Hoover Dam Tour 2022!
Lake Mead was regularly in the news during the summer of 2022 because of record-low water levels. At the time of this recording, Lake Mead measured at 1,044.03 feet, its lowest elevation since it was was filled in the 1930s. If the reservoir drops another 150 feet, it will no longer be able to flow through the dam.
This record-breaking drought has also brought memories of old Las Vegas to the surface, literally, as bodies have been found trapped in barrels, presumably sunken decades ago by the mob.
Overall the Hoover Dam is one of the top destinations I recommend visiting anywhere in the United States. It's not only one-of-a-kind here, but anywhere in the world. The tour team is excellent and it was a great experience overall.

Mayan Ruin Exploration! Chacchoben Temples - Costa Maya, Mexico
Переглядів 4,7 тис.2 роки тому
The Chacchoben ruins outside of Costa Maya, Mexico are some of the most visited Mayan ruins in the world, and it's easy to see why. A place once reserved for sacred rituals and ceremonies is now explorable after centuries of obscurity. An American archaeologist named Dr. Peter Harrison was hosted by the Cohuo family in 1972 as he led an expedition sponsored by the Royal Ontario Museum and Tulan...

Hidden Urban Kayaking - McCoy's Creek, Jacksonville, FL - September 2021
Переглядів 5 тис.3 роки тому
McCoy's Creek is one of Jacksonville's "worst kept secrets" and we explore this incredible urban kayaking spot in today's video. Located off the St. Johns River, McCoy's Creek is accessed via a 600ft. tunnel traveling under the Times Union building in Downtown Jacksonville. Filmed in September 2021, the city of Jacksonville plans to remove the tunnel in the upcoming months, changing it into an ...
Gator Hunting! Guana River Marsh Aquatic Preserve - Ponte Vedra, FL August 2021
Переглядів 7183 роки тому
Guana River Marsh Aquatic Preserve has the highest concentration of alligators in St. Johns County. At last count, an estimated 2,000 alligators call the preserve home. On today's Dadventure, I went actively hunting for alligators. The preserve covers 12,000 acres, which were acquired by the state of Florida in 1984 because of their environmental sensitivity and to protect several species of th...
Beautiful Kayaking - Doctors Lake - Florida Paradise
Переглядів 4153 роки тому
Another incredible kayaking trip to Doctors Lake in Clay County, FL. This is an amazing place to kayak, under the right conditions. Today, it was rather rough because of strong winds and the boat traffic. The best advice is to stick to the shoreline for an easier go. You will also have a better chance at seeing the wildlife which calls this lake home. Located off the St. Johns River, Doctors La...
Kayaking Faver Dykes State Park - August 2021 - St. Johns County, FL
Переглядів 1 тис.3 роки тому
Impromptu visit to Faver Dykes State Park on the southern end of St. Johns County, FL. Although serene, today's Florida kayaking trip was a bit lackluster with barely any wildlife in sight. Faver-Dykes State Park is a Florida State Park located 15 miles south of St. Augustine, near the intersection of US 1 and Interstate 95. A designated canoe trail, the waterway through the park connects to th...
Fort Matanzas Kayaking + Secret Quarry!
Переглядів 1,8 тис.3 роки тому
Kayaking in St. Augustine is incomplete without a trip to Fort Matanzas. This fort, completed by the Spanish in 1742, is older than the nation itself and protects St. Augustine's southern inlet. The smaller of the two forts, Fort Matanzas is only 50 feet wide by 30 feet high. The fort, and surrounding 228 acres, were added to the National Park Service in 1924. Over 1 million visitors per year c...
Hidden Treasure! Perfect Intracoastal Kayaking - Bing's Landing, Palm Coast, FL
Переглядів 1,8 тис.3 роки тому
This trip to Bing's Landing in Flagler County, FL was VERY different from my last time kayaking this location. The boat traffic was INSANE which made navigating the main Intracoastal waterway nearly impossible. Because of this, we ended up heading south and came across this beautiful hidden creek! We would have completely missed this if we went north as planned. Once back there, we saw tons of ...

We also get up close and personal with Florida's Fountain of Youth and the Lady of La Lec...
Kayaking Doctor's Lake
Переглядів 1373 роки тому
Kayaking Doctor's Lake in Clay County, FL should be considered an intermediate area simply because of all the boat traffic. We went out on a relatively calm day weather-wise, but so did all the boaters. Sticking to the edges is the way to go, but plan on at least 2 hours to get all the way around, possibly 3. We ended up cutting across the middle which made the trip shorter, but put us right in...

I have not paddled McCoys Creek but I have paddled the St Johns from Exchange Club Island to downtown. I was joined by a pod of more than 50 dolphins. They were zipping all around me..taking turns looking at me up close. They are Big animals and were curious about the kayak..they could have easily flipped me but they just kept doing dolphin stuff.
I wouldnt be scared of gators i would be worried about dead bodies thts a rough area alot of shootings ive never seen any gators near there I grew up on the st johns too I only seen some in ortega or further south on the st johns great video.
You always shake like that or is it just from what you had in that little bag you put the loctight on? 😅
The sculpture is about the great fire of 1901. It burned to the water right there and several people died jumping in the river to escape.
Jacksonville and Duval County merged on Oct.1 1968, not the 50s
There was a turn table bridge for the trains before that one. Henry Flagler had it built in the 1800s to get trains to his resorts in South Florida.
Unbelievable man! Gators are the least of y'all's problems! You are in the absolute middle of the hood, especially the further you go up in there!
Exactly be worried about getting capped
Access road getting to the launch is complete crap. Even in our 4x4 truck deal with almost a mile of broken concrete, pot holes, etc.
Why wearing cloth masks outside? Or anywhere for that matter? Silly.
I have been up there 6 times. it is a great hike and not too long. It is rated extremely difficult but as long as you are doing it in cooler weather it is not that hard. I live in Minnesota, it's about 1000 feet ASL here in the Twin Cities area which is about the same as Phoenix, the top of Piestewa is 2612 feet ASL. I've done a lot of hiking in AZ and never really experienced any problems with the elevation. I've done both routes up Camelback, that's a great hike also. The most challenging and rewarding hike I have ever done in the Phoenix area is Flatiron, it is more difficult but the views are worth it, I highly recommend it, just bring gloves and plenty of water.
Supposedly there is a spring there, any thoughts / sighting?
Nice! Been looking for some places to kayak with my kid in Jax. Hate driving in Jax 😂
Ya I wouldn’t do Jax waterways. At least the one on mainstreet under the bridge by the frisbee golf course is literally a cesspool for waste where homeless just pee/poop straight into the River. It has to run off right near where McCoys is. It might even connect to under the bridge where they do it. It’s absolutely disgusting. Looks like a straight up sewage plant where they stay under the bridge. Gotta stay out in the river or not downtown lol
They have lots of camp sites....and 2 walking trails. I planned to kayak my next visit...it stormed the day I visited.
Creating the US in the islands...shame that America needs to be recreated in these ports to satisfy American tourists....
If look up at the beginning of the arch tunnel it says “1928”

What do y’all charge per person? Thanks..
Wooioooo hooooooooo
I love it that there's people who lived in Florida for years and still think alligators are gonna try and kill u. Lol alligators don't want anything to do with us unless there being fed by humans then they will get aggressive come looking for food. But other than that gators don't want anything to do with us. Also the only crocodiles we have here in Florida are way way south Florida in tue everglades. And everything else snapper turtles gator snappers and your common Florida snappers are harmless. Also the pic u showed was a alligator gar amd they are becoming quite scarce in Florida. But there are alot of Florida spotted gars which don't get very big and we have long nose gars that are harmless as well. The gars just suck getting off your line that's all. I've lived in Okeechobee and taken my kayak out on the big lake during breeding season and right right through Hu dress of gators before some bigger than my yak and they just slip off the bank or go under amd wait for me to leave. I've fished right in the middle of some big males and females trying to mate and caught bass right by gators. Honeslty salt water is way more dangerous to fish in a yak then anything because of the sharks once u hook into a fish depending where your at u gotta get it in quick so the sharks don't get your fish. Oh amd the sharks will come right up to your yak especially if u gotta fish on so salt water fishing is more extreme in a kayak. Anyways love kayak fishing and keep up all the good vids brother
The video would be better if We didn't have to struggle to hear what this lady was saying. Sure if you really try you can get it. I think it's a great video it's just the sound quality that prevents people from pressing the like button.
Did they put the Christmas tree there?
Beautiful views I want to go one day. So sad to hear about how low the lake is. Great and informative tour! Thanks 😊
Thanks for watching!
At 985 feet the lake goes dead pool. At 950 feet the billion dollar third straw stops. Then, Las Vegas will have to trick in water.
I was there the spring of 2002 and June 25th 2022 this time with kids. Absolutely amazing for several reasons.
Not much of a dam anymore. Soon to be just a giant cement wall in the middle of the dry desert.
Lily really seemed to enjoy herself! ❤️❤️
Going tomorrow morning!! Thank you, stumbled upon this video and feel better with guidance lol.
Glad it helps! If you're going to check it out, do it soon, the city is opening up the tunnel.
Lol two dummies saying first
This seems to be a very charming place, I hope I can visit sometime in the future. Seeing and sharing places like this is why I love traveling and make videos so much! And please keep up the great job! Subscribed!!
Thanks, really appreciate it! Roatan was incredible and the people so grateful to have travelers again. Their economy is almost 100% tourism so I highly recommend visiting and tipping well.
Pretty sure its not fresh water. Brackish at best.
Glad to see someone else take on McCoys Creek! Not sure if you saw my videos paddelboarding through but cool to see a kayaker's perspective on the creek. They're going to be doing a ton of work on both McCoys and Hogans Creek to make them flow better, protect against flooding, and improve biodiversity in the coming decade so stay tuned for that. Here are my videos on the subject: ua-cam.com/video/SKYS5TrET88/v-deo.html ua-cam.com/video/SEuWHnseDVw/v-deo.html ua-cam.com/video/c1dQCKaeeWY/v-deo.html
Lol idk how but i was on the cruise dont see myself in it sadly but I enjoyed it:)
correction it was the 1960s not 50s
contaminated that is a autoficial cre ak the actual creak was buried alive
Fun video all the way. Especially the cheeto dump. 12:58
Ha, thanks! Gotta feed the fish.
Did you put in at the Helen Mellon park and if so, how far of a paddle is it to the fort? Thank you.
Yes. The fort is quite a ways from Helen Mellon Park. I recommend putting in at Rattlesnake Island to get there in about 30 minutes.
I paddled a little bit of that creek. I got to the over pass and there were homeless people shooting up drugs. Needless to say...I turned around and went back to the St. Johns
Great video btw
Yeah Pottsberg on Beach Blvd by All Wet Sports is like that but still one of the best places to paddle in the city.
For the train, that's the FEC Strauss Trunnion Bascule Bridge. It was completed in 1929, I believe. And has been in operation ever since.
When paddling against the current, try to stay closer to the edges. Its easier
The current in the St Johns is hella strong. I went to hang out under the Matthews Bridge and wow. Current is powerful
And we sat under the train several years ago in our boat
