I like how the A158 is a bit thinner than the 168, makes a big difference on the wrist imo

I've got one a few weeks ago. I like how it's more compact and less boxy than the popular A168, and a little more discreet too. The larger bracelet links have a quasi-polished effect that matches with the plated case. The backlight is what it is but the background is clear and reflective, and i can see the minutes well enough with the little led. It's now my favourite grab-and-go, go-anywhere watch, and i wish Casio made a 1:1 in full steel.

Interesting that these are priced similar to the gw5600. I love the larger buttons on top and even larger buttons at the bottom. Even the recessed adjust button can be changed with a finger. I think the font is the same size as the 5600 but the 290 has more space in between characters. If you want really big numbers then the 291 is a better choice at $32, $10 less than the 290.

I've got this 168,158,and the super thin 700. The 700 is the best of all of them! I've also replaced the watch bands on all of them to an adjustable, expladable band that makes them a snap to put on and take off.

I removed the blue writing and replaced the strap. Amazing watch like this.

AE1200 is $20 and is a stunner. For $20 you get so much utility.

Fantastic review. I just bought one and I love it. Easy to set time and use features. Use stopwatch a lot. Lighting is good. Loose a little readability if the angle is not right but am used to it. Will get a nylon canvas band as I am often in hot climates. 200 meters so I can wash dishes with complete confidence.

yes. they are worth it. I like the "george" line at walmart. I have jeans, wallets and belts from them. I also have two watches. one with a brown strap, one with a black. They are great and hold up well!

I got this today and is cool, wish it had a timer like the 3294 modules. I might start collecting squares since diving in the automatic watches was boring.

So I have the shock command negative display version of this and for the price Timex failed using Acrylic instead of mineral glass. Love the watch but not the scratches even wiping it gently causes scratches. I would not have this on if spraying chemicals and yes off spray will eat the acrylic.

Totally agree this is casios one watch collection has everything you need like the F91-W with added better EL light.... Mind you i have lots a vintage casios lol fav being the A700 for me ...But what an iconic piece this is... Great review of a ONE WATCH COLLECTION !!!

Awww man....with a SOLAR, I think you'd have a winner. I'm just not an automatic fan @ all. SOLAR's, to me, just tend to be more accurate and more dependable.

The NATO strap only adds to make the watch sit higher on your wrist. I prefer the original bracelet. Nice review. I just received mine in black. I ordered the 8926 but they sent me the 8926OB like the one in the video. I liked it, I kept it. I am testing the accuracy, and Geez it was like 4 minutes slow in 14 hours !!! No worries coz I am in the process of regulating it myself with some trial and error and a lot of patience. But I never expected it to be so inaccurate out of the box. Maybe it needs some running-in period? I will get it to run accurate for sure. Just received my Vostok amphibia scuba dude as well. That one is running 6 seconds/day fast out of the box. Superb! 👍🏼👍🏼

I have about a dozen watches, including a couple that are pretty pricey, and still my $21 A168 gets a surprising amount of wrist time. It's a great watch. Retro fun notwithstanding, it's just a straight-up good looking one too. AND it's a Hollywood watch! James Bond has the Omega, but Wonder Woman has the A168 (Steve Trevor gives her one in WW84). Good enough for Wonder Woman? Good enough for me.

I got this as a kid in the 90s. I remember looking at it in the shop for ages before I saved enough to buy it. I had no idea it was in mission impossible. No idea whatever happened to it. May have to get another.

Picked this one up 7 months back at my local watch shop and love it. It came with the textured leather strap (on the watch) and also the extra nato strap which I'm not a fan of nato straps. It does wear on the bigger side but still looks and feels great. Nice review! Also, subscribed.
