OMGSISA graphicsz
I have a 7.5 inch screen hdmi/usb built in this would be great for want to make a retro IBM 550 case for the MB out of a HP 400 G6
You can use a projector screen inside a box with a semi transparent screen for a crt style screen or take a led screen remove the backlight and put a lightbulb inside the box... The thing to have crt style it need to have a strobing backlight too...
Nice work. Have you seen the guy that created a analog monitor with a laser pointer?
I searched for dos version of thinkin things collection one and two but unfortunately some certain Macintosh are dos or pc compatible.
Hi, do you paint your parts or did you use a filament with that beige colour? If you used a filament, which one?
as a great keyboard youtuber put it: 'cherry is shit and alps is the tits' and i agree - these are one of the best switcher ever made. i particularly enjoy the shallower travel, 4mm is a bit too much for me while 3.5 seems to be the sweet spot. if you want something even more satisfying give the AEK I a try that has orange alps switches.. i have a IIGS keyboard that is just perfect if you're into tactile ones. anyway how has it worked out for you? any chance of a follow-up video about it?
can i have your wallpaper? pleeease? : )
Hej. Snyggt jobbat, gillar dina video:s. Undrar om ni har någon PCB logic board kvar och tillsalu?
Great Job !!!!
We had one of these, our first computer we actually bought... instead of brought home from the work bin. Yeah it was $2000 dollars in 1998, with a printer, scanner, steering wheel, tons of bundled games. Still trash.
Pretzel Logic was a 1970s Steely Dan album, so likely an homage.
Great machine in its time! I remember dealing with graphical issues almost daily haha... greetings! 😄
Doing a diy monitor myself, which led me here. Wish i had a 3d printer to make stuff like this. I'll likely be stuck going with wood and painting it beige to hopefully trick peoples eyes.
10:20 “an ocular pat down” 👀
Ocular inspection lol 😂
6:41 No sockets are available for these kinds of chips, instead of directly soldering them? Maybe the legs won’t be good for a socket once they’ve been soldered once before.
Sure they could be socked, but that can also be a source of errors. And like you say, reused chips may not have good legs for sockets. But mainly I just wanted to maintain the original look as much as possible!
Still able to find those games and download onto floppy disk?
why dont we just port chrome for vampire?
I miss this channel.
Would've been cooler if you added the disk drive detail some of them had
Very nice job!
Como y donde ordeno la pcb
hola quiero hacer una replica de la placa del ese macintosh pero no tengo los comonentes me podroas ayudar
Thank you *so much* for uploading the content of the disk that came with with it! I am myself the proud owner of an SC-7, but I hadn't been able to find many official demo songs for it. But someone reminded me of your video, and I was able to extract the official demos from the disk image using Infinite Mac. I'm very excited to listen to them!
Ah, it seems like they might all be re-used SC-55 demo songs, which I already had, and there's some problems with a couple of them. Maybe the data on the disk got slightly corrupted or something. That's a shame. On the other hand, I'm very glad that this Ballade™ software was preserved. I was happy to discover it actually properly supports the SC-7! It lets you customize the reverb and chorus settings, not just the levels for each channel, and it knows about all the drumkits. They were kind enough to include support for GS (i.e. the SC-55) and the MT-32 in this version of the software also.
When I upgraded mine back in 1998 I added a Z4 board & Picasso II gfx card, I called it the Death Star! Yours is more Darth Vader, on life support and a mess on the inside. 😂
Did u ever get to check the rtc replaced for the se ?
should of added a heavy power bank in the crt shell to power the entire pc, or at least heavy metals to weight down the crt from feeling like a little toy ❤
I think EIZO monitor is never pesky at all...
Very Perfect ❤👏
why didn't you socket the motherboard for the chips that could be sockets such as the CPU and FPU?
Yup, it's the "journey" that is the important part... as well as playing Dark Castle. 🙂
This is my favorite keyboard, I use this every day for iMac running vim.
Found this video in quest of researching where this board I found in my attic came from, after trying to steal its BIOS chip to flash it for another board and I always read and save first. I noticed Voodoo 3 in hex dumb and was like... what the hell is going on here... 🤔
Jan Beta has a passionate of kontifying the Amiga systems
Can you share a link to the KiCad schematics?
test sbemu & setmul wit it!
Some Cyrix chips had a slightly faster instruction pipeline than their Intel counterparts, and lots of times were faster WINGUI Office machines, there were even GUI accelerated video cards that worked better with Cyrix chips but would fall behind in floating point intensive software.
New life goal: Get hold of one of those motherboards with onboard 3dfx Voodoo! And then print a small custom case for it!
Monster is back for Amiga IceDrake Baby! I LOVE IT!!! ❤❤
Great video. So much good info.
What is the name of the motherboard?
Awesome job on the repair :)
What an outstanding project. I bet it was very rewarding to finally get it booting
Could you add links of the threads you referenced for parts and such? Maybe going over ordering parts and the new mobo would be a good video idea.
i've been thinking for ages about Retro/CRT style monitors and have been wanting to design and build one myself, so the joy i felt when i found this video is indescribable. would love to see similar content! thank you for sharing this with the internet :)
Windows NT (2000 and XP) is not very happy when change some things in theirs hardware configuration, mainly the chipset and in the particular the storage interface adapter. So, the best is to use an PC with the same (or close enough) chipset or to install on the machine that you will use. Why did you not use a optical drive connected to the machine? Just had you hooked as primary slave or cable select on the same IDE cable. Another option is to delete everything from that CF card (except the system files: command com, io.sys and msdos.sys) and copy the i386 folder from the Win2k CD on the CF card and run setup. If you can, may upgrade the memory to 256M or 512M (the integrated graphics take some memory) for windows 98. Also for linux the memory can be maxed to maybe 1G if the RAM is DDR1. Another useful upgrade can be using an small SATA HDD or SSD (laptop formfactor) with an IDE to SATA adapter and a IDE CD/DVD (even a slimline one with an adapter); that 8G CFcard is quite small and with few installed games it will fill up quickly, even if you use an USB stick for storing the game iso files. Another option can be to use one USB port for a cardreader with USB port that was used on the front panels in 2000s, that way you can use a 64G SD card for secondary drive to store iso files and have a front panel USB port, leaving the rear USB for a keyboard/mouse combo. Very nice project, I would like to find a similar board to make such a lovely mini retro PC.
Hi, interesting video. Do you know where to find the 2 "Sony" chips if you had to change them? They're rebranded Apple, but I'm talking about the 2 sound chips...?
Wow what a fun video, how does this not have more views?? Thank you for filming all this, can’t imagine the patience required to tackle this!
You should try a PiStorm with Pi4 and Emu68 in your nice A1200 Tower, that will accelerate it like you never seen before.
No bad, Specs are more respectable than other boards over the last few years. If only we could get a 2.5Ghz CPU and full hot plugable USB2.0 support.
