Переглядів 843 роки тому
Welcome UA-cam family to another Renovation Innovation (Timelapse) video! This time I took a section of the shop that has been a “catch-all” for quite some time. Im not very fond of drawers. This whole area can become cluttered very quickly, so we decided to turn this into a man cave sitting area. Hope you guys enjoy the video while I take an old crankshaft from my truck and turn it into a tabl...
Renovation Innovation: Relax Sign
Переглядів 753 роки тому
Welcome UA-cam family to a new year! This is the first time timelapse video series of the new year. I'm taking one of the wall art pieces we've had laying around for almost 10 years, and giving it more of a weathered/aged look. This sign was painted by us at one point in time, and has been sitting two different garages for a total of 8 years. I hope you enjoy the "renovation" of this piece. Ple...

One watch and i am set to install! Perfect!
Is there a way to do this on an old home with wood siding and then later replace the siding?
Thank You, Blessings!
Thanks!
Exactly what I was looking for to make my soffits look uniform! Thanks for walking me through this! The only tricky part I think I'll have is where I have to go high on the ladder! 🙂
What kind of blade do I need to use, I tried to use my chopsaw and it seemed to have a blade with quite a few teeth but it chipped up the ends of the siding and didn’t make a great cut? Any suggestion on blades would be appreciated? Thanks
You lost me after you used screws on vinyl soffit..... defeats the expansion and contraction principle.
Thank you so much ! Very informal
Amazing masha'Allah
Thanks. My house had been constructed and they used staples to attach the soffits. Some have pulled loose. Had someone come out and they wanted $750 to fix a few droopy J channels. Your video motivated me to do it myself.
Squirrels eating my house up where do I purchase this?
What brand and color is that siding? I like it.
Exactly. What do I need to do on an old home, I just purchased. Very clean simple example. Thanks.
I have been in a discussion about soffit application and you mentioned leaving a little looseness in the flange connection for expansion contraction . This helps me to make my point on why you should not run nails or screws thru the material anywhere other than the slotted holes provided. Although sometimes it becomes necessary to use a trim nail here and there. The discussion is primarily about starting the soffit from top center of a rake and working down in both directions . Bending the top piece in the center and thus going backwards in one direction. I think its wrong for a few reasons.
What about baffles for insulation and screen to keep bugs out?
Why is vinyl fascia sold 8” and not 6” size of fascia board? 🤔
Does your kid know you brought his toys to work?
The channel along the house, is that nailed on? Mine is sagging and was wondering how it's attached. Tia
You are a fucking Ryobi guy of course 😂
The side j on the door should be mitered and notched I've seen enough 😂
hi my wife and i are enjoying your videos, they could do with longer viewing times with more detail of what your doing "NOT speeded up streams", Life elevated and trent and Allie have good streams. I read you got rid if Tracy, why did you get rid of her, where did she go, we hope she is safe!!!!!!.
Am I the only one who noticed how off the roof panels are
Where did you get the materials?
Very useful video; thanks. Too bad your neighbor was practicing drums the whole time though.
I’ve never installed soffit, reasons I’m here… but I’m pretty sure your Doing it wrong, so I am going to the next video. Thank you
Great video. Thanks
Nice video. Thanks. So I have a hip roof. How does the vertical trim piece finish out on the corners?
Why screws instead of nails?
Too slow & boring. They claim vinyl siding is least expensive. Not if you hire this guy by the hour. Put up some multi-colored stripes behind him. So you can tell he's actually moving.
Thank you , I needed this!
Very good. I like keeping it simple this is exactly what I needed to see. Now I can do it on my own. Thank you. 👍
What was the reason for cutting so many small soffit pieces?? Why not run the piece in one long piece? Is it because the pieces change in size as you go on? I dont think so? Right?
👍
5:00 where did u get that metal fascia piece? Can u link it?
Thanks. You made that a very simple to understand video.
Thank you. I am 64 disabled and you wouldn't believe the prices I have been given, so I've decided to do things for myself, and so far, I have saved 5k😅
By putting screws in the soffit panels you aren't going to have the expa sion and contraction the panels should have, just like vinyl siding. Nails would be a better option an use the in the nailing flange only.!!!
A little late now, but the reason they put ELONGATED HOLES in vinal siding is because it expands and contracts like crazy . DON'T NAIL IT REAL TIGHT !
Do not use screws in fascia metal. That looks terrible. Trim nails do the job and look much better
I'm not even going to view this vlog! Using the flag and professing that you're a veteran is a symptom of insecurity and a damned poor attempt to influence people. There are 16,500,000 veterans?? You didn't find it odd that no-one thanked for your service?
If your garage is cutrently insulated and you want to replace this on your garage how do you insulate behind this ?
Yeah, but how did you install the f-channel?
are those soffit screws or what kind are you using?
Note that this is not installed per manufacturer specifications and does not permit for proper expansion and contraction of the vinyl. This usually results in noisy siding/soffit material , especially after very hot days as the materials cool off.
Good grief... I could accidentally do better.
👍
do you have any close up pictures of the birdsmouth end? how did you finish that up?
The sides of my house were done in soffit; it's not meant to shingle water like siding does. I have Masonite soffits and the support at the top of the wall is all termite eaten so I'm looking at replacing all of it. I like the vented. I'm going to put new siding on because I need to replace the Masonite lap board on the walls with OSB.
You just save me 3 g
I cannot believe there's not anything underneath of that like a piece of wood, I would not be okay with that if that was my attic
Your attic needs to breathe id be very concerned if it were blocked by plywood
