Suzuki GSF 600 S Bandit Stock vs Danmoto Exhaust

  • I purchased a Danmoto JISU silver exhaust for my bike, and this is the before and after video for this.
    You can purchase the exhaust for this bike (and others) from www.dan-moto.com.
    It's the lowest priced exhaust that I've seen, and it's a VERY good quality build.
    It only took 7 working days to arrive at my doorstep. Very impressed.
    Loud pipes save lives - that's a fact. (Although, not TOO loud or they become intrusive and obnoxious)
    Since I installed this exhaust system, I've had NOBODY pull into my lane because they didn't "see or hear" me. I've had issues with that before this upgrade was done.
    Enjoy the video. :-)

    I just installed this exhaust (black color can) on my 01 GSF600 and it took me 15 minutes to change out. The sound quality is incredible for an exhaust that costs $154 dollars. The other brands just aren't even worth looking at. You really have to hear this thing in person to understand, but it's got the kind of sound that is timeless. It's deep, it's mature, and it's respectable. Not your typical can of angry bees, this thing is a 1 2 3 knockout.
    If you own this bike, buy this exhaust.
    If you clicked thumbs down, you are a dumbass.
    Thanks for posting this video brother.

    Thanks man. It's even better when you hear it live and not on video. Danmoto has my business permanently from now on. :-)

    Hihi, i'm about to mount a Danmoto TitaniumGP on my GSF600N! Thx to you to have let me heard that nice sound! Cant wait to mount it tomorrow! :D

    Thanks Morten. Yeah, I got a bit tired of watching just "idle/rev only" vids. I really wanted to hear what it was like under load on a proper road. So I thought I'd do this. I knew there would be like-minded people out there. :-) Thanks for your comment. :-)

    This is perfect video. For me, looking for some exhaust for my Bandit 600 k2 - now I know what I want !! Great sequencing as well ! Thanks for sharing.

    No, I didn't lose any power, in fact, it gained power. I think it comes partly from the exhaust pressure difference, yes.... but also from the difference in weight. The original exhaust is extremely heavy, where-as this one is only just over 2kg in weight (maybe 3?). I also had just had my bike fully serviced and tuned just before installation, so it was running nice before install. I think that if I'd tried before the tune-up, it wouldn't have done much.... but hey, it sounds brilliant!!!

    You're very welcome. I think it would sound MINT on a 1200 though.... yeah. If you do decide to do that, link your own video to this one if you can. I'd be very interested in viewing it. Thanks for your comment!

    Thanks for the side by side comparison. I'm here in the States and have an '03 1200 and would like to upgrade from the stock exhaust. This one looks and sounds good w/o being overly expensive.

      Yes, these certainly do make a difference. Deeper note, awesome sound, but not obnoxiously loud. Thanks for your comment. :-)

    Haha... I just noticed I have one thumb down (as of 24-05-14). I wonder what that was for? Maybe the cows in the backgound weren't pretty enough? Maybe the road was not wide enough for their liking? Maybe they really DON'T like loud pipes or saved lives? Maybe I'm asking way to many questions? LOL

      LOL - Me Granny. Me not care!
      Mind you, I ride a 1996 Kawasaki Vulcan VN1500 Classic Cruiser now, so no longer a Granny. My Bandit went to a good home a couple of years ago...... and I KNOW he redlines it.... lol.

    Sounds realllly nice man, doing my test soon and thinking about getting one of these bikes. But I want a aftermarket can, like a Danmoto or a Fuel one. Hmmmm :c which to choose?

  • @PinguWaaWaa
    @PinguWaaWaa  11 років тому

    Oh, one other thing you might want to know.... You will lose your centre stand. You can probably get a welder to put on a new plate, (as you'll see when you go to install it), but I wasn't worried personally. I'll be getting a bracket made for it in due time.

    I noticed you used your gears to slow down, are disc pads not cheaper than clutch plates? Pretty cool sound you have got out of your Bandit nonetheless.

    • @PinguWaaWaa
      @PinguWaaWaa  8 років тому

      SInce 2013 (when this was recorded) I've learned a lot about riding a bike. I still use the gears, but blip my throttle before slowing down, or use the brakes only. It really depends on where you ride, and what terrain you're covering.
      But thanks for pointing that out - even though the video has nothing to do with gear changing.... lol.

    • @CptSlow89
      @CptSlow89 8 років тому +2

      Ofc he is using. Im using it too on my gpz500s for 8 years and no problem with clutch plates. You know somebody loves engine braking and theres is no reason to brake on slightest turn for example...

    How much of a difference in power does this exhaust make? Please comment back fast before I go buy it. I love the sound

    • @PinguWaaWaa
      @PinguWaaWaa  10 років тому

      Yeah, the sound is pretty awesome, I must admit. :-)
      It doesn't seem to make any noticeable difference in the power, only in how much throttle I give it to make it sound good... haha.
      No difference to power, fuel economy, performance etc. It's great. It literally is a straight swap with a little bit of fiddling to make it attach.
      Now.... that being said, every bike is different. Some bikes may still need a tune afterwards, but that's all to do with regular maintenance etc. My bike is very well maintained.
      I hope this helps you out. Enjoy your new exhaust sound dude. Go for it!

    Thanks for the video, I just bought one myself for my 01 bandit. Everything is going on fine but HOW IN THE WORLD did you get the strap on, ive bent it different ways and it just doesnt look right, and now my fingers are cut lol.

    • @PinguWaaWaa
      @PinguWaaWaa  10 років тому

      Yeah, it was pretty difficult. I had to bend the strap so that the ends were dead straight, then slightly bent one side in so that it met the bolt. It took me about 30mins (or more) to put that strap on. I had to use pliers to pull it up and on, and then the nut went on and did the rest. Good luck with that though. (If I was close to you, I'd come and help, but alas it is a fairly large swim from me to you... haha) All the best!

    Have you had any problems with law enforcement when riding without a noise baffle?

    • @PinguWaaWaa
      @PinguWaaWaa  11 років тому

      No, not at all. The baffles in it are not removable. It's loud, but not obnoxiously so. You can hear it coming, but you don't have to cover your ears as it passes. It passes our New Zealand "Warrant of Fitness" checks with flying colours. I also ride with a trainee police officer too, who says it sounds "mean". :-)

    Could you please tell me.........
    Does that new exhaust offer more ground clearance than the original one? It seams to be installed lower when looking at your video and I am looking for ground clearance on a gsx 1250.
    Thanks.

    • @PinguWaaWaa
      @PinguWaaWaa  10 років тому

      To be honest, the installation was quite some time ago, and I honestly don't remember how much clearance there was. I'm pretty sure it was the same though. I can lean pretty well with this exhaust though, if that helps? Sorry about that.

    • @PinguWaaWaa

      Sorry this comment is 4 years late - as UA-cam never told me it was being held for approval! (Actually, a large number of comments were held - weird)
      But to answer your question - yes, the baffle is in. It's not removable.

    Was this a straight swap or did you need to change any carb settings for the fuel mixture. I am having fuel issue problems since mine was changed i.e stutters a little when revving
    Thank you

    • @PinguWaaWaa
      @PinguWaaWaa  10 років тому

      It was a straight swap. The mid-pipe and exhaust were included. I never had to touch any settings or mixtures, and even now waaaaay down the track, it's still running as sweet as a bird. I'm sorry to hear yours is having issues. Some bikes do need a "tweak" with a new exhaust system though.
