for me i went from like 60ish (before mod install) to like 40ish

I just had to tweak a couple things in my settings now with these mods I’m getting a extra 10-15 on top of what I had

In practice range it’s fine but when I play a game it feels like I’m playing on a toaster pls make a vid on how to fix it back to normal

@@thainguyen-r6j you can just delete the gameusersettings.ini file and the fps.pak file you installed. Or you can validate integrity of game files for the game in steam

ya I mentioned this, I think since the lowest in game settings are different from the settings we set up in this video, they auto apply the settings if you open up the display tab. So now we just gotta avoid clicking there

Ya this basically enables fullbright mode. Essentially removing all shadows. If you want, you can go into the settings file and change "sg.shadowquality" from 0 to 1

I know that if I even open up the display settings it reverts everything because they force you to apply their default settings when you open it. I usually have to avoid touching the display settings entirely now.

Nah just delete the 2 files or rename them and add the word like "backup" in the file name. This'll reset everything and next time you open up Rivals, it'll make a new file with the default settings.

that's a zip file. I guess Windows doesn't like 7zip files so you might need to download winrar or 7zip. A program that opens those file types

you might've changed the screen resolution. Check the gameusersettings.ini file and see what the screenresoltionx and y are. By default, they're 1920 and 1080. If that's not your screen, you're gonna have to change it

​@@Jaakeup I have an ssd, 3060, i7, normally have 8 gb of ram free. Is there any way to fully uninstall the mod? I have deleted the mod folder, deleted the game configuration settings, and I still can't get it back to normal. I might be cooked lol

@@Jaakeup Hey I turned off TAAU and changed it to NVIDIA DLSS and it made my frames increase significantly. That might be the problem. I am redownloading the mods and trying it again just with that setting changed.

might've been the framerate cap in the gameusersettings file. You can change it if you want. Just make to sure to uncheck "read only" in the properties before making changes then when you're done save it and check "read only"

@@hotbeacon Oh that's the wrong setting, change that back to false and scroll furhter down you should a setting called "FrameRateLimit= " I set mine to 130, yours might be set to 60

tbh not sure about the FPS.pak file but you can use the config files they're something that's necessary for pretty much every game these days. We're just changing the numbers to lower than the in game UI has available

what's the folder icon look like? If you don't have winrar or 7zip installed then it might just me a regular folder icon with a zipper on it. If it is, you should just be able to double click to open it

Make sure you're in the Local folder. By default when you search %appdata% you'll end up in the roaming folder. At the top of the window you should see "Roaming" to the left of that click "appdata" then go into the Local Folder

It's totally playable. It's even more than what competitive csgo / cod4 players used to play on in it's heyday. I guess it's a product of the times when the newer generation refuses to believe anything less than 1440p 100% resolution is "playable at all"

This is true. I've been following that guy for a minute and he makes great points. However, I do believe that the blame can lie on both parties. More so, on the developers of the engine but I've seen a couple decent UE5 games so it's not impossible but yes the default settings of anti aliasing in UE5 are terrible.

its not just anti aliasing. lumen and nanite are plagues of modern gaming. the shortcuts taken in nearly every aspect of developing a video game now are leading to rushed slop that doesnt run on nearly any of the overpriced graphics cards

You have to go into the settings file and manually make adjustments through notepad to make it look like this in order for it to play smoother. By default the game at it's lowest settings still runs poorly. If you watched the video you'd see that you can change the screen resolution to make it not look so pixelated if you want and still get an fps boost

it's barely a mod. It's just disabling unnecessary graphics settings that should have a "disable" button anyways.

This is technically breaking their ToS, so they could ban you if they wanted to, but I hardly believe that they will manually ban people for using mods, and so far I havent heard any cases where the anti cheat automatically kicks in because of these mods, but nobody know their official stance on this

A game like Marvel Rivals was launched with clear problems, and as paying customers or invested players, we have every right to call those problems out. The fact that the game hasn’t been out for long isn’t a free pass to dismiss critiques-if anything, early feedback is what pushes improvement. Secondly, calling the devs “lazy” isn’t about undermining the work it took to create the game, it’s about accountability. Making a game isn’t just about releasing it, it’s about ensuring it works as intended. Saying, “they made a whole video game” doesn’t absolve them from optimizing it properly or fixing core issues. Plenty of studios make games that work far better at launch, so the bar isn’t “they made a game,” but how well the game functions. Right now, Marvel Rivals struggles in that regard. As for your point about upgrading PC, let’s be real here. Optimization isn’t just about what hardware the player uses. If someone needs a $3,000 rig to run a game smoothly, that’s a developer problem, not a player problem. Plenty of games with more demanding visuals and mechanics can run well on mid-tier systems, so this defense doesn’t hold water. Even high-end players with 300 FPS might not notice subtle optimization issues, but that doesn’t invalidate everyone else’s experience. To say, “it will be worked on” doesn’t erase the fact that these problems exist now. Players are paying with their time and/or money, and they’re justified in expecting better at launch. It’s not unreasonable to expect a game to be optimized or at least playable out of the gate, rather than hoping for fixes down the line. Lastly, this video wasn’t about “promoting people to get banned.” It was about highlighting flaws and pushing for improvements. Rage sections or not, harsh criticism is what creates pressure for devs to listen and improve. If we just sit back and say, “it’s fine, they’ll fix it eventually,” there’s no incentive for change. If you’re having a flawless experience, great for you. But just because you don’t see the issues doesn’t mean others aren’t justified in pointing them out. Ignoring valid complaints only hurts the community in the long run. Constructive criticism is how games evolve, an people should continue holding the devs accountable so Marvel Rivals can reach the standard it deserves.
