Same I was racing a Q in my q, I dashed him off the line 3 times but when i hit 100+ it doesn’t slow down but it just stop gassing at a certain speed

I’m at 161k bro. And I haven’t had any real problems for awhile other than replacing front tires all the time Lol. No electrical issues or nothing. Just regular on time maintenance.

@@deivida2935 once it gets to one bar it’s just the motor pushing out power. The power loss is significant.

@@TheHybridQ50S yes but even it is charged fully, i knew that it helped until 110 ish mph and its great to know that electric motor still helps at higher speeds too

@@deivida2935 no the electric motor is always pushing until it has 1 bar no matter the speed

@@AMWHits yea I lost some low end torque but made up for it up top.

@ We don’t have that problem on the VQ35HR for the top end as much because our Manifolds are better than 3.7s and have better all around power. What helps the most with top end power is gonna be the final drive gear ratio which will keep our engine band in the higher rpm and spin the wheels faster as well.

You hung really well with a 392 car which is impressive even if it’s 100% stock, let alone with any mods. Every time I watch your videos with the Hybrid I always think what a monster a 3.7/Hybrid Q50 would have been. The transmission tuning is finally available for my VR30 powered Q so I’m looking forward to getting that done in the near future and stepping my game up further. ECUTek says we can’t get any more line pressure out of it without upgrading the pump in the trans but full control of all TCM functions/features will still be a HUGE improvement.

@ this car surprises me till this day. I understand why they would use the 3.5, but a 3.7 hybrid would be nuts. I’m really curious how that trans tune is going to go since the trans has always been the crutch for these cars.

@ Yea I get why they used the VQ35 ; at the end of the day it was meant for efficiency and the added performance is just a positive side effect. Using the hopped up 3.7 would make it perform great, but wouldn’t offer as economical of a package as what you have in there now. Definitely excited about the trans tune; not being able to run any additional line pressure sucks, but I’ll gladly take all the other benefits & features of a TCM tune!

@@carlitostv3037 Deff can’t go wrong with this car. Pretty quick out the box(especially RWD) with nice MPGs.

That’s true for all the Q50s in general. (and most other cars too honestly) The RWD models put down more power to the wheels so they pull better up top. The AWD models do better from a dig and at lower speeds to get all that weight off the line and moving. I have an AWD controller on my Q50 so I can control my differential and I’ve done a ton of runs in different modes with the Draggy. My work truck which is an entirely different platform (Whipple F-150) is the same way. I launch out in 4wd and then it switches over to 2wd around 80 mph.

Almost bought a RWD Q but it was further than I wanted to travel.

@@ImJusSha AWD is like 120#s heavier yea. It’s really not that big of a deal once you start getting to the 400-500+ HP range of FBO cars.

Torque numbers seem kinda low on that car. I Deff wanna put my on the dyno and see where I’m at, maybe some day. Yup I always knew Elantra N’s were quick cars, I Deff don’t sleep on them anymore Lol.

@@TheHybridQ50S Actually the torque numbers are high. It's 286lb of torque stock on them. From everything I've seen every tune pushes the torque higher than it does the HP. Generally with the torque being 20-30 higher than the hp number. Unless your tuner messed something up. Everyone gets absolutely everything wrong about the N cars.

@@n20osboy it varies from wheel to wheel on what specs to get because of different spoke designs

@@TheHybridQ50S Yea I figured that was the case. It’ll be quite a different race once he’s all dialed in lol. Those hybrid Q’s still always amaze me though. I get why they used the smaller VQ35 because their goal was efficiency but seeing them in action always makes me think what a little monster a Q would be with the NA cars VQ37 bolted to that hybrid drivetrain package.
