I was "told" by some friends of mine (thanks guys... haha) to record this song and post it up on YouTubby for all to see and share. So that's what I've done. If you're a musician, please don't pick this to pieces, yes there are errors, but I don't care, as I'm not using auto-tune and don't feel I need to. I don't cheat like that. Anyway, enjoy this. • @PinguWaaWaa
      @PinguWaaWaa 8 років тому

      SInce 2013 (when this was recorded) I've learned a lot about riding a bike. I still use the gears, but blip my throttle before slowing down, or use the brakes only. It really depends on where you ride, and what terrain you're covering. But thanks for pointing that out - even though the video has nothing to do with gear changing.... lol.

    • @CptSlow89
      @CptSlow89 8 років тому

      Ofc he is using. Im using it too on my gpz500s for 8 years and no problem with clutch plates. You know somebody loves engine braking and theres is no reason to brake on slightest turn for example...

    I just installed this exhaust (black color can) on my 01 GSF600 and it took me 15 minutes to change out. The sound quality is incredible for an exhaust that costs $154 dollars. The other brands just aren't even worth looking at. You really have to hear this thing in person to understand, but it's got the kind of sound that is timeless. It's deep, it's mature, and it's respectable. Not your typical can of angry bees, this thing is a 1 2 3 knockout. If you own this bike, buy this exhaust. If you clicked thumbs down, you are a dumbass. Thanks for posting this video brother.

      To be honest, the installation was quite some time ago, and I honestly don't remember how much clearance there was. I'm pretty sure it was the same though. I can lean pretty well with this exhaust though, if that helps? Sorry about that.

      Yes, it did. But it depends on what you're looking for in it. It protected me from two bird strikes (they would have seriously hurt), and lots of insects. It also protected me from the wind beating against my chest a lot. The only drawback I found was that it stopped wind going into my helmet, so I got quite hot in the summer.

    How much of a difference in power does this exhaust make? Please comment back fast before I go buy it. I love the sound

    • @PinguWaaWaa
      @PinguWaaWaa 10 років тому

      Yeah, the sound is pretty awesome, I must admit. :-) It doesn't seem to make any noticeable difference in the power, only in how much throttle I give it to make it sound good... haha. No difference to power, fuel economy, performance etc. It's great. It literally is a straight swap with a little bit of fiddling to make it attach. Now.... that being said, every bike is different. Some bikes may still need a tune afterwards, but that's all to do with regular maintenance etc. My bike is very well maintained. I hope this helps you out. Enjoy your new exhaust sound dude. Go for it!

    Thanks for the video, I just bought one myself for my 01 bandit. Everything is going on fine but HOW IN THE WORLD did you get the strap on, ive bent it different ways and it just doesnt look right, and now my fingers are cut lol.

    • @PinguWaaWaa
      @PinguWaaWaa 10 років тому

      Yeah, it was pretty difficult. I had to bend the strap so that the ends were dead straight, then slightly bent one side in so that it met the bolt. It took me about 30mins (or more) to put that strap on. I had to use pliers to pull it up and on, and then the nut went on and did the rest. Good luck with that though. (If I was close to you, I'd come and help, but alas it is a fairly large swim from me to you... haha) All the best!

    • @PinguWaaWaa
      @PinguWaaWaa 10 років тому

      It was a straight swap. The mid-pipe and exhaust were included. I never had to touch any settings or mixtures, and even now waaaaay down the track, it's still running as sweet as a bird. I'm sorry to hear yours is having issues. Some bikes do need a "tweak" with a new exhaust system though.

      No, not at all. The baffles in it are not removable. It's loud, but not obnoxiously so. You can hear it coming, but you don't have to cover your ears as it passes. I took the bike to a local shop here that creates custom built exhaust systems for racing cars etc. Apparently they very carefully drilled out the baffles using an increasing size of drill bits, however, I'm not sure what size they started with or went to. It's not recommended to try it at home, as it can go terribly wrong very fast. These guys had done it for Harley Riders for a long time, and had no issues with this bike. I'm stoked it came out so well.

  • @PinguWaaWaa
    @PinguWaaWaa 11 років тому

    I'd have to agree with you there. I do miss the sound of this bike, for sure. The exhaust looks stock, BUT, the baffles had been professionally adapted. I think it sounded better than my 400cc cruiser that I upgraded to.... lol. I quite often got asked if it was a larger bike than it really was. Thanks for your comment. :-)

    Oh, one other thing you might want to know.... You will lose your centre stand. You can probably get a welder to put on a new plate, (as you'll see when you go to install it), but I wasn't worried personally. I'll be getting a bracket made for it in due time.

  • @PinguWaaWaa
    @PinguWaaWaa 11 років тому

    No, I didn't lose any power, in fact, it gained power. I think it comes partly from the exhaust pressure difference, yes.... but also from the difference in weight. The original exhaust is extremely heavy, where-as this one is only just over 2kg in weight (maybe 3?). I also had just had my bike fully serviced and tuned just before installation, so it was running nice before install. I think that if I'd tried before the tune-up, it wouldn't have done much.... but hey, it sounds brilliant!!!
