How about the maintenance this car in Japan ? and how about the spare parts ? is that easy to looking for ?
Hi, thank you for asking good question. My friend of the author mechanic gets spare parts from a parts vendor in Japan. However, their inventory is dwindling, and when it runs out, it will be difficult or impossible to obtain.
Man i miss cars from that time period, easy to drive from a to b, no big screens and stupid tech to take your mind of the road. Cars today are more safe yes but people driving skills, is so bad its not even funny. Thx for keeping this old Grandpa alive. 👍
Hi, thank you for leaving your message! I understand what you are saying. Indeed, that is one of the reason why I don’t switch to a new car. Will take good care of my 306!
おめでとうthe breaking-in period is now completed you can rev the engine to his limit lol, this car will last until 300 000 km and more if you continue to treat her with attention
Thank you for your comment! My French friend once told me that Peugeot is sturdy cars. Your message explains it.
@ yeah it’s true until early 2000’s, after that all french cars are not reliable anymore and will cost a lot of money and energy (i owned a 308 from 2008 with the 1.6 THP engine who had various issues) We didn’t manage well the modern and electronic transition for our cars in france Don’t even ever consider the 1.2 puretech engine from peugeot-citroen (PSA / Stellantis) this engine is a mess and several people are stuck with a dead engine
Hi, thank you for your interesting insights. Then I will continue to drive my 306 with great care for many years to come. I hope Peugeot will return to the Peugeot it was before 2000’s!
Congratulations!!! My xrd '96 has 294.000 km 😁
Wow, that’s impressive! I hope you’ll have many more happy driving years in your Peugeot.
congratulations on the 100,000km mark :)
Thank you for your message! I hope my Peugeot continues to be in good condition.
OMG 29 years, you've really loooked after it :D She looks real good :)
Thank you for your compliment! I’ve never been to be motivated to switch to another car.
Your 306 is your every day car?
Hi, thank you for asking! Actually this is the only car I have owned for 29 years. I rarely drive on weekdays as I commute to the office for work by trains. I drive only weekend, so still only 100,000km for 29 years!
thanks for good video, I'm peugeot 306 owner too
Hi, thank you for your message! Glad to hear you keep driving your Peugeot 306 and hope its condition is good. Am happy to be a port of this worldwide 306 community!
Nice 306 you got there, it's in pristine condition, don't hesitate to send me a message if you need help to seek parts online for your peugeot pro tip : octane gasoline in france are : 98 and 95, i don't think the ecu differ for the japan version (maybe it's just a uk version they send over there) じゃね クレマン
Hi, thank you for your comment! It’s glad to know you may help me to find parts in France. In fact, spare parts inventories are dwindling and becoming harder to obtain. I will share the pro tips to my auto mechanic.
the clock bulb change is easy. 1. pull off the clock cover by hand. 2. undo two screws either side that hold the clock in. 3. remove clock and undo both electrical connectors at its rear. 4. use needle nose pliers to twist the bulb+holder 90 degrees then pull out. 5. swap out bulb from holder with a new one 6. put everythign back together. 7. job done :)
Hi, thank you very much for the detailed guide! I’ll share it with my auto mechanic. I’m amateur on working on cars, haha.

Always love Peugeot and roadtrip in Japan ❤
Hi, thank you for your comment! Driving Peugeot makes me feel good. Will keep driving my country Japan.
if you ever feel like having a gti6 holiday in the UK, im up for taking you around in my car : )
Hi, thank you for the invite! I used to visit the UK. I’ll do so next time I visit your country.
The 2nd light bulb behind your temperature indicator/clock is dead. it was the same on my car, i replaced it and it died again after a week. must be a weird 306 issue :D
Thank you for sharing your experience. My headache is the noisy windshield wiper. I replace the rubber, but still there’s a noise.
@@peugeot306xsiiledejapon9Have you tried to clay the windshield or use invisible wiper(Soft 99 glaco for example). I had similar issues with various cars and it helped most of the times. Last resort would be checking if windshield wiper spring is still pushing the wiper to the glass. It is also common issue with older cars.
Hi, yes I have tried to clay time to time, but it gets only temporarily better. I have thought the wiper spring pressure could be a cause. Will see a mechanic. Also have thought Soft 99 glaco is the last resort. Thank you for your advice!
Hi. I'm from Argentina. I have a xrd '96. Last sunday I drove a little trip of 425 km.. consumption: 5.7 liters of diesel per 100 km. I love my 306.
Hi! glad to know here is another friend who still driving Peugeot 306. Thank you for your comment and sharing your driving experience. That’s great mileage!
Mine should be 10 liter of premium per 100km.
thats some miles buddy :) you have the best car for it though.
A comfortable climate for driving Peugeot has come. Thank you for your message!
Thanks for good video.
Glad you enjoyed! Thank you for watching.
car sounds and looks tidy :) keep it up :D
Thank you! Car conditions have improved after replacing alternator.
good video, thanks.
Thank you for the “good”!
very shiny :) the parts for these are gettign scarce now, glad shes running right now :)
Thank you for your message! Indeed, it’s hard to get parts. Hope vendors keep supplying.
love your videos, keep up the good work :)
Thank you for your comment! Will continue to post. Less driving in summer due to climate change, very humid for Peugeot, but will be back.
couple of things. 1. your air intake pipe isnt connected properly, you can see this next to your battery 2. when you fill your coolant, you need to make a header tank from an upside down pop bottle with the bottom removed. you fill this to a high level, and you have to open three bleed valves to properly fill/bleed the system one valve is on the top of the radiator on the opposite side from the fill port. the second is a little brass screw on to top of the thermostat housing the third is on your heater matrix, near you brake fluid reservoir, its a little black plastic cap. open each one with the header tank installed/filled untill air stops coming out. job done 3. one of the two bulbs in your dash clock has gone (right side) 4. keep it up, love your videos
Thank you for your comments!Indeed, you will see the air intake pipe being fixed in the coming second video.
Is your car automatic or manual?
Hi, thank you for your comment. Mine is automatic, I like manual though.
@@peugeot306xsiiledejapon9 mine is automatic as well, i rarely find other automatic 306 XSI’s My car came from Japan and was imported into the US, its identical to yours except mine is a 3 door, one of my most favorite cars i’ve ever had And this is coming from someone who’s owned BMW’s, Corvettes, V8 Mustangs, Camaros and Nissan Sentra SE R’s
Yeah, I remember you imported yours from Japan. Hope your Peugeot 306 is still fine too!
You seem to take good care of your car! Here in germany those old Peugeots are rare. Happy driving! Cheers
Same here in Japan. Will keep driving as long as Peugeot provides parts!

you should treat your xsi to an engine bay detail, show us a before and after :)
Than you for your comment. Will do.
love this channel! i also own a Miami Blue 306 XSi here in America that was imported from Japan, seeing your videos makes me get a taste of what her life was like in her native country!
Hi, thank you for your comment and I’m glad to know you enjoy my clips. Will keep posting. Hope your 306 xsi is also still in good condition.
check your top engine mount. if there is a gap between the rubber pyramids and the walls you can pack it with a thin peice of wood. this will stop your engine jumping backwards and forwards
i own an xsi, any chance i can come for a roadtrip in japan with you?
