Thats cold blooded.. it is possible they spooked the fish, but if you cast parallel to the rocks you should get bit. The waves from boats crash against the rocks regularly, so the rocks the kids threw might not be much of a spook? 🤷🏾‍♂️

@@Crappie_Day maybe, this was my second time fishing here so I’m not too familiar with the fishes patterns in the lake. I hooked a few last week around the same time we went today. But we’ll try again another day, my boy seems to be interested in fishing but it was a bad day today for him with the slippery algae so he wasn’t in the best mood after his soaked stumble🤣

Oh man that slippery algae 🤦🏽‍♂️ poor guy lol But at least he is liking it and hasn’t given up 😃 Lake perris is tough, especially for kids!

@@Crappie_Day I’m hoping he gets more into it as he gets older, I will be definitely taking him to where I’d always go with my grandfather then eventually teach him how to fly fish once I learn how myself. Gotta keep traditions alive, my grandpa would always tell me how he’d fish back in Indonesia before he came to the states way back when he’d take the family fishing so I gotta keep traditions alive

I only know it’s 5 feet because I saw some dude float tube fishing and he told my brother and I that the lake seemed to be 5 feet deep, the middle lake the biggest lake.

Really they allow tube fishing?! I know it’s super shallow! I only went because they have a variety of panfish with a possible catfish lure bite. My buddy kevin catches them with lures.

Hey Jesse 😃 So to explain the mini jig set up, the jigs are essentially “lead dipped hooks,” if you look up tube head jigs you’ll see what im talking about. Sizes vary from 1/100th to 1/8th, but in our IE shallow lakes, 1/64th to 1/32 is usually ideal for jigging. The laker and og “mini” on the videos are plastic skirts that slip onto the jig. I put up a couple videos on the dropshot setup that is pretty much foolproof for kids. Take them during cooler weather like 7am or 5:30pm, put them on the set up and they’ll be on a decent bite.

Oh yeah! Lots of trout. One stock was 2200 and then they had 2 more of 200-300 lbs.

Yeah some people are. Technically you can because they’re farm raised, so they have no negative effects. Personally i couldn’t.

Bass are pretty scattered close to structure all around the lake. Particularly along the root lines also. They love to cruise close by. Wacky rigs work phenomenal when they’re active. I think water temps are still too low, so the topwater action isn’t quite there yet. I

Sweet man 🤙 im glad it did! These words like many others are very encouraging 😃 Use these rigs, especially the vertical jigging to start off. Work an entire section of the lake along the root line, to figure out what a bite feels like, so you know when to set the hook. Once you get comfortable with it, then move on to rigging and casting a dropshot. Each rig is like a tier to reach with its perks.

Yes sir, well more specifically newport dunes 🔥🔥🔥 Gulp red sandworms. Hands down. I jigged them with and 1/8th oz jighead, dropshotted them, they’re good.
