I just quit a new job after 3 weeks. Why? It fit my strengths and on paper it was a good fit. The commute sucked due to traffic, there was no defined training program. They just put me at a desk and directed me the first week. No outline or structure. Too many social invitations after working hours that everyone participated in. The micromanaging of emails, SOPs and timed assignments. I knew right away that even if was a skills match the culture was not a good fit. It’s ok. Sometimes it doesn’t work out.

This seemed very promising but unfortunately I feel like my situation is futile. My workplace competition was given almost all of my work and I've been left with very little. Our supervisor won't allow me to do more. They lift up my coworker to the point this coworker is outdoing the manager. I haven't done anything to fail or underperform, they just decided to out me. I'm applying to new jobs. I hate going into work now because I just get undermined by them all day. I need to keep telling myself that I deserve better.

I'm feeling anxious going back to work now after I was attack by co-worker. Took FMLA for anxiety and safe leave that this guy triggered my anxiety/depression for disrespecting me and treaten to hurt me. Hopefully can extend my leave to get me better mentally, if not then will just resign coz is not worth a risk my life on hostile environment, especially they didn't do anything to the violent guy.

Every time i am placed on the register at work and a customer has an issue? I feel like my brain turns off, i cant hear, and im frozen in panic of how to help them....and its like im great with some things but i didnt get proper training...dont know how to do returns, exchanges, or even price changes....i see my other coworkers do these things effortlessly ((even though theyve been doing this for years)). Ive made mistakes pressing the wrong button and its all wrong and having to figure out how to fix it...ugh. i wish i felt more confident...it doesnt feel like itll get better and all i want to do is run away. Praying for everyone who is struggling with anxiety and fear 😔😔

I’m reading all these comments and I can relate. Right now it’s been 3 months since I begin this new job. Every single Monday my brain is like a mix between anxiety and sadness. In my previous job I used to feel useful, I knew what to do. Sometimes I regret about quitting that job, but I remember what a friend of mine told me “you have to pay the price of being a beginner”, it’s not easy at all but it allows you to get out of your comfort zone and grow both in a professional and a personal way. Sometimes I feel useless, like the dumbest employee in the company.

Hold off? are you out of your mind? and you call yourself a coach. OMG!!! If you feel that way, and don’t get the required support by your manager because that person also contributes to make you feel that way well just follow your gut and if that tells you that it is not the right place, just go for it and get away from that HELL!!! You are basically advising people to keep suffering and experience pain by crazy managers and a toxic working environment and culture.

There are managers who make an effort to put workers into a panic/survival state to capitalize on the disruption it causes the worker and/or to motivate a worker to complete tasks as quickly as possible. It is detrimental to employees who are already highly sensitive. Seems it would be better in some cases to use positive reinforcement and being open with the employee about their growth areas instead of weaponizing a person’s fear response. Perhaps it depends on your career and if it is high stakes. I am constantly invalidating my sense of being targeted. But sometimes you feel like someone is setting you up to fail only to call you out in a disingenuous manner not to actually help you grow.

I feel so insecure and overwhelmed, yet the job isn’t even that bad and I have good colleagues.
