I think on the highway the Genesis is probably more fun. In the straightaways it's going to bury you in your seat with almost 350 horsepower. The BR-Z is, I'm sure, great for windy back roads, but coming out of the corners, you're not going to eat up ground the way the Genesis will. The Genesis is also a bit more practical if you need back seats or storage space and creature comforts. With the exception of sheer handling (and some people don't love the Genesis shifter, while I think it feels very techy and fun) the BR-Z doesn't really get anything over on the Genesis.

So after weeks of trying I decided to go out at 8pm and was determined to get my shift knob off. Got in and was straight demotivated. But I started to pull up on it and twist left to right very slowly trying to feel for a notch or something, and when twisting to the right it just popped off. Was in pure shock. So it is not thors hammer guys. Idk if the pulling, shaking, or making the plastic crunch with pressure loosened it a bit but it was so damn easy to come off i was slightly mad but more happy. Again, pull up(not with full force just enough to make the knob move up from resting position) twist left to right slowly, should pop right off.

While I know this is an old vid, I do want to say thanks for providing it. I don't know shit about cars and would have most likely screwed this up attempting to take the shift knob off since my 2016 Genesis Coupe Ultimate started rattling a few days ago and I just figured out that it was the shift know. Now I need to figure out how to fix it.

Same boat here, my friend owned a 370z and I didn't want to feel like another copy cat. So I started looking elsewhere for ideas. Ended up going with the Gen, partly because Infinity didn't have a 370z equivilent. Found the 3.8 and enjoy the hell out of it.

This just happened to me... shift knob sitting next to me. I can’t install it bc it’s not threaded. ISR short throw en route.

I wish I saw this before going to the dealership about that annoying rattle. Spent way too much time and money fixing what was not causing the rattle. You know much more than they do! Thank you!!!

I was in the same predicament and when I saw and drove the 3.8l genny I had to get the Genesis it was more appealing to me than the brz, frs, or Toyota 86. And guess what I blow all of them away in all races I’ve gotten myself into

Whatever the crank HP is, most vehicles lose about 15%-18% by the time it gets to the wheels. That is just an approximation but it will be close enough for most vehicles. So, a vehicle with claimed 348HP at the crank should get around 290HP-295HP at the wheel. I am seriously considering getting one (real soon if I do), but my only concern with this vehicle is the MPG. I understand it is a 3.8L V6 and has a lot of power but an average mpg of 19 miles is really bad. What are the real life experience of those who own one? I'd like to hear feedback on this.

Hey, looking to do this to mine and am wondering what you did with all the tabs and how the mesh fits over them? At the end of the vid you can't really see them, did they just fit through the mesh so the mesh was sitting flush with the edges of the bumper?
