Ohh yeah, it's such a good deck.

Got a Chainer Nightmare Adept deck that's like that. I'm either blowing out the table with Chandra's Ignition on a 40 power Psychosis Crawler on turn 3, or I'm sitting at 2 mana til turn 8, not much in-between.

That's what I love about my toggo and kodama deck. It can be explosive and win on the spot but it can still be very grindy. Just make so many rocks that I can kill any creature on board. I remember playing against Joe's old korvold deck and I was holding my own because I kept killing his commander with rocks.

This was also the game when Joe said his home address out loud, so it solved 2 problems. LOL

Shalai and Hallar plays way better than upon first reading it. It can deal a ton of damage out of nowhere. What do you think the best card in your deck is? Or at least your favorite one to see in a game?

That's a good suggestion. I just wasn't sure where to put it. I also thought that since I used underworld breach in my example I should have also included library, graveyard and exile. But I was giving the vertical video format a try and I wasn't sure where to put everything. Especially since I made youtube shorts out of this video. And youtube shorts has so much text all over the screen. I probably should have made 2 versions. Sorry, you probably don't care that much. I appreciate the feedback. Thank you!

Yes and no, obviously, variance is always a challenge in a singleton format, but if you look at the deck list there are lots of ways to get to 5 Mana on turn one in this deck. Redundancies if you will. Of course it won't happen every time but if you can get to 5 Mana and cast tibalt and Jeska's Will getting all your Mana back and essentially drawing 3 more cards your odds of drawing into more things to keep the chain going are pretty good. And even if you don't, you just got 7 Mana from your Jeska's will. Even with commander tax, you can still cast it 2 more times. So now you draw 9 cards and still have 7 Mana to use. The odds of wiffing 9 cards deep is pretty low. But again variance can still get you. This deck is a glass cannon. You either get there or you don't. It's so hard not to get there by turn 3. This deck is far from unbeatable. Just one free counter spell and your done but thats true for most strategies so it's what ever. Check out the decklist in the description. Moxfield has a playtesting feature. Try for yourself. It's a lot of fun.

I'll definitely have to tell Kyle, that's a really good idea. Although it also feels kind of underhanded because it's essentially the same deck if you run such a hyper effective tutor. I think if you wanted to go a tutor and still don't want to get super hated on, you could use something like a scheming symmetry or the new Insatiable Avarice. If a tutor still feels like too much maybe even a solid draw spell like sign in blood or a deadly dispute or a read the bones so an instant win isn't guaranteed just a little more likely. Plus you always have the chance of naturally drawing your win con anyway.

@@highpoweredhobby if there is an infinite mana combo in the deck somewhere, you can have basically whatever you want as the signature spell

Oh yeah. Kyle used to have a nissa who shakes the world deck. You could easily build it to make infinite mana and then have finale of devastation as your signature spell

Yeah, the saheeli deck is really interesting. I think I'm actually going to make a youtube short about it. I was just looking at that -2 and thought how can I abuse that. Altar of the brood is just the easiest way.

Agreed. He was just in a tight spot. He either had to spin his wheels and stay alive but not advance his board state or advance his board and hope for the best. He chose the latter.

Hey froghermit. Thanks for commenting. I definitely see why you say that. Normally, I'd be okay with throwing Travis under the bus, LOL. But he had a simic growth chamber that tapped for 2 mana. So he paid the full 7. He was just trying to decide if then was the right time to cast.
