Y62 Nissan Patrol - Bare metal respray under warranty
So the big girl is under going some major works. After a few assessments through Nissan they approved a full bare metal respray of my December 2020 build Patrol.
I have mixed feelings about having this done. On the one hand it will be great to be rid of all the missing paint spots and have a nice fresh paint job. On the other hand the whole car gets pulled to pieces and then has to be put back together again. I would be lying if i wasn't a bit nervous about having on going issues.
Before giving the go ahead I was able to visit the guys that are carrying out the work, Swan smash repairs, and was able to ask all the questions I wanted to and Mark was able to answer all my questions I had and even showed me photos of previous Patrols that he has done in the past. After feeling confident that they would be babe to do a good job and the way I had hoped I was happy to go ahead.
I will keep you updated on how the car is going and show you through the final results of the paint job. Fingers crossed its all good news.
Enjoy

Y62 vs Isuzu Mu - Mundaring powerlines January 2024

It had been a long time since I had been up to Mundaring to do a bit of rock crawling, so I headed up there with my mate Jules in his Isuzu Mu. It was a fun day out there testing some of the tracks. We didn't go too hard as it had been a while and we weren't keen on doing any fender bending. A rear locker in both cars made driving the tracks a lot easier and meant we could do it all a lot slowe...
Easiest roof mount solar panel install
Переглядів 1,9 тис.Рік тому
This has got to be one of the easiest ways to mount a solar panel on your roof rack. There was no drilling holes in to the roof rack or installing nutsert's etc. All I had to do was tighten some of ARB's tie down eye bolts on to the ARB base rack and then attach the solar panel, run your wiring and you are sorted. If you know an easier way drop in down in the comments and I will check it out. H...

After coming up with this design, drawing it up on paper and sending the plans through to Steve at Saltiga Metals, it's so satisfying to see it all come together and function as planned. Crazy an awning so expensive has so much diy to it. Im buying this to replace our tuff stuff 270 but that one was already 99 percent put together and took way less efffort to mount . At less than half the price 🤷

@@seanwatson3790 Hey bud Yeah I get what you’re saying. I guess the good thing about that is that you are more flexible on how and where you mount it and aren’t limited to where they have the studs coming out for you. Not sure how the other one came when you had it but with the way I fitted mine and on the Arb system the brackets can only go in very specific spots so the studs for the awning would have to be in the correct spot. And to be honest it wasn’t really that hard and didn’t take too long. The filming of it made it take a lot longer.

@@TravelExplore4x4 I had to use the universal ones it came with because they were flat enough to fit underneath where I have my tent mounted. Don't have a lot of clearance. Which is worrying me about this one a bit cuz the brackets aren't as thin as I might be needing them to be to fit under the tent to my rack
