Goal: Make 2025 the MOST BORING year ever

#2025 #newyear #boringisbeautiful #theordinarylife We often think boring is, well...boring. But it can bring lots of rewards. Doing the things we NEED to do, on repeat, can feel dull...but all good things lie on the other side of doing the "boring" shit.
This Has Brought Me SO Much Peace

I simply had to make a video about this, because the level of peace I'm feeling from this one decision is amazing! I never realised how much peace I'd feel once I made this definite decision. You've heard me talk about not drinking alcohol on and off for a while now, but it's funny taking a definite decision can lead to more peace than I imagined, rather than just cutting back, or "seeing how I...

I’m a mess 😂 I pretty much stayed in my calorie allowance for the Holiday season but the quality of food I ate was crap. Highly processed, high fat, sugar, junk and 2 cocktails. The cocktails hit me particularly hard since I rarely drink anymore. The inflammation in my body is terrible right now. I’ve spent the last 5 days consuming nothing but fruits, vegetables, salmon, whole grains etc. I have cooked everything myself. Watching this reminds me that my protein intake is to low. Thank you for continuing to share your knowledge with us. 🩷

Your tips are the best!! I wonder if you could do a video on how to be kind without giving men the wrong impression! I really struggle with this balance as a female solo artist who provides live music at venues. I have to be nice to people because I need the tips and 'fans' and a friendly reputation etc, but some men take that 'niceness' in the wrong way. Solo gigging as a female has shown me how starving some men are for female attention. honestly if i wasn't having to entain the people for work, I wouldn't talk to them. It's scary! I wish I could put up a sign saying 'I'm a professional musician here to perform, not to date!'

@lillierose5304 Hi! Wow, that's quite a tough one...and I can well imagine how difficult that must be. Especially in the music/entertainment industry where I can imagine they are drinking...therefore making them even bolder and more needy. I am not sure I have an answer to that, I'll give it some thought.

Walking is brilliant ❤. We’ve had a walk out in the snow today. Was only 30 minutes but harder than walking when it’s normal weather lol 😂. I actually enjoy weight training. I’m not crazy about heavy weights though. You’re very slim but so toned too. Yes sometimes high intensity cardio can make you hungry. I enjoy it though. I find it trickier this time of year as so cold and want to hibernate lol 😂. Yes I do love my veg. With fruit I have berries more than other fruit as raspberries are great for fibre. Thanks so much for sharing as always. I’m plonked behind a desk for 10 hours a few days a week. I take incoming calls so time away from computer is limited lol 😂 ❤xxx

No ways, Louise. I don't do boring. Repetition doesn't have to be boring. It is an attitude. Boring is a choice. You can see things as boring, or put little creative touches on the routines and the shit that has to be done. For example, we have to make the bed and clean etc, but what's wrong with putting on some good music, or inspirational messages, or many beautiful things to spice up the mundane. Also, I find it helpful to be mindful about what we are doing, see the floor getting clean, see the colors of the veges we are preparing, the fresh smell, the taste, .I dunno many people think I am crazy. What's new!

I too love boring!! To me, boring is ordinary, and oh how I love the ordinary. Every night I thank God for the ordinary day that we had.. because on an ordinary, boring day, it means we ate nutritious food, we had clean water, no one was injured, and we go to sleep in warm beds. My children are safe, we are healthy. Such ordinary things, but things I never take for grated. When you consider the alternatives (sickness, injury, disadvantaged lifestyle..) my gosh you’re begging for things to just be “normal/ordinary/boring”!! So I am grateful for this. Also, I love boring/ ordinary, if it’s in contrast to drama. I have no energy or interest in gossip and drama, or comparing myself to others or jealousy, so give me boring every day of the week haha. Great video and happy new year! X

I have been on this journey for about 10 months now. I admit I do occasionally partake of a single cocktail but let me tell you even that will make me feel like crap. It’s almost like I have been poisoned. I have actually started thinking of it in that sense comparing it mentally to bleach. If I won’t drink bleach I won’t drink alcohol. Everyone in my circle drinks, absolutely everyone, but luckily no one pressures me. It’s a journey. Good luck to of us all doing this. I’m sending everyone support and success. Happy New Year ❤🎊🎈

Good for you! There is so much pressure to drink.. I had one glass of champagne tonight with my husband at home, as it’s NYE, and he asked if I wanted more but I said no, one was really enough for me, and then he pressured me so much, asking so many questions why wouldn’t I have more? I even have to justify myself to my husband! lol. So imagine the pressure one feels from outsiders at a party or something. The pressure to drink is very real. But I too have come to realise that the side effects are just not worth it for me. Especially when I go out, I like sticking to one glass only, and I make it last a long time, I enjoy that one glass (usually red wine). But limiting myself to that means I keep myself nice, and no hangovers the next day.

Merry belated christmas Louise From everything Ive learned in regards to binging/ eating disorders - what you are describing is more a type of bulimia ( non purging type, unless you purge ofcourse and havent said that...) but when there is any compensation to the over eating ( such as doing more exercise ' to balance calories', fasting or dieting / restricting, again to control calories and weight, or laxative and/or enema use, etc ) It is categorized more as a bulimia type than than ' true' binge eating, which usually is without compensation and dieting thus leading to overweight/ obesity... However to be clinically diagnosed I believe it has to happen at least 1x a week or 3 x a month or something like that. However being Quite skinny too and maybe skinnier than your naturally 'meant to be' ..., it could be a type of anorexia with binging tendensies ...( Yes thats a thing too) They binge but then compensate harder and longer so they still can stay skinny or get even skinnier over time... If at all interested, Ill recommend looking into Kathryn Hansens brain over binge method, its 2 books, and a podcast ( Ill recommend book 2; 'the brain over binge recovery guide', over book 1 ' the Brian over binge' - which is more of Kathryns own Eating disorder (exercise bulimia) and recovery story... Its good too, but dosnt really have tools, the 'recovery guide', has a step by step guide. and Ill def. Also recommend to check out her podcast , the brain over binge podcast - thats completely free 🙌🏽 ( podcast episode 1-11 is a good representation of the method ( all the other eps are good too but the first ones are a 'the base' of understanding the method)) Happy new year, hope you'll get a great year and find a solution that works for you ❤️

I use low fat mayo for egg sandwiches but always check calories before buying. On salad, i like a small amount of hummus , which at least has some nutrients. Tsatsiki, made with grated cucumber and yogurt, is also good on salad

@annawitter5161 Tzatziki is a good idea, never thought of that. Sometimes I've mixed my mayo with low fat yoghurt, as that reduces the calories too. Good ideas!

@Corrans tsatsiki is much nicer. I put fine chopped mint and garlic in. It's wonderful flavor with a salad

Yess.. 80% Mayonnaise has almost 750 kcal, 25% only 300. The problem is that they put 8g sugar per 100g into the 25g version. Yes it has lower kcal but imagine 2 cubes of sugar in 100g mayonnaise.. Anyways.. Mustard can be an alternative..

You could make your own. ¾ cup light olive oil 1 large egg yolk 1 tablespoon lemon juice 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard ½ teaspoon salt ¼ teaspoon ground black pepper (Optional) I would hardly call a shop version ( low kcal ) healthy. Ingredients listed below. Water, spirit vinegar, modified corn starch, rapeseed oil, sugar, EGG & EGG yolk (4%), salt, cream powder (contains MILK), citrus fibre, thickener (xanthan gum), preservative (potassium sorbate), flavourings (contain MILK), lemon juice concentrate, sunflower oil, colour (carotenes) 😊

I have made my own in the past, and it's delicious, it's just such a mission. But if I have time, it's good. Thanks for that reminder. The homemade one is quite high fat I think, though. xxxx

Louise, I think so many of us have our issues with food. For me, it’s when alcohol is involved. I’m looking forward to a dry January. If I drink, I’ll raid the fridge and my drinking isn’t great - a lot more than I want so looking forward to a break ❤xx
