Stepping into Analog Photography: My first editorial shot on 35mm film
Переглядів 7 тис.6 місяців тому
Behind the scenes of my first editorial photoshoot using 35mm film. Hope you enjoy :) Model: @rashawnbanz Stylist: @stxck6233 BTS: @htuns_of_fun
can you do a video editing the originals scans ?
I’ll put some of them in my next editing video! 🙏
Which lens do you recommend ?
I’d recommend the 50mm 1.8 for the SLR type of film cameras! Even fully analog like the AE-1 or F3 I’d still try and get a 50mm. Something about that mm feels like what your eyes see.
sick man
Thank you! 🙏🙏
Killed it as always 🔥
Yooo I appreciate it!! 🙏
thank you for inspiring me brotha, just followed you on IG and have been keeping up with your videos on here🔥💙
Always here to try and inspire! I appreciate you following along. So much more coming 🙏🙏
Dope videos man. You have been my film photography motivation and inspiration. My 630 just arrived today and I’m still on the fence on which 645 to go with. How is the focusing on the model you’re using? Are you able to get really good sharp focus easy?
I appreciate that a ton man! Have fun with the 630 it’s a great camera. As far as my 645 set up I’d say my Mamiya 645E is a great beginner medium format for a lot of reasons but it is manual focus and with that comes a lot of trial and error especially when shooting wide open at 2.8. I do miss focus about every 3rd or 4th shot so you gotta be really intentional. I’d maybe try a rangefinder people say they’re easier to focus!
I ended up picking up the Mamiya RB67. Got a great deal on one. The 630 I got was defective. Drained the hell out of my $20 battery for no reason. lol. Ended up sending it back and buying the EOS Elan 2 for a good deal. I’ll hit you up on IG and let you know.
your shit is fucking wild bro !!
Thank you bro!! Appreciate you tapping in🤝
Awesome video! I’m going to use these tips with my Minolta X-700 and see how they improve my shots. Thanks for sharing with the film community!
That’s awesome! Hopefully they help 🙏 always trying to give back!
Bro this is so dope. I do photography on Sony cameras but film has always been something I would like to try. Any recommendations on a camera body for someone just getting into film?
Thank you! Yeah man I would recommend picking up a canon eos 630, 650, or any of the canon slr’s that have interchangeable lenses. Theres always some on Facebook marketplace haha super user friendly!
@@SkylerWagoner awesome thanks for the reply

Man I love your work
Thank you! So much more to come 🙌
That bus stop shot is insane!
Thanks so much! 🙏
Good to see a video from you bro. Ive been enjoying CineStill800t shot at 400iso during the day, developed normally. Been loving CineStill400D box speed and pushed a stop a lot too. Got some great results shooting some ektachrome with a warming filter.
I appreciate these recommendations! Super interested to see what that cinestill 800t looks like at 400 actually
@SkylerWagoner yeah man I don't think you would be dissapointed! Gets rid of the tungsten wash of the film stock so daytime looks really good and cinematic. I shot my City/skyline that way, and one of my homies and his car with awesome results. Made a couple prints of a few shots I was so happy with the results and edits. Appreciate you bro much love
Ahh man I swear we be having the same ideas been wanting to shoot cinematic portraits for a min
Ayeee get after it bro! 🤞
How often do you use your flash?
Not very often in my personal work but I do on occasion if I feel like the shot needs more direct light or I want that aesthetic!
Learned so much from you bro
I love that bro always here! 🤝
congrats on the new client
Thanks so much! 🙌
I got gifted two rolls of portra 800 and I can’t wait to shoot them and see the outcome, seeing these shots make me excited 💫
Heck yes! Portra 800 is a classic. You’ll love it! Thanks for tapping in 🙏
so sick

FTWS SHOTS GO CRAZY!!!!!!!
Yo thank you for noticing!! 🫵😤❤️
you the man!
You legend! Couldn’t have done it without you bro. Thank you 🙌
Dey Dey from Kyle’s vlogs?!
15:15 was money ! Nice work man, to you and the model. I know what a day like that brings, and how tiresome it can be but...clearly it was worth it. Great images + video.
I appreciate you watching and saying that! It was definitely a long day of shooting but I’m glad I went with my gut and wanted to try out this shot. Brought the whole shoot to life 🙌
Shoot some Ektachrome, cinematic and nostalgic feels
I’ve heard so many good things about it! Adding to the list ✔️ thanks brotha
Loving your work so much! Recently got into film photography with my canon ae-1 program. Just got a fuji gx680 and amazed by the quality. excited to take it again to the streets and hopefully get someone to record my shoot
Thank you so much! Canon ae-1 is such a great film camera! That Fuji look super epic tag me in the results if you post. Would love to see what you create with it! If you can’t get anyone to film for you bro just vlog or tripod it. Either way stoked to see what you create
I tried ektar 100 and love it for darker skin tones, for brighter ones they're too red, but darker they're amazing
I actually agree with this a lot! My last video I used Ektar on 120 on someone with dark skin tones and they came out great.
Brodie the long exposure shots were crazy. Steady with the inspo!
I appreciate that bro! First time doing it on medium format!
Was waiting on another upload!💯
I got you!! Thank you for sticking around 🤞🤞
