HELLO?! WTH 😭 This is really good this is definitely my second favorite (totally not bais about the snatcher one) I love how erie the background sound is 🤭 and the voices are really good 😭 and the whisper and the louder voice coming together like omg 😭😭😭😭
Thank you! None of this would have been possible without Dark's existing lyricisation of A Forsaken Place Reprise from Tale of Subcon Forest (on Raven's channel), that I sort of borrowed some elements from and twisted into a darker, more evil version of A Forsaken Place
I really love how this one in particular turned out bc, as said before, I was dissatisfied with how Snuff Out The Light turned out, so this is sort of my Anti-SOTL to give Vanessa the justice she deserved

I did however eventually find a way to make her in-game design work, as seen with the thumbnail artwork
So I know the whole point of Vanessa is that you can't see what she looks like; but out of curiosity, what made you decide to give her the appearance of a skeleton? Are you referencing something or implying that her dark form is also decaying her body?
The latter
So, the thing about drawing Vanessa is that I thought it would be both way too simplistic and also not scary enough if I just used how she looked normally. As such, I spent a while coming up with a design that was unnerving enough to get the intended effect of "Absolutely horrific" but not too horrific and complicated so as to make it not fit the overall vibe of the rest of the artwork
The idea is that Vanessa, having gone insane, is actually some kind of cross between a Wraith and a Siren, able to make herself seem like a human woman and then turn into a zombie at the snap of a finger. I also edited the clips together to make her house seem like a non-euclidian and ever-changing space with no set layout to add to the subtle horror of it, the idea that there's no exit.
In the full video, it's also going to be left ambiguous how Hat Kid managed to escape Vanessa at this point.
@@AlexPastGrey You know, the more I think about it, I really think Vanessa should have been the Big Bad of the whole game instead of Mustache Girl. She has a terrifying presence, a connection to Snatcher, and phenomenal cosmic power. She even has a tentative reason to want Hat Kid's timepieces. "With the power of time at my command, I can stop my prince from leaving me ever again!" Just have her show up and take Snatcher captive after you beat him.

Disagree entirely
Vanessa has no dynamic with Hat Kid, which would make the already really weak hero-villain connection that AHIT has even worse because now Hat Kid's *only* reason to fight Vanessa is either "I have to save ghost man" or "She took my time pieces" which are good for chapter bosses but definitely not full villains
Additionally, while Vanessa has a tentative reason to want the pieces, this reason is never explored enough in-game to adequately say that that's why she keeps one in the first place
