Isn’t there a feature you can add to a loader on the 2025 that prevents the sudden drop when lowering a heavy loader bucket?
the true why The John Deere make this new version with button lever sx why needed to raise the deck while you during the mowing otherwise happen a thing with old version seem better instead nope why one hand your in both the lever for the steering the zero turn radius mower instead the other hand dx need to raise the deck by cutting height deck
Great camera view and content.... Please share more!
Just bought a 3oo series, used. Couldn't have done this without you. So thanks!
0:20 What is zed?? I thought it was called Z lol.. same thing with my truck the dealer calls it a Zed71 but it's a z71.
Great video. Thanks!
Anthony i had a 1025r first, the reason I got rid of that tractor was i ran over a stub tree that was sticking up,when I backed up it ripped off the hydraulic filter underneath the tractor and broke it off the tractor the damage cost me 2,300.00 the tractor only had 3.5 hours on it, so i asked the dealer if they had a better solution for the problem they said that the 2025r had double the ground height, so I bought it very happy with the taller tractor
you are nuts i have a 15 years old one and it is still great z720a
Hi Anthony. Thanks for posting this! Have you tried using it to level a lawn?
I have and it works well but so does a stone burier.
I got myself one of the John Deere 2025r tractors it's my first tractor
Thanks for the video. I'm looking at these two right now.
Very good now I want a 2025r
It's a good thing he picked this year model because cheap John Deere took away the belt loosening rod that this deck has and now requires you to have your own 3/8 inch ratchet wrench to take off your deck. It also requires you to perform a gymnastic maneuver to use your own tool and at the same time reach under the tractor and with your left hand while on your knees, pull back with the 3/8 inch ratchet, and then reach under the tractor with your right hand and take the belt off of the pulley. This must have saved JD $5 per unit but made taking off the deck 3 x harder. This is JDs history. Not making the tractors better but cheaper for them. They also made the two "J" hooks so that the hook end will not come out of the lift arm so that you can twist it to stay locked out of the hole. Now you have to fight the deck and the lift arm while holding the "J" hook toget it to release. It is fixable by cutting one circle of the spring off but why did they make this change?
Steel rear ended too VS the 3035E is cast aluminum… yes??
I have a x360 early 2004.? And this mower is setup much different then mine... Mine is a pain in the ass to remove.!
Care to give us an update? I’m looking pretty hard at this one or a 920M.
I'd like to know how it is holding up too. Great video. I'm adding a second mower to my property next year and wanted to do the bad boy maverick but the dealer is 40 minutes away. The Deer dealer is 5 minutes away, so I'm considering this instead. The other Bad boy I have has held up very well and super easy to service, so hoping to find a Deer that will give me the same results.
Love the videos but please invest in a microphone.
What do you think about the Tweet tires compared to the conventional tires? Do you get any turf scuffing when turning? Thanks
Generally no complaints unless the turf is extremely wet
Hinomoto HM255 great tractor ua-cam.com/video/9T7AsogUxO8/v-deo.html
Thanks for this video, especially the lift portion. One thing…not my business, but I’d like you to be around to make cool videos for a long time. A little bit of effort to lose some weight will make a huge difference in many areas of your life. Ask me how I know :)
You're right. It's not your business. Show some respect and delete your public comment.
good video. a real world test with heavy wet snow. most guys are showing light powder. Good job.
Nicely done. Thanks.
What size blade did you go with?
47in
@@anthonyallen1961 thank you. That’s not all wheel drive is it? Hoping my X520 will push snow like that if I buy the plow.
@@arejaye2143 nope. Diff lock is standard on the x5 series. I hardly ever use it though. Lots of weight is the key.
Not sure if you’ve mentioned it but do they have the exact same motor?
From my understanding, it is the same engine tuned up very lightly.
Please make a video on how to put the snow plow on!!! I can’t figure it out!
This is the most comprehensive review I have found. Thanks for making the video.
Thanks for a useful comparison!
if youre gonna make a review ( i know this was 2 years) at least know what the hell youre talking about...9 gauge deck. not 7.
That is great for you to point out. Yup, I misspoke. I won’t make a mistake ever again.
Agree taller tire adds ground clearance, but would it also give some more turning torque with increased radius from the center of the hub to the edge of the tire? Not sure about my terminology.
What size are those tweels ??
So if you don't buy a 1023e you might as well go ahead and buy 2025r?
Since both have the same loader, same horse power etc why would the 2025 have more lift power?
It’s a bit longer, and I think the pumps have a slight more power.
Slightly Bigger pump on 2025r
Do you have a mechanical thumb to fit my JD 260B in stock . . .is cost and shipping included . . .Im ready to buy today..
We should. Contact parts at 902-450-0712
Great vid but I would have done everything then rip and level driveway last to not mess it up again just cosmetic
New tractor owner here, just got the 3035D, haven’t received it yet. Do have to use the clutch to go back and forth between forward and reverse? Or can you roll to a stop and slap the lever into reverse?
You need to clutch To change direction
Son of a bitch! I’ve worked on hundreds of mowers. I’ve never had a problem removing or installing a deck. Today I was trying to put the deck back on a John Deere X340. I could not get the deck hangers to lower. So I’m out there spraying PB Blaster on shit thinking it’s seized. Trying to work the pedal back and forth. Just exhausted and pissed. Called it a night. Came in, took a shower, ate dinner. Thought I would see what I could find on UA-cam. Found your video. Just went back out to the shop and set the knob to the blank spot. Pulled up on the pedal, and pulled the deck lock up. The deck hangers are now down where I can easily install the deck. Damn it. Thanks for the video.
Great Video. Do the Tweels come standard on the Z740R or are they extra?
They are an option
Thanks, Mr. Allen. I'm torn between 1025 and 2025. I've sat on a 1025, but haven't yet seen a 2025. The 2025 ;looks like it has a little more room in the operators space?
The operations stations are very similar. No noticeable difference
JD 2025R generation one is a better tractor compared to the generation two. The "upgrade" just downsized attachments to a less capable 1025R version. For example, 270A backhoe, with 7' digging depth, is replaced with 260B, with 6' digging depth. The front end loader is downgraded from H130 to R120, etc. Separatable left/right breaks are lost during "upgrade" too... I found myself a 2014 generation one 2025R, and wouldn't even consider replacing it with a brand new generation two.
@ruslankadylak2999 That question was from 2021. ;) Not long after writing that I ended up picking up a '21 2025R - FEL, 3rd fnctn, grapple, ballast box, box blade & a few other attachments. I did not purchase the backhoe - a decision I've had reason to questioned three times so far. Otherwise, so far couldn't be happier. It's done everything I've asked of it. My only "complaint" is the 2wd/4wd lever - you have the option to replace, where I don't. ;)
Question when you don’t have an attachment hooked up do you have problems with your lift arms not dropping?
That would most likely be an adjustment on the drop valve. I don’t remember exactly where it is on this tractor, but it will either be a round black knob or a small tee handle. Usually located below or under the seat. This allows you you adjust how slow or fast the hitch drops. If cranked all the way it will also hold the hitch in the up position. Check in your operator’s manual for where it is on your model tractor
I know all that I was just wondering if when you moved the lift arms WITHOUT an attachment if the moved up and down I’m told different things on the matter. Thanks for answering
@@oklahomachris6298 yes they will move up and down without an attachment. If it doesn’t go down most likely that valve it turned too high. The down direction is all gravity, it does not have hydraulic power to lower
Ok I’ll mess with it more but all the way negative won’t allow it to drop all the positive won’t let it drop dealer says it’s so new it just real tight
@@oklahomachris6298 maybe. Does it drop if you push down on it?
Are these items available to order through all Green Diamond stores or just HFX?
Contact your local branch, if they do t have it in stock. Ask them to check with Halifax. I’m sure a transfer can be done. There are sold through the parts department.

wow, GREAT music video! turn the music up, I can barely hear it over all that noise!
I have the same deck and have not seen the type of mulching kit that you and I have. Is this an OEM kit? The plastic is throwing me off. I have had several x300 machines and never knew about pulling the pedal BACK to facilitate things. Thank you!
Hello, yes it is oem mulch kit
Slightly bigger pump + slightly shorter loader arms = the difference
How are the loader arms shorter? The 1025r and 2025r both had/ have the 120r loader. The only difference is the 2025r has a bigger hydraulic pump. Not making an argument against what u said but stating what I know
@@wraith3951 I think TTWT covered it. 2025r is taller, same loader would lift higher. I think they lift to same height. Could be wrong
@@MJF40 I think the height is portrayed as being higher but I think that is because the 2025r sits higher due to taller wheels. Could be wrong though
@@wraith3951 looked again 1025r loader mounts higher
Look at John Deere sticker on hood while they both lift.
2 year warrenty stinks I like jd will never buy a different brand but some other brands have a longer warrenty and 10 year warrenty on the decks they have the same engine and couple hundred dollars cheaper why is that
I like my.new 2020 e130 but it sucks on gas wish it got good gas like my la 125 21 hp single cylinder I think is a better engine
TURN THE MUSIC UP LOUDER!!! I CAN BARELY HEAR IT OVER THE FUCKING MOWER!!!
A turning radius test would be great to see.
I Really enjoyed this video. I recently started a UA-cam channel about the Hobby farm that we maintain with our 2038 are so I understand the amount of effort that goes into recording while you’re trying to get work done
does S houle make blowers any more? i thought maybe people weren't willing to pay for their level of quality, it was expensive.
