Great Stamp Adventure
New Zealand
Приєднався 7 лис 2022
Welcome! Stamp collecting, philately in general and sometimes postcards are what you will find on Great Stamp Adventure. I am a beginner stamp collector and I share my stamp collecting journey from where it began in about September 2022. I also share what I am learning along the way, some in the form of beginner tutorials.
I would love it if my videos could manage to prompt someone to start collecting stamps. My goal is also that especially beginner stamp collectors may learn something from my journey. Generally it is just a pleasure to share my new hobby and it will be wonderful if you could enjoy my great adventure with the stamps with me. What an exceptionally delightful hobby!
You can contact me directly with email: GreatStampAdventure@gmail.com
Thank you so, so much for visiting my channel and for your interest! I really appreciate it.❤️

Stamp Collecting Highlights of 2024: my Journey so far [Ep40]
Join me for a progress update on my stamp collecting journey. Reflecting on two years of collecting, I share my 2024 highlights: sorting large lots of New Zealand and worldwide stamps, receiving generous stamp gifts, attending Tauranga Stamp Club meetings, and creating my first exhibit for a local competition. Despite falling behind on unboxings, I remain excited for what's ahead. I also talk about the amazing UA-cam philatelic community and thank everyone who supported my videos last year. Here's to another year of stamps and learning!

It was pleasure to watch your journey. For me 2024 was time when I back to this amazing hobby. Now I make order in old albums and sort stamps by themes. And off course I still buying something new. :D
It was amazing gift full of really beautiful stamps. Thank you for sharing with us. <3
Wow! What an amazing start to collecting stamps these last two years and congrats on your new home! Wishing you a productive 2025 stamp collecting year in 2025 Charnie! I collect worldwide stamps and enjoyed the gift of a couple of box lots in 2024 so am having fun catching up to a backlog of sorting, soaking and organizing stamps in my albums and stock books! I was also given a couple of catalogs so have been enjoying learning about varieties for my favorite countries.
Happy New Year🎉 sounds like you had an amazing year. Wishing you a better one
Hi! Thank you so much for watching and for your positive comment and great wishes, pinkgirl!
PS - thank-you for the mention Charnie !!! Also you can get hold of glassine envelopes via e-bay if you want to use that avenue:)
I probably will buy some glassine envelopes from e-bay. Sometimes it can be a bit costly due to postage costs. I also saw another video where the person kept his duplicates in a stock book. I know that was what stock books were meant for in the past. I liked that way, because then the duplicates are really visible and ready for trade, give aways etc. But, then one needs to have additional stock books. Thanks for another comment and the tip!!!!🙂
@ stock books are my main albums - :)
@ At the moment, mine as well.
It was a greate episode. I reaaly love the polinesian stamps, they looking like piece of art ( I know - all stamps are :) ). I start to looking for them for sure, because are really beautiful. It's this kind of stamps like old Czechoslovakia stamps, which I like too.
Hello Dawid! The Polynesian stamps mostly look like bits of a tropical island in colour and design. And then they also have some of the French flair. Really beautiful!
Dear Charnie!! That was a great and fun video to watch!!! 2024 was really busy year for you! I am glad you found your new home in the new city of Tokoroa! I am looking forward to learn something more about this place in you next videos!! Looking forword for all you videos coming in 2025!! Best regards!!!
Hi Roman and Nikolaj! Thank you again for coming to my channel and watching a video which is not strictly about stamps. Thank you also for your very kind comment. I will see if I can show more of Tokoroa. There is not much to see. It is a small to medium town. I hope my videos in 2025 will be worth watching and the time watching them. You know how much I enjoy your videos and looking forward to them, especially when they are about your stamps!!!! Very best regards to you as well my friends!!!!!!
@@GreatStampAdventure Thank you! So kind of you Dear Charnie!!
Incredible Charnie, you did a lot with your stamps hobby this year. Also an exhibition, that's nice and brave of you. For me this year is focusing more on my main countries and distribute the stamps who are just eating dust in my closet. And maybe I will start a theme: stamps of windmills
Hallo Camiel! I did quite a lot of stamp collecting in 2024, but somehow it also feels too little. Yes, I think I was brave to submit an exhibit. I did not do very well with it, but I will say more about that in a video. Your new year with your stamps sounds exciting. I love the idea of collecting windmill stamps! That will be lovely. I wonder how many stamps there will be with windmills! Also, to focus is not so easy. There are so many beautiful stamps of so many countries!🙂 Thanks for watching again, and thank you for your nice comment. I enjoyed hearing about your new year plans!!! I am looking forward to your new videos!
Great stamps aventure my love stamps very muck. Thank you.😮🎉❤
Hi Suthat, I also love stamps! It is a very special hobby! Thank you so much for watching and your comment!!!! Best wishes to you!🙂
Nice video! And congrats on your new home! I am going to post new video on my youtube channel tmrw - this time about rare banknotes 😉 It will be in English and the same video in Czech - as almost always 😆
Hi Radek!!!! Thank you again for watching and for your positive comment! We are almost settled in our new home. It is the first home we are able to buy in New Zealand. Property is very expensive here, and we had to down scale quite a lot from what we had in South Africa. I will watch your upcoming videos.🙂
@@GreatStampAdventure well, you can probably imagine how expensive are properties hier in Austria 🙂 I am glad you are enjoying it in New Zealand - its a beautiful country! I was there a few years ago, travelling around both islands for about 3 weeks. It was great! BTW, I was also travelling around South Africa a few years ago. However, just for 2 weeks...
@ It sounds as if you traveled to many places. I love the nature of both New Zealand and South Africa, but the biodiversity of South Africa is just amazing, and my heart is there. It is interesting that properties are so expensive in some countries. In comparison, also in terms of the percentage of one's salary, property in South Africa is relatively "cheap".
Wow! You really accomplished a lot! Very inspiring. Your videos always make me smile:) Thank you!
Hi Martha! Welcome back. You are becoming a friend! I am so glad I can be a bit of a inspiration and make you smile, even a little bit! Your comment makes me very thankful and happy!!! Thank you for watching and for the positive comment!
🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Thank you! 🎉
Hey! Great to see you again, Charnia. I hope you will be happy in your new home, and your stamp room is ideal. Let me know if there's anything you need from the UK, I'll be happy to help. Best wishes. 🤩
Hi Rick!!!! I am always happy to see you here, and thank you so much for watching and commenting again!!! I hope I will be very productive in my stamp room! I cannot thank you enough for every stamp I already got from you!!!!!! It is amazing that you are willing to help if I want to get or buy something from the UK! I appreciate it so much! I hope you are healthy and that the sciatica pain is cleared up! Best wishes to you!🙂
Hello Charnie. It's great to see you in your new home, and I wish you many happy times there. It was good to see a recap of your collection over 2024. Great video and take care.
Hi Jerry! Thank you for your positive comment, AND for watching! I am so grateful that I can have a decent space for my stamp collecting activities! I hope you are doing well, and that things at home are improving!!!!
Congratulations on your new home, and Stamp Cave! You are always so happy with the world. You do me good. Thank you 🤗
Hi Graham! Thank you! We are almost settled in. I hope I will be very productive in my Stamp Cave. 🙂I am so glad my happiness might even transfer a morsel. It is my personality. I am even happy and love life when I am not so happy! I don't know why. Thank you tremendously for watching and your kind comment!!!!!! That does me good! 🙂
Wow, what progress you’ve made. I enjoy seeing your workspace and approach. Thank you for making your videos!
Hi Ken! Thanks so much for watching and commenting. I especially appreciate your time! You have a pretty full life! I did quite some sorting, but as we discussed quite a long time ago, this year I want to concentrate on identifying stamps and their varieties and organize them together in a collection. Otherwise they are sorted, but still accumulations of stamps. I hope you are doing splendidly!
Hi Charnie. I'm glad to see new video from you. Happy new year! I wish you all the best and lots of beautiful stamps for your collection.Kind regards to you
Hi Sergey! It is so wonderful to see you again here at my channel. Thank you for watching again and for the good wishes! I plan to publish more videos and more regularly in the year to come. I hope I will be able to stay with my plans. Very best wishes to you!!!
Congratulations on your new home 🏡 👏
Thank you, Mattys! I think we will enjoy our life here. Thanks for watching and commenting! Take care!
Hey Charnie, fab to see you back again, great update, nice new office to sort your stamps out! Looks lovely where you are, enjoy the weekend ahead, take care
Hi John (do you mind me using your real name here?). I hope many productivity will happen in my new office! It is a very nice town. I will miss Tauranga, but I try to see the special beauty of Tokoroa as well. Best wishes!!!!!!
@GreatStampAdventure No problem I'm fine with that! 👍
@ 👍
I love sending card by postcrossing and postcard united. This exciting when you don't know from which country you receive card. I love it each card in my post box, but I'm really happy when I receive maximum card. :)
Hi Dawid! Getting postcards from all over the world really is very special! Postcard united? It is the first time I hear about that. I will check it out. Maximum cards are beautiful! Wow, thank you again from my heart for watching another of my videos and commenting again!
@@GreatStampAdventure On postcard united have less users then postcrossing and sometimes I think administration forgot about this, but I have more possibility to receive card from Asia and Australia and sometimes send card on this site. :)
Hello and Bonjour to you, my dear friend Charnie! What a great pleasure SEEING you, your new beautiful town and place, as well as your philatelic achievements throughout 2024. I wish that this new year brings you even more joy in stamp collecting as well as great philatelic finds!! As always, sending my very best wishes from Provence! 😊
Bonjour Laurent, my friend! I also show my face in my some of my earlier videos, but it is scary!!! I really don't like to see myself on video, especially some aspects. Thank you very, very much for the beautiful good wishes!!!! I also wish you just the best again, and may you find covers and FDCs that will take your breath away!!!!
@GreatStampAdventure Awwww.... I just ❤ that, my dear and beautiful friend!!
Happy New Year to you as well Charnie. Congratulations on the move. I hope Tokoroa is providing a nice relaxed way of life for you. Thanks for sharing the update on your stamp journey. Always fantastic to catch up on what you are up to. All the best for 2025 !!
Hi John! You will be the only one of my viewers that will know where Tokoroa is. 🙂It was the only place in the area where my husband works, that we could afford to buy a house. But, I like living here so far. It is indeed very peaceful where our house is. I hope you are doing very well!!!! I also send you just the very best wishes again!
Howdy Charnie! Glad to see that you are getting settled in your new home. Looks like you have been busy sorting through lots and lots of stamps. Thanks for another great video!
Hi Smokey, my special friend!!!! I thought afterwards I should also have added your name to mail that I still need to open! I am sorry! Yes, it felt as if I sorted stamps forever, and I hardly touched all the unsorted and unprocessed stamps I have! But I try to concentrate on what I already did. 🙂 We are pretty settled in our new home. Still need to do a lot of reparations to the home, though. It is dilapidated! As always thank you so much for watching and commenting! I am looking forward to your videos for 2025. They are becoming better and better and more interesting by the video. Not that your earlier videos were bad!!! Best wishes to you!
Hello Charnie. It's great to see another video from you. I hope you're nicely settled into your new home now, and I love your new office! I have a lot of stamps to sort and you make me feel so disorganised as I have more in boxes than in stockbooks at the moment! This year I hope to be able to spend more time on my collection - unfortunately, last year was a bit of a washout! Looking forward to hearing more about your stamp adventures in future videos. :)
Hi Happybunny! So good to see your comment! Thank you. We are somewhat settled in. We still need to do a lot of work on the house we bought. But I enjoy to live here. The stamps I managed to sort is but a small portion of the stamps I have. Most of the stamps are still unsorted, and many are mixes in packets. So I am also in your shoes. 🙂 "Washout" years are pretty normal, I think. Life can be pretty busy. I loved to hear what you are doing and how you see the new year!!!! I am sure you are going to get a lot of stamp "work" done. Thank you so, so much for watching and commenting. I hope I will be able to put out some videos that will not just be a waste of time to watch! I am not sure that is always the case. Lots of very best wishes for the new year!!!!!
Wow! You've been busy. I watched the video when you showed your old stamp room and thought you had a lot, lot, lot of sorting ahead of you. All that and an exhibit too! Well done! 💖
Hi Mark! The stamps I managed to sort are still a small portion of what I have and showed in that previous update! 🙃However, I don't mind. When I see the unsorted stamps I just see all the future joy and potential.🙂 Thanks! I did manage to do as much as I could among the rest of my work. Thank you for watching and commenting again. It feels as if you are a special friend here. 🧡 I hope you are fine and healthy!
Good day Charni. Happy New Year and I wish you all the best, most importantly health and of course more interesting stamps for your collection. Thank you very much for the review and I look forward to your interesting videos. I wish you all the best.
Hello Alexander! Thank you tremendously for watching and commenting again!!! I always look out for your comment. 🙂 I wish you also a Happy and wonderful 2025!!! Yes, health is very important. Health really influences one's quality of living and how much one can do! Thank you again for coming to my channel! I am looking forward to your videos as well.
Hi. It's amazing to see your journey. I started my adventure with stamps about month ago - it's comeback to childhood hobby. :)
Hi, Dawid. Welcome to my channel!!!! Thank you for watching and commenting so positively! Welcome to the world of stamps again!!!! I think you know how much joy it can bring! I am looking forward to maybe learn about your stamp collecting journey and what you are doing. Do you already have certain countries and/or themes you are going to collect? Interesting I think: my husband has the same name as you, spelled this same. It is an Afrikaans (my home language) version of the name. Best wishes to you!
@@GreatStampAdventure I collect my own country Poland and started create a themes sets. I want to make Flora with cactuses separetly, because I have own collection this plants. I decided to make Fauna too. Another one is "National parks, reserves and botanic gardens" and "Philatelic exhibitions". I learn from different videos how create own album pages and want to try with that too. :)
@@DawidTrzepizor Thank you for your reply, Dawid. Your collecting focuses are very interesting! I also collect fauna as a theme. Yes, there are very good videos about making album pages. I am sure you will soon have some excellent pages.
Welcome back Charnie. Nice to see stamps in the file cabinet. Now you can do your series Charnie's Cabinets like Kyle does. Really nice status update! Looking forward to your videos in 2o25!
Hallo Chris! Thank you for watching and commenting again - I never take your time for granted. I know how much you have to do! Yes, I got the files in the cabinet idea from Kyle! I should have acknowledged him. I just forgot. I hope I will be able to post more videos from now on, but like you I don't want to commit to a rigid schedule. It is too much! You know I like and devour your videos as well! I love them. Very, very best wishes to you!
Good evening, Shanni. I hope you are having a wonderful New Year's holiday. It was great to visit your office and see how you organize and sort your postage stamps by country. You have a really impressive collection.
Привет Sergey! It is so familiar and nice to see a comment from you. Thank you! I hope I will be able to get a lot of work done in my new office. Thank you for your positive remark about my collection! There is still so much to do, but it is a joy, every minute!!! Very best wishes to you! I am looking forward to your videos in 2025!
A nice cozy office! When you showed the filing cabinet it put a smile on my face :). Always a pleasure to see your progress. It's amazing how much time one can spend sorting worldwide stamps. When you delve into such a huge amount of material from so many places it can become overwhelming trying to keep it all organized and I personally couldn't think of anything better than filing cabinets to keep it all in order. Keep smiling and keep up the good work! All the best to you Charnie! Happy New Year!
Hi Kyle! Yes, the filing cabinet with country files is an idea I entirely got from you!!!!! It works so well! I should have acknowledged you! I just didn't think of it in that moment. But, thank you! One of the best ideas for storing the stamps when they are not in the official collection yet. A lot of things must happen in my new office! I hope I will manage to stay productive. I am also "lazy" like you - I enjoy my down time. I must still go a long way with sorting stamps compared to you!!! I have a lot of awe for what you already accomplished. All the very best to you as well!!!!! I am looking forward very much to your relaxing videos spending time with stamps!
@@GreatStampAdventure 😄No recognition needed, I'm just glad it works for you! Thank you for your kind words! Did you bring your chickens with you to the new house?
Lovely update. It's good to see how much you managed to achieve in 2024. Considering how busy you are, you have done well. You say that there are still items from me you haven't looked at yet. That's fine. There's no hurry. In 2024, I bought relatively few stamps from overseas. Australia Post is issuing so many stamps these days it's hard to keep up with them, let alone with stamps from other countries. I hope 2025 is good to you, not only philatelically, but also health- and work-wise. Have a great year.
Hi Steve! Your comments are always so well written. Are you a writer? (Seriously) First of all, thank you with all my heart that you are always watching and commenting!!!! Yes, apart from mail thereafter, I still have one envelope of stamps that you sent (in 2023?!!!!) the first time. Your gifts were the bulk of the stamps I got in 2023 and 2024!!! It was the most wonderful thing that happened to me! I will never forget you and the stamps you gave me give me tremendous joy, each time that I see them. It is the largest part of my budding African country and fauna collections!!! Did you buy any new stamps of New Zealand? Thank you for the good wishes for 2025. I want to wish you the same! 🧡
Hi Charnie - great highlight video - Wow !! Massive amount of stamps !! I have a long long way to go!! I hope to enlarge my collection !! I am glad you are now in your new home and sorted !!!!!!! Jeff 😊
Hi Jeff!!!! You are really a special friend and I enjoy it so much to see a comment from you! Thank you! Time to watch videos takes a lot of one's precious time! More stamps are not necessarily better stamps! I still have a long way to go to become more focused, and I have a huge amount of duplicate stamps! I have so many because I bought those huge lots of stamps. We are starting to settle in in our new home. My office is more or less ready, now I must just utilize it productively! I am looking forward to your videos for 2025! Best wishes to you!
@ I am looking forward to your videos as well Charnie and best wishes to you as well !!!
HI CHARNIE, Happy New Year 2025 and a big and lustrous healthy one at that. I have moved around the world from England to Greece to New Zealand[Auckland] and then back to Greece...WOA. Hope you have settled down now.
Hello Roger! Welcome back here again. It is so good to see a comment from you there from Greece. 🙂 Wow, you really moved a lot and around the world! For me moving, even locally, is pretty traumatic. I lived my whole life (from birth) in three houses in two areas in South Africa, until we moved here to New Zealand! We are pretty settled in, but still need to do a lot of reparations to the house which is pretty dilapidated. Very best wishes to you!!!!
Hello Charlie - so nice to see a video from you 😊 happy new year to you. A great video tfs
Hello Julie-Ann, my special Zimbabwe Australian friend! Yes, I hope I will be able to post videos more regularly from now on. Thank you again for watching and commenting! I appreciate it so much! Best wishes to you!

Hello, Charnie! Thanks for this warm lamp video with results of 2024 year! You have had a very busy philatelic year! I loved your cozy home office!
Hi Vladimir! It is always good to see your comment. I appreciate it so much. I feel I didn't do enough during the year, but I am also very busy with other things, and I must not feel negative. It is not good to be too hard on oneself. I hope many great things will happen in my office. 🙂Very best wishes to you!!!!
Wishing you a happy 2025 as well. I hope you will discover some "treasures" amongst your gifts and unsorted stamps. I cant wait to see what you find.
Hi Dawid, I wish you a Happy 2025 as well!!!! For me the unsorted stamps and gifts are like a huge lucky packet waiting to be opened! Thanks for watching and commenting!

YES, Arun, you are first! 👍 Thank you so, so, so much for watching and commenting! One of the topics I collect is fauna, and I just LOVE animals, especially birds, on stamps! I also like flora stamps, though. Very best wishes to you!!!

@ I don't know, Suthat. I am not a writer and struggle to write short and clearly. English is also not my first language. So, I think, I have to say no, I cannot. Sorry! I hope I understood you correctly!🙂
Great tutorial!
Thanks so, so much for watching and for your positive compliment, Mr. Stampie. I appreciate it very much! I struggled to make these tutorial videos and still need to finish the series!

Советские марки с фауной - прекрасны!
Hi! Thank you so much for watching and commenting! I agree with you!!!!
Thank you so much for sharing. In India, we do not have such wonderful philatelic clubs and meetings anymore. We yearn to learn through such videos of yours and other philatelists. Please make and share more of your experiences with us. We wish you well for your endeavours.
Hi @AD-ho5vj! Thank you very, very much for watching and for your very uplifting and kind remark. It is very sad that you lost such philatelic happenings! I am glad if you could experience something of how it is from my video. I wish you a tremendously happy and prosperous 2025, filled with interesting stamps!!!

Dear Charnie!!! I enjoyed every minute of this video!! Finaly your new video! Missed it so much!!! I hope we will see your new video much sooner!! The fair is amaing in Tauranga!! I met a lot of interesting people there!!! I like the first New Zealand and of course this Netherlands album the most!! I need some of these Aruba fauna stams, for sure!!! See you soon!!!
Dear Roman and Nikolaj, really thank you so much for viewing and for your very kind and positive comment!!!!!! It means a tremendous lot to me! It took a long time for the new video!!! We moved and somehow I was not very motivated for a new video, and the editing of the video took me a long time. I am sorry for the long time without a video! I am so glad you enjoyed the fair. I also enjoy the kind of people in New Zealand. They are very warm and friendly, and the people at the stamp club are indeed very interesting and knowledgeable. I really liked the Netherlands album and the New Zealand album was a good buy. Somehow I did not buy anything that day!!!! Afterwards I regretted it a bit. As you know I enjoy especially your stamp videos so much as well! Take care, and very best wishes here from New Zealand!🙂
Good day Charnie. Thank you very much for the interesting video. I watched it with great pleasure. All the best to you
Hi Alexander, so good to see you here at my channel! I miss your videos. Thank you for watching and commenting. I am glad you liked the video. Take care!!!!
Hi Charnie. Nice video of the stamp fair. Loved the talk with Brian. What a nice and wise person, someone I could liste. To a whole day...and more. Like you, I am not able to judge an album's worth. Especially when it is more expensive I can hardly tell if there are stamps justifying that price. That New Zealand album looked pretty good. Thanks for the video!
Hi Chris! I like Brian very much as well. I really learn from him continuously at the stamp club. The New Zealand album was a good buy, but funnily enough I didn't buy anything that day! My mind was a bit all over the place. Thanks for watching and your nice comment!!!!
