Getting in here before anyone gets the wrong idea lol. The game is fun. I wish I didn't have to turn on so many assists to not spin out at every corner. It's got a lot of choice for tracks and cars. Can't wait for the career mode. Progression really DRIVES me to play games more (heh, get it?) Lemme know any cars / tracks you wanna see!

You need assists because you're overdriving the car at pretty much every corner. On a sim we don't have a proper physical feedback on how fast we are going becouse we don't feel our body being pulled by the g-forces so it's very easy to enter corners way faster than we would in real life and not realising it. Look at real life onboard videos of an Audi GT3 at Bathurst and see their braking thecnique, how they properly slow down before corners in order to turn the car smoothly (too much jerky inputs on your driving) and exit the corner with good balance and speed.
If you are interested in becoming fast in sims, my advice would be by getting on a solo practive with all assists off and start by going around the track very slowly, as if you were driving some grandma's SUV on a nice Sunday stroll, and then gradually start building up speed lap by lap, bit by bit, learning slowly what you can and can't do with the car... this might seem boring and counter-intuitive, but it's actually a technique recommended by driving coaches to act as a "reset" to unlearn bad habits and misconceptions on how a car should drive that we might have picked up from arcade games and hollywood movies. The process is slow but worth it in my opinion because driving a car in a sim with no assists and being actually fast but smooth is some of the most fun and rewarding video game related activities ever in my opinion. I used to drive karts but it became very expensive over time that's why I picked up sim racing.
Project Cars 2 is not as bad as some people say it is, it's an entertaining game, but it is a bit on the arcadey side so it will teach you a lot of bad habits that will not work on a sim like this one or others like AC, LMU, Raceroom, iRacing...).

@davidperes3720 Thanks for the in depth tips! Yeah I think I spent too much time in arcade-y games and the fast switch to sim killed me lol. I might come back to this but I actually just got ACC and I've been having fun with that one. Definitely incorporating unlearning bad habits with it too
