I've started using notion the past few days after using OneNote for a few years and I find it MUCH more helpful in many ways and I love the customizability

I really wanted to like Notion, I tried multiple times because I'd like to use some of the advanced features like connections to other apps, and I liked the visual look of how people set it up. However, I've always reverted back to OneNote for the complete opposite of what you have said. I found Notion way too unstructured and overwhelming. It gives too much freedom to the point where it just wasted my time. OneNote has brilliant features (and I mainly use it on a MacBook which doesn't have as many features as the Windows version - which I use at work). It actually gives you a structure so you don't need to waste mental effort thinking about it if you don't want to, but has the same ability to navigate around in the exact same way you have just displayed in Notion. It can be flexible if you want it to be or a simple useful tool if you need it to be :) Plus it's free, although most people have the premium version through work/school.. Aaaand you can take notes wherever in the world you are - internet or not! I supposedly have severe adhd and after years of physical planners and endless apps that never worked, OneNote came to my rescue! It did take me around 6 months of just occasionally using it through work to finally understand its capabilities though, as I never initially gave it credit!

Wonderful video! I do not regret transferring my PKM system from Notion to Obsidian. It is way powerful and helps you focus on writing. I have been struggling with something recently. I don't know. Feels like you spend more time structuring notes then actually taking them with Notion. For databases and project management sure notion is great. But for taking notes it seems overkill. Note taking shouldn't be rocket science.

super important as its not obvious but turning existing text into page is done by selecting text and pressing [ twice you would think this would delete text or cut text insert brackets and paste text

These comments are hilarious. Comparing onenote to notion (or any other doc platform) is like apples & oranges. If you're fine w/ simply adding info to pages, use onenote. If you want to 100x functionality, use notion (or coda, anytype, capacities, tana, craft, etc). Microsoft made a notion clone called Loop for a reason.
