A q50s hybrid is probably faster than a manual EN I have no doubt about it, but it's considerably slower than a dct with or without octane learning. Just look at quarter mile trap time. Even while being AWD vs fwd the q50s hybrid is slower, it'll be even worse from a roll Just FYI, an ots tuned Elantra N dct will be in the high 10s or low 11's 60-130. Stock turbo with meth people have finally broken 9s but low 10s are more common I seriously seriously doubt a basically stock q50s is coming close to that. A better example, mod for mod (ie bolt ons and tune), the Elantra N is faster than a first gen 340i from a roll. The gap would be way bigger if this thing was tuned

@@carlitostv3037 Deff can’t go wrong with this car. Pretty quick out the box(especially RWD) with nice MPGs.

That’s true for all the Q50s in general. (and most other cars too honestly) The RWD models put down more power to the wheels so they pull better up top. The AWD models do better from a dig and at lower speeds to get all that weight off the line and moving. I have an AWD controller on my Q50 so I can control my differential and I’ve done a ton of runs in different modes with the Draggy. My work truck which is an entirely different platform (Whipple F-150) is the same way. I launch out in 4wd and then it switches over to 2wd around 80 mph.

Almost bought a RWD Q but it was further than I wanted to travel.

@@ImJusSha AWD is like 120#s heavier yea. It’s really not that big of a deal once you start getting to the 400-500+ HP range of FBO cars.

Torque numbers seem kinda low on that car. I Deff wanna put my on the dyno and see where I’m at, maybe some day. Yup I always knew Elantra N’s were quick cars, I Deff don’t sleep on them anymore Lol.

@@TheHybridQ50SThanks for the quick reply! Right, but would you happen to know any specs for the 18" wheels that would not scrap the big brake calipers? I'm looking to fit them on some 225/50 tyres, as this is the size that was fitted on lower spec trims on the Q50 model.

@@n20osboy it varies from wheel to wheel on what specs to get because of different spoke designs

@@TheHybridQ50S Yea I figured that was the case. It’ll be quite a different race once he’s all dialed in lol. Those hybrid Q’s still always amaze me though. I get why they used the smaller VQ35 because their goal was efficiency but seeing them in action always makes me think what a little monster a Q would be with the NA cars VQ37 bolted to that hybrid drivetrain package.

Yup the right portion is the power meter and the left side is how much it’s recharging.

I thought he would get me from a dig too but these hybrids always surprise me.

@@TheHybridQ50S actually we have 410+torque @ 2000 rpm on the pavement so it make sense to beat the tls of the line making less torque and weight more than the hybrid

@@GODiscomingsoonagain I know but they have a way better transmission. In a lot of videos i’ve seen, the type s would always jump ahead in a dig…then get beat eventually Lol

@@TheHybridQ50S yes sir type s tech is better is newer.q50 since 2014 with same old 7speed trany type s has 10 speed way better for sure. I tought they update the 9speed from z for the q50
