While I'm very flattered by the compliments, I don't think it's very nice to demean MOTI's Bad Guys like that. That one was actually one of two significant inspirations for this remaster. the other being Bright Torch's Also, MOTI did not spend one day to make it, they spent at least a month bare minimum cooking up their video I'm not mad, just a bit put off by the tone haha

I'm not saying MotI's was bad, and I never really had much of a grasp on what actually happened during Songtober, so I assumed it was just a day to make the song in its entirety. So I understand a bit more about that now I just really think this is peak bad guys and I exaggerated by saying his was much worse

You have Raven to thank for that awesome Moustache Girl voice ! She has done such a freaking excellent job at portraying her voice :)

I'm glad and a tad honoured you enjoyed this one, I was trying to do Mustache Girl the justice she deserved, as her whole thing in the game proper isn't great haha. Raven's vocals were absolutely insane and I love them sm, she just kinda GOT it, y'know? I'm glad you found this at least a bit captivating and hope that the eventual Hat Kid version will have the same effect And yeah, tysm for the feedback! If this were to become a larger scale project, I'd likely ask you to help with writing as I agree that a chunk of my writing is a bit stilted, for lack of a better term. As for Mustache Girl's whole thing, I actually was partially spurred to write Mustache Girl's adapted story in this after re-reading that old Twitter thread where we were talking about MG and Hat Kid both being missed potential. I agree with your points, and am trying to sort of incorporate a bit of that into Lyrical Rift. It's not perfect, but it's the least I can do with what I have P.S. For Lyrical Rift's full video, I rewrote Hat Kid and Mustache Girl's ending to be more characterful as I feel like giving both of them a good ending point would have been nice. I have the feeling you might like it P.S.2. I removed the A Little Help From My Friends bit too, mostly because: 1) I hated that bit so much, I just thought it was so out of place and completely inane and incomprehensible, and I hate how it sort of fed into the fandom idea that Hat Kid was some kind of "loved by all" person who made a bunch of friends 2) I wanted to centralise this fight on just Hat Kid vs Mustache Girl. I couldn't get rid of it gameplay-wise obvs, but lorewise it's nonexistent and the fight between the two is a solo thing. This also means that, technically, Hat Kid in Lyrical Rift is a lot stronger than canon, so lmao P.S.3. Better than the Xbox 360 fight me /j

I’ve had my own ideas for a rewrite since we last got to chat so it’ll be cool to see how our approaches line up/differ!!

Admittedly - The rest of Lyrical Rift as it is now has a bit of an issue tying back into the main story, as much of it was made from the perspective of "How would this fit in as a standalone thing following the game's lore", but the parts with Hat Kid and MG were scripted to be more character-based as yeah, those two need the most work. I'm not sure if you've seen the rest of it, but I did try to fix more minor issues, such as Vanessa's lack of presence and (to me at least) horror factor, as well as, as mentioned earlier, omitting the whole My Friends Are My Power bs from the original bc again, that is just something I despise lol I'm excited to see your idea for a rewrite though, as I remember being a big fan of both your initial concepts from that Twitter thread and the Reddit rewrite you proposed on r/AHatInTime. Where would you be posting it?

I guess I didn’t fully register who’d seen it, haha, I’m afraid I haven’t developed it PAST that but I’d be interested in doing so (or sharing thoughts if you’re struggling a bit with how to write things from here) If you’d ever like to chat more - either about this or just generally - I’d be interested in exchanging Discords or something! You’re probably the only person (outside my immediate friend group) I’ve been able to have good talks with about this sorta stuff and admittedly I’ve barely been using the hellsite that is Twitter anymore, lol

Though I should warn you that the uh cutscene you refer to will *not* be in AHIT Lyrical Rift - This is for the sake of centralising the story of the ending a little bit more and also just plain because I hated it That being said, if you would like to see an adaptation of that ending, I'd recommend Bright Torch Productions' AHIT The Musical, who I think managed to pull it off super well

@@Mk-mz8zt Less that it's lame, more that it comes out of nowhere and kind of destroys the flow of the story and makes Mustache Girl out to be purely the bad guy with little to no nuance to it beyond that point As someone who really likes the idea behind Hat Kid and Mustache Girl's dynamic, it sucks seeing the game butcher it in favour of an Undertale reference haha

I felt dissatisfied with the original You Are All Bad Guys With Lyrics, so I spent a LOOONG time writing out 2 different versions of it, this one and one for Hat Kid I hope you'll like Hat Kid's version just as much when that comes out btw!

None of this would have been possible without Dark's existing lyricisation of A Forsaken Place Reprise from Tale of Subcon Forest (on Raven's channel), that I sort of borrowed some elements from and twisted into a darker, more evil version of A Forsaken Place I really love how this one in particular turned out bc, as said before, I was dissatisfied with how Snuff Out The Light turned out, so this is sort of my Anti-SOTL to give Vanessa the justice she deserved

Yes he is! This is one of the changes I made to LR on the basis of "I thought it was cool", mostly bc it doesn't have much of an impact on the story And thank you - That took a while to get down

@@gamingwithandrea449 Precisely this one was reassigned to Lyrical Rift Alter haha - A Forsaken Place just has more of that sheer horror and scariness that Vanessa's manor should embody imo and was far more effective from a story standpoint Snuff Out The Light is good, but it falls way too short of what I wanted Vanessa to be like and seemed too campy and artificially edgy The fighting gameplay is from a mod called Queen Vanessa's Boss Fight, which also stars Raven as Vanessa

Tysm - The lyrics were very hard to write bc of the amount of Contract With Lyrics videos there were already. It was hard to not unintentionally steal from someone else, but ultimately I'm satisfied with this And also, yeah, Oddbrother can SING. That guy is magical, I swear, and none of this would have come together without his voice

Also as an aside - This video is marked as "Lyrical Rift Alter" if you noticed I covered this in a community post, but some of the older AHIT Lyrical Rift (then-called AHIT Boss Package) songs have been shifted to a secondary playlist. This is bc I kinda wanted to keep them around, but I also wanted there to be a distinction between the final-final tracks and the older tracks that were replaced Think of it as sort of a "Beta" for Lyrical Rift before the finalised castings and such
