You're an inspiration, my man. I second what you said about working with artists - I, too, love working with other creatives. Musicians tend to know who they are and unapologetically express it to the world, which makes our job as photographers easy and the subject so much more interesting. I don't do this as my day job but I'm feeling myself more and more drawn towards portrait photography for artists, so your tips regarding making the most out of bts shoots are very valuable. Thank you for sharing.
instant sub. absolutely STUNNING work. this also feels like the videos that i love to watch about photography >> the influency type photogs. thank you for sharing your talent with us & now im going to go find you on socials
Thank you so so much!! I always want my videos to be entertaining and educational at the same time. I’m not much of an influencer haha I appreciate you!!
So sick bro! Definitely subbed! I had a question bro. Typically, for the shoots indoors, what focal length to you typically like? 24?28?35?50? I’m starting to schedule my first Portrait shoots and I wanna try out different focal lengths but not sure what to use!
Thanks for the sub dude! Definitely recommend 35mm and up for portraits lenses. Anything under 35mm distorts the subject a bit. Which isn’t always bad! I just stick with anywhere between 35mm-100mm
Loved this, spot on flash exposures too! What flash settings are you using? TTL? Any exposure compensation? Currently using EOS 1V and 600EX. Sometimes inaccurate
Thank you! So I was using my 430 EX II on ETTL where the camera uses information obtained through the lens to calculate how much light the flash needs to emit for the appropriate brightness. That’s why they were exposed so well, I’d imagine!
Loving your content dude! I’m looking to level up my photography and your tips have been so helpful! Also how do you nail your exposure shooting on 35mm film i also own a 630 but can’t seem get my lighting right
Thanks so much! I’m glad they are helpful for you 🙏 I shoot in manual mode but the 630 has a light meter that’s built into the view finder. When the meter is right at 0 (in the middle) you have a properly exposed photo!
@@QamarCaelum cheers man! It’s definitely an experimental endeavor but once you find what you like it becomes so fun. You never know how each shot will look at that is the beauty of film photography.
This is what UA-cam is missing actual behind the scenes of showing how you direct with the most simple set up need more of these videos please .
I appreciate you saying that and I got you!! 🙏 more on the way!
Gotta say your sense of posing and directing people is so fun to watch, you make them feel comfortable around the camera, love to see it!
Thank you so much! That’s always the goal. Once they feel comfortable the shots start getting so much better and natural feeling 🙏

Yo! This video is sick dude!! Subbed!
Yooo thank you so so much!! 🤞🤞
Love it 👍
@@ZirkaPhoto thanks so much!!
Killing it like always! Do you shot Portra at box speed or @200
Thank you! 🙏 At box speed! My light meter does expose the image darker sometimes which gives it that moody look.
@@SkylerWagoner thank you so much dude!! Amazing work as always 🫶🏼🫡

Thank you! My film cameras have light meters built in!
@@SkylerWagoner thank you for you response! I went through all your videos. I look forward to more so please don’t stop.
Good job.
Thank you!
If i could ask how frequently you used the flash?
Maybe 3 or 4 times throughout the whole shoot! Just use it when I want that point and shoot look or if the image needs more light 💡
HI Skyler, i found a canon 630 for 30 usd, is it good price? and should i go for it
Heck yeah that’s super cheap! If it’s in good condition I’d say do it.
@@SkylerWagoner thank you bro, finally my first film camera 🤣

How do u get in touch with the artist?
In this instance he reached out to me! A lot of my work is word of mouth but I’ve also sent DM’s to some artists and was able to shoot just from that.
was that luke christopher?
@@projectthirtyfive yes! The goat
Lomo 800 is actually more expensive then portra so still portra team 😜
Haha I feel this!! You can get a pretty similar look for sure. All preference 🙌
your shit is fucking wild bro !!
Thank you bro!! Appreciate you tapping in🤝
