when they tested my battery they charged it and it's back to normal. Only thing not working right now is puddle lights but I haven't bothered. I have a muffler delete, cold air intake, and plan to tune and do a RV6 downpipe and I don't know if they'll void my warranty.
@@TastyRides brakes feel solid on min 2:53 2:56 e😮. Never ever jump start anything .If you do the tune it will void your warranty. But , if you want type R performance with 320 plus HP ..go for it😮😮😅😮
Mine doesn't have the stop start feature. It's the base model. Or it's turned off. Love this thing.
Is the ride quality painfully rough?
It's pretty smooth. There is a option to get active dampers to make it softer when switching between Comfort, Normal, Sport but mine wasn't equipped with it from factory. I do plan on getting them down the line. This is definitely a noticeably stiffer car since it was tuned to be more sporty but it's also incredibly comfortable.
@@TastyRides ... So you can actually tell them to add active dampers if the one you picked does not come with it? That would be great. I love cars that look sporty but also comfortable cruisers.
