Nail surgery for severe fungal nail infection
A male patient in his 40s came in with a severe fungal nail infection. His big toenails are extensively infected, and he has been dealing with this issue for many years, which has now become a source of significant concern.
Despite attempting various treatments, including laser therapy, he did not experience any improvement, even after investing a considerable amount of money.
Due to his preexisting chronic condition, oral tablets were not a viable treatment option as they could potentially compromise his underlying health. Despite attempting several other treatments, unfortunately, none of them yielded positive outcomes.
After a thorough assessment, the option of surgical toenail removal was discussed and eventually pursued.
This video covers extensive treatment logs over nearly 10 months for the patient.

Foot and footwear
Переглядів 5555 років тому
Foot is a highly plastic structure and the shape can be changed by constricting footwear. It is demonstrated in traditional Chinese foot binding practice. Less extreme cases include rock climbers wearing tight shoes and Ballerina’s feet. And these stylish and fashionable shoes will DEFINITELY deform your feet. If you need to wear heels for work or you want to and you wear them all the time, tak...

    I'm a 33 year old woman, and I walk, run, jump and swim with inward facing toes. I wear wide mens' sized shoes for comfort and room for my curve. There was never a "problem" with my feet until the doctors I had been taken to as a kid made it one. Inserts, leg braces, therapy and medications were forced upon me to correct the flaw my family and doctors saw. Real health issues I now live with today formed as a result. If you are having difficulty functioning with in-toes, seeing a pediatrist is recommended. But if you are comfortable and functional with your feet as they are it may be better to not create issues where there are none. In either case do your research and use your own best judgement in moving forward. You're the one who has to live with the results.

    We all wish it was that easy but it isn’t I have this problem with my feet I was told as a child when I’m older I may need an operation to straighten my feet unfortunately this is what we all have to do as consciously trying to walk straight 100% of the time is difficult

    What’s the likelihood that over-pronation may cause fascial tear / chronic exertional compartment syndrome in lower legs?

    • @getsmart3701
      @getsmart3701 Рік тому

      My own experience is that the flattening of my feet came while training and without proper instruction or counter measures the tear of fascia tissue (inner side of calf muscle) and compartment syndrome soon followed. Likely I would say (I'm not a doctor, just a patient).

      Depends if it is a structural issue or a muscle weakness issue (weak glutes and posteriar tibialis).

    This is the equivalent of putting a bandage on a broken bone. Stretch the adductors, strengthening the abductors and foot eversion muscle groups. Fix the problem by fixing the problem.
