How to comb bind PDF's

I have been converting my PDF's to paper so that I can use them easier. Wanted a video where they were using a system that I thought was too rigid to be functional. Link to video that I watched: ua-cam.com/video/rqxSmJwX0lE/v-deo.html&lc=Ugz3wDH3OWElT05WGe14AaABAg.AAEnt8Aq-pkAAG6huWrppp

Character Creation: Ignore Required Stats
Переглядів 108Місяць тому
I feel that the required stats concept makes PC's more predictable. If used as suggestions, you could create a PC that has a level of discomfort when adventuring. D&D and many other TTRPG's have two required stats for each profession/class. Ignoring the requirements and you can have a Barbarian halfling trying to intimidate the big world around him.
Choose your wording wisely.. Make your RPG standout.
Переглядів 34Місяць тому
Poorly written RPG can destroy some of the greatest storylines. Wording can determine if people understand your premise or rules to a game. Don't go out and use 5 dollars words every chance you get. If you can use the same words for a specific concept instead of 3-4 words people will understand you. If you want your RPG to be interesting, don't use the same words that everyone else is using to ...
Borrowing ideas from other Sources.

Yes you can borrow from other IP, just don't butcher the concept you are borrowing unless it is meant to be a parody of the character.
What WotC monetization could be like. Monetization killed Dragon City.

Dragon City is a game that has been turned into a fully monetized game. You could buy everything and max out the newest Dragon in less than a day. WotC can offer similar perks for the D&D VTT. Imagine some Noobie being able to buy special armor and weapons and destroying the balance you created in your game. Level 2 fighter with 5 holy Avenger sword and a suit of plate mail that makes him immun...

Let people do what they feel is better in their games. And do what you feel is better in yours. Every group, every person is different, and everyone has the right to play as they prefer
Correct, as I was saying the GM needs to screen those that could disrupt the game out for his table. Nobody should be pressured into letting everyone join the game. If you want a more murder hobo style game, then people that can't handle that level of brutality shouldn't play in that style of game.
As I understand it, ICE was deep in debt in late 90s and 3rd edition was an easy way to obtain cash. If you cannot sell to new players, you try to resell your game to your fans with a new edition.
If they could have made a couple more RMC's they would have made money. The tweaks made to create a new edition went the wrong way in my opinion.
Great video. Sounds like we're both on the same side of the culture war. 😆
That screaming.... Holy crap.
They've taken all this way too far in my mind. Safe spaces. Gaming tables have long been safe spaces for many of us; means of escaping the real world insanity (and if your life is sane, you don't know how luck you really are) . A couple of things comes to mind, and this is from experience. 1. Most people who sit down to play a game, even newbs, generally understand what the game is already, otherwise they'd likely not be sitting down. 2. Session zero (although my friends and I never called it any such thing), covers the dos, don'ts, and what's acceptable at the table. This is the point that any players who have 'an issue' are supposed to share it with the table so the TABLE can agree or disagree on how to handle said 'issue'. 3. The Social Contract (also something we never had a name for back in the day but we all pretty much understood what it means by today's standards). Usually part of session zero or that point of time where we're discussing playing a game with someone, that further opens the table for 'what's ok and what's not." Aside from, say, playing at a convention with total strangers, there's no need nor reason for such a contract...period. And I agree, if you a player and you need 'safe places and special gloves', these games ain't for you. Or, perhaps far more importantly, You ain't right for gaming. Period. Offended by the other players? Don't play. Scared in the real world about something? Embrace it with a morbid passion in-game (otherwise, it's make believe, the spiders' can't really eat you). Against violence? Once again, why are you at the table? Seeking drama for drama's sake? Kick rocks, none of the rest of us want to join you. There ya go, one consent form.
I watched a video by Professor DM , if I remember right, where he mentioned that he had a 10 page consent form. So that video and all the videos of lefties losing it after the elections is what inspired this video. I have no issue with an agreement between players about sensitive issues. " Billy is going through a divorce , can we tone down the romance angle." It seems to me that outsiders are wanting to throw so many rules and social requirements on anything dominated by 'whiter men'. I hear a lot in my social circles about 'toxic masculinity' and how the 'Devine feminine' is so much better. Now the hypocrisy is being shown as there are many women promoting violence against white men because Trump won. The left is offended by everything, and demands everyone to conform to their will. They even claim to be more peaceful, but yet are not showing it. So I am just venting and voicing out about the social policing that people have been placing on the hobby.
@@SageMasterRPG I think I watched the same video the other day. Then the fella on Table Top Family had a live video trying to understand the needs and uses for the stupid thing. As a student of history, I personally, believe that Trump's win is not a win at all. We shall all see how things will go. I also believe that the Democrats have been screwing over the working class, of which I am regulated too, and have been complaining about that for decades. Both parties are crap, in my opinion, and it's because we, the voters, allowed both parties to become tools of the uber wealthy. All this BS about woke this and woke that and people demanding safe spaces and young people not being about to read a full length novel, and others whining about petty crap? Well sir, there's very little going on today that makes sense and that's a big part of the problem. Perhaps I'm wrong; perhaps we'll all be living the dream with golden parachutes, but you'll pardon me (or not) when the pessimist inside me scoffs and both sides in this mess. Well, the American voters' voted and we're going to see first hand. All of us.
I don't call the table a 'safe space'. I call it neutral ground, a place where everyone interacts with mutual respect and a code of ethics.
@@SageMasterRPG I agree with that. For me, I've always seen the gaming table as a neutral place. I think we all need solid, neutral places to sit every now and then.
I purchased a manual binder machine pretty cheep. There's a trick to using it consistency, but it does do a good job in turning PDFs into printed books. Having a printer with the duplex option is also very useful. I am fortunate that I have access to a Xerox at the office, though I tend to print in BW to save color ink. One of the issues with these binding machines would be that the upper limit on size (2 inches I believe) limits those larger PDFs to two binders instead of one. I have a couple that turned out that way.
The binder punch machine you have is very similar to mine, yours has a long handle and mine is on the side. I think I paid around $60 for mine. Which reminds me, I need to order more plastic covers
I used to edit artwork out of my print outs to save ink. But with the smart tank printer and the money I save I print the whole book cover to cover. I hated having to buy colored ink cartridges They always ran out at the worst time. Which is also the advantage of the printer I have now, you can see the ink levels, no guess work.
I found Wal-Mart to have the cheapest report covers, I order online and have them delivered.
@SageMasterRPG same reason I stopped using my cheapo printer. Damn ink cartridges are expensive and lack stamina
I love it, you are getting very good with the animations. Well if you are wanting a starter questions .. Tell the difference between Orcs, Goblins, and Kobolds.
Looks like a great system. Definitely interested in it. I don't think it will be faster than D&D for levels 1-5, which is that systems sweet spot, but it will be faster than anything higher level and much more interesting than D&D period. Whittling down bags of HP is jut not interesting.
OK, I think the crits are over done with too many tables in RoleMaster... But the spell system- Wish we had a system like that in D&D. But again, lower the need of tables for different crit types.
I like the changes you made to the dragon. Your mascot is better than other channel mascots, because it isn't a boring still image used on other channels like pointy hat and deathbringer. Cooking gnomes.... are you going to do some spoof cooking videos?
Right now it is too much on the cute side.
There are underground "livestock" species in the eorlds of D&D. Plus, numerous types of mushrooms that are used not only as the basic "starch" of their diet but also many fiberous species that are grown and harvested for lumber. They are experts at mining, so creating ventilation shafts for fresh air is not outside their ability. They are not the only humanoids that live in the underdark. They are excellent crafters of metal goods, so trade is a large and important part of their survival. For the most part, their settlements seem to be fairly close to the surface, so they act as the "middleman" in trade between the surface races and those of the deep underdark. I don't believe it is too far-fetched to think dwarven culture would find ways to survive. Not to mention it is a fantasy world and magic can go a long way towards resolving what could otherwise be society killing obstacles.
I don't play D&D, I play Rolemaster + MERP.
I agree with making a character as something interesting. The issue is min maxers dont do that. They want to be powerful and perfect, so trying to get them to pick interesting is very difficult.
Mushrooms have very little nutrition. Better to raise rats that feed on the detritus in bat caves. And of course, in some lesser known places underground, ther are probably plenty of fish. But to the author of this video, if we used a single large Master shaft, our heims would be too easily detected.
I always think of them as Cloistered Clerics
The story is so jumbled up, it doesn't make any sense. In a few years it will be a forgotten series ridiculed by millions.
I do like some of the nicknames that they have created for the characters. Guyladriel,
I picture an odd match-up that would fun to play. A dwarven dancer of an elven baker.. not named keebler.
"ends with Yado, which is... just weird" 😂
what I often don't like is how the lighter armor types (below 9) are just objectively worse than not wearing armor at all... like look at the Cutlass chart - everything 5-8 is just worse than 4.
UA-cam has a feast or starve mentality. they can't find the happier medium.
Sad but true.
Clowndork never looked better
So I haven't gotten players up to the levels where getting to 100th level is a problem, but I don't actually see the problem. Critical and hit experience points are subtracted kill experience points, so there's not going to be a huge amount of extra experience points floating around, normally. Also, once delivering a critical is routine, it only gives half experience points, I generally roll routine to be somewhere between the 5th and 8th time you do it. I also generally want my players to level up fairly rapidly. And the fact you need an extra 10,000 XP every five levels for each level, to my mind should keep this under control. I can see the unbalancing between player characters. If all the characters with high offensive bonuses are getting the Lion's share of the XP, but half that XP is awarded as idea points at your discretion to the whole party, normally the magic users or anyone who is falling behind in XP for some reason, and it's really easy to justify "you don't get any Idea point XP because all you did was hit things really hard". You can also reduce the level of the opponents they're facing if there's just too much XP going around, kill points and critical points are both based off of the level of what they are fighting, there's nothing to say you can't reduce their level of the enemy without altering their stats at all. You're increasing the difficulty for the players and slowing their level advancement, but if that's what you want to do, you can certainly do it.
That is fucking awesome.

The ultimate nerd profession for a nerd.
This is classic! :) EDIT: Hm... I see I'm shadow banned here. Why did you do that, man?
As a former player in one of his games he is not just picking fights on UA-cam, he picked a fight with me as a player based on false accusations and then kicked me from his game without even acknowledging the truth in my defense. He is known for provocation in his games to players, expecting them to know numbers like we are mind readers. This news is not surprising, that person is a complete package of asshat. My experience with him, shows this is his nature.
🤣🤣🤣 Brilliant! The hilarious thing is he spews out videos asking viewers to give him a 'fair shake' and tells them not to believe 'the lies'. But what he can't actually grasp is that people don't like him because of the way he conducts himself on the internet and not because of his opinions. It's quite sad really.😂😂
He is so pathetic, he posted accusations directly toward you. He admitted going to your channel, love it.
He doesn't realize that he made his situation worse. He watched my video, he brought up the views from that older video. I stated that to feed his ego and bait the egomaniac. He watched every minute of my video, and I just love the ease of manipulating the twat.
More Condor BS, the same thing he was saying for years. You can not like or dislike a video 5 times, I tried. UA-cam does not remove likes or dislikes. They barely respond to reports. IMHO your better off not responding to him, its not like he will change. Thank him for the free press because you gained a few subs already
I know that Condork is never going to change. And it is pointless to argue or debate a pathological liar such a Condork. I am making him dance.. forcing him to lie more and more each day. everyone will laugh as he goes crazier trying to prove his lies. I also wanted to show the scene I made that is a mockery of his home and his retarded pirates flag. The plan is the do a couple videos and then ignore him. Condork is a lonely douchebag and this is the only way to get people to interact with him.

Excellent video, can't be clearer about the topic! I love the term "crispy games", I'm going to start using it, haha.
If they can call our games crunchy, we can call their games crispy.
"He doesn't think that should happen. Holy fuck!!" I love your rants. I have this same pet peeve, but it's funny hearing it from someone else. 😂
I tend to agree with you. I play Powers & Perils and the deadly hits scare me... whether it is the risk of my character's weapon breaking or getting hit by a deadly and getting one-shot, especially from a rear or surprise attack.
Our table played Curse of Strahd for 5e and we voted on using the "Crunchy Crit" house rule for both players and monsters. It was a tonne of fun (for us), and there were moment where player characters almost got downed from full health. I am somewhere in the middle in this. House rules are fine, but they are at play, they should apply to everyone at the table. I do find low-damage crits to be a bit anticlimactic, but if the "Crunchy Crits" are at play, it is only fair that I get hit with crunchy crits as well. How people play depends between tables. No table is for everyone and noone enjoys every table.
Believe it or not, this book was my intro to Rolemaster. I worked for the printing company that produced it, back in the day. My manager knew I played RPGs and gave me one of the 'sample' copies.
