*PLEASE DON'T REPLY TO THIS POST!!! I heard that a female employee ofJewels Helping Hands ran a "homeless house" with her husband at one time, where they rented out rooms! Word is that she closed it to ALL homeless people due to her later discovery that one of their tenants was a sex-offender! Maybe she'll help get some people off the streets, and consider reopening it. Even if just as housing for women only this time! If it does reopen, they'll need to obey landlord/tenant laws this time around.🏡

Its not about the cost of them while they are homeless that matters its the billions of tax dollars yall steal squander for the problem to only get 2x worse and enabling that for as long as possible.

Great job! I was disappointed that Hello For Good's Chris Patterson didn't have a more specific "vision". I know they are behind you guys, but as their spokesperson, he needs to step up more. I loved the interview with the formerly homeless gentleman in Houston - and how important it is to have an ID!!! We need a Navigation Center!! Keep it up, Gavin and Ben!!

We need philanthropy to also take care of our youth and offer youth programs and jobs. So that they are off the street after school. So that they are not loitering or doing petty crimes for food and gas money. Instead they are on a track to school with scholarship or a training program for trades or tech.

Thank you for this. We don’t have this in the Bay Area and we have an overwhelming amount of homeless. Many refuse to go to shelters because they don’t want to be shuffled daily and moved out to then apply again daily to a few shelters. We have new buildings but it’s not enough or fast enough. Glide health services has been successful in the tenderloin in San Francisco. But it’s not enough.

There is enough land and enough on this planet for everybody to have their own little space, but they are the powers that be they do not want that to occur. You have to look at the structure of the United States, the structure of the planet, and what we call government you have to look and see how they do things who’s getting rich, why are people having to go 20 and 30 miles outside of their community to work to have something? Why can’t you work in your community and make a decent wage and live you have to think about how they structured everything to work. My mothers aren’t home with the children there’s no fathers in the home you have to look at that plays a part in our community and how the government has structure does indent us so that they can keep a foothold or better yet their foot on our Nick has the people to keep us down and they stay up up

What really needs to happen is they need shipped out of here. Send em to California where they can get their drugs for free. They're ripping up our neighborhoods. Stealing our stuff. Making the city unsafe. A one way bus pass is significantly cheaper than taking care of them indefinitely. Hell, give each and every one of them a Corolla and let em pack their stuff as long as they never return. Problem solved.

Thank You Gavin Cooley for this sensitive knowledgeable project, looking at the complex intertwined causes and effects of homelessness. I believe the impact of Camp Hope , it’s effect on moving forward with meaningful progress is it’s neon visibility, the impossibility of hiding Camp Hope. No longer can we ‘ sweep’ homelessness under the carpet. No longer can we simply blame and shame those suffering ….we are forced to look at systems, history, power holders, and our own biases..

Gavin, I attended your meeting at the Central Library last night and have read most of your posts here. Geri and I love Spokane and really appreciate what you are doing to improve the plight of our city’s homeless. I believe you have the solution as it has already worked in Houston, and Atlanta. The beauty is it will save money for the city and county while at the same time provide a roof over the heads of the houseless. Geri and I, as Christians, acknowledge our duty to care for the needy. Matthew 25:31-46. We have volunteered at Family Promise and would love to support you in this endeavor in any way we can. Blessings in putting your collaborative solution together. Gerry

Good job, Gavin Cooley and Ed Byrnes!!!!! I was particularly pleased to see your reference to the beginning of this latest wave of homelessness, 50 or so years ago, including the end of government support via low interest loans to developers to include affordable housing in their projects - and of course the obvious, government allowing corporations to go overseas for cheap labor without any kind of tax penalty. Off to watch the next one here - thanks again!! And Please, tell the producers of these great videos to toss the loud obnoxious music!!!!
