Well done! I’m as optimistic as I have ever been that Spokane can accomplish most of what Houston has done.
Thank you for this. We don’t have this in the Bay Area and we have an overwhelming amount of homeless. Many refuse to go to shelters because they don’t want to be shuffled daily and moved out to then apply again daily to a few shelters. We have new buildings but it’s not enough or fast enough. Glide health services has been successful in the tenderloin in San Francisco. But it’s not enough.
Such a great series. Thank you for it. I am excited to see the next episode that wiil hopefully interview the key players here in Spokane and report the progress Spokane will have made in the coming months.
I appreciate the point that we cannot afford to not address this issue. It's a political and community issue we must address together.
Great job! I was disappointed that Hello For Good's Chris Patterson didn't have a more specific "vision". I know they are behind you guys, but as their spokesperson, he needs to step up more. I loved the interview with the formerly homeless gentleman in Houston - and how important it is to have an ID!!! We need a Navigation Center!! Keep it up, Gavin and Ben!!
We need philanthropy to also take care of our youth and offer youth programs and jobs. So that they are off the street after school. So that they are not loitering or doing petty crimes for food and gas money. Instead they are on a track to school with scholarship or a training program for trades or tech.
