🌞🌻ABOUT THE CHANNEL🌻🌞
Bored of the usual vanilla, ‘Pollyanna-esque’ allotment/gardening vlog formats that saturate UA-cam, we decided to start our own, unique channel in 2023. Follow the adventures of our family as we navigate life on two allotment plots based in Devon in the UK. The Allotment Family Diary offers a light-hearted, realistic and informative look at the daily running of two large allotment plots. Chocked with dry-wit and lovingly edited, we film hours of footage each month to bring you weekly episodes that document life at our allotment plots, and sometimes outside of them.
🌷🌻ABOUT THE ALLOTMENT FAMILY🌻🌷
Tilly and Nick have maintained their plot for almost ten years now, and Tom (their son), Han (Tom's wife), and Flo (Tom and Han's daughter) acquired theirs in May 2023, with a plot extension in Feb 2024. Look forward to seeing Alfie (an elderly lurcher) and Tor (a young Romanian rescue dog) joining us in our diaries, as well as our 6 chickens (new additions to the Allotment Family), and various stray cats and other wildlife that call the allotment their home.

Another great vlog! Funny, informative and wholesome as ever. Sometimes nature throws a curve ball, but you guys did all the right things as I have seen from your other videos. I bet the veg was still very tasty ❤

Yes, Peter. Nature certainly likes to challenge us gardeners! The veg was still very tasty despite the nibbles. TY for watching :)

Great tomatoes you harvested, i hate thieves- just lazy buggers is what they are, the carrots are not too bad- edible still♥ Although the majority of the 10,000 known species of millipedes are beneficial, certain species are pests of crops, including potatoes, sugar beet, carrots, sweet potato, cole crops, strawberries and peas and beans. Yours looked like young millipedes - not worms.

Ty, Anne! I had my suspicions about millipedes as have read they too like to have a good old munch on carrots. Managed to peel a few carrots and get the good bits in a pie. Went down well with the family! TY for watching :)

Thank you for the great tips on planting and covering the brassicas! Looks great! On the sad note... hope you catch your thief with evidence and justice will be served. They are stealing more than items... they are stealing everyone's peace of mind and community trust. Praying for better days ahead!🙏Blessings everyone! 🌻🐛🌿💚🙏💕

Firstly I've now caught up having binged watched from the start and enjoying following your families adventures 😊... It's just soul destroying to know that some little A. H. Would rather steal from their Allotment neighbours than put the hard work in and grow there own.... Most allotment growers would happily give you some fruit and veg if asked, but stealing would make my blood boil too...

Yes, definitely agree. I’d happily donate produce if people really needed it. They just have to ask. Thank you following our journey ☺️

Omg that’s so sad 😭 Why do people do that? I’m sure they wouldn’t like it if they were stolen from 😞

Absolutely gutted and rather angry that someone thinks it’s alright, to come on to the land you rent, for your own produce and pleasure, and take what they please with out asking. Genuinely disgusting and disappointing that someone in the community is taking the absolute biscuit here, I really hope for yourselves and the rest of the community that the thief is caught, and if on the site, removed. This isn’t what allotment sites or communities are for and neither shall the stand for it

Totally agree. It’s such a shame that a rotten few have to make things miserable for others. Plans are in place and hopefully in time the thief will slip up and we’ll catch them. Ty for watching ☺️

Tysm for watching. The theft is ramping up so we’ve put some plans into play. Time will tell…

Yeah, the thieving thing is really disturbing. Only takes one scum bag to wreck a whole communities wellbeing. We had a parasite jumping the fence and stealing several times from our garden centre. Put an electric stock fence around it and it stopped. Never caught the prick though.
