Besides, each race has their own design themes. I admit, in my eyes, Amarr's ships looked the fugliest even after the redesign. Then again.. I am a minmatar, so natural dislike to all things Amarr is to be expected xD

well the largest of the imperium are around 5-6 kilometers but if you look at the weapons they have you will see that they are capable of destroying entire world (exterminatus). The imperium had way bigger ships but this times are long gone.

Iluvatar Gott The exterminatus is reserved for planets, 6 kilometers isn't that big, relatively speaking, and past glory rarely counts for anything. Besides, the Eve universe has had it's fair share of golden ages and super weapons as well. The main thing that the Imperium would have on their side would be superior numbers, the space marines, and the Mechanicus. Psykers would also be a factor.

but they still have the nova canon and i think the shields of their ships are better (still some of eves ships have very good shields). someone should make a thread on spacebattles aso.

Yep, theres like a thousand or so parked around New Eden. Its mostly big corps and alliances that use them when their stations are under attack. Just to build one of those things takes 8 weeks and a special station. Insane.

I think either. Still dont know this game all that well but Scott Manley has a video all about the Titan ships and how they are built. I think what happens is they take a place in space, and build a place to build the titan, and then while the Titan is being built, all the other factions and corporations are trying to stop it from being built. So for like 8 weeks the area where the Titan is being built is constantly contested and being defended 24/7.

We'd mostly try to keep it away from prying eyes and in a system where enemies can't get massive forces into, so that we don't actually need to defend it 24/7. However, it still is a great prize to kill one of these while it is still in the cooker, so we are well aware that enemies would love to bring it down. If the building facility (A "POS" - Player Owned Starbase, which anyone can set up, but with special modules attached that can only be set up in player owned systems) comes under attack, it's pretty much a "drop everything; join the defence fleet" situation. It's not just that they require a special setup and dedicated defenders though, they also require enormous amount of investment in terms of resources. The second-to-last ship shown, the Revelation, is a Dreadnought, which you can buy and fit for somewhere around 3 billion ISK.
