Where did you get the rack that attaches to the mountain top roller shutters??
minute 10:29 is priceless!! :) good work mate!
2yrs on, how has the Kick Ass battery box held up?
What mount is that for the maxtrax?
Great job mate...👍
Can anyone help with the problem of the tent won't lock in straight to keep it level.
How is it going over time
Personally not a fan of the brand truck but have to admit it looks and acts like a beast! Epic work mate. Looking forward to seeing any new updates
Hey great channel ! Dumb question here..much like you I dont want to have any 'perm fixtures' in my XLT tub and need to use a tub rack to place an rtt. The thing is, given the space required for a fridge and sliding drawer it does not leave much space especially the way the shutter roller is installed. Would you remove the shutter roller and store more stuff in the space between the fridge top, the drawer and the tub rack top? Just wondering how to secure equipment stored there
Did the rear lights work with upgraded taillights?
The brackets in the front are for the lightbar installation.
Hi mate great video, you helped me get my own tub rack and rtt set up today. Where did you get that maxtrax holder on the side of your tub rack from? Looks really handy. Cheers!
Why did you buy a four door instead of a ute?
What’s is everyone doing for the exposed tub? Do u need install a roller shutter ?
I’m planning on leaving mine exposed or cutting my cover to fit the rack
10:21 sounded like you jizzed in your pants😂 just bought me one for my everest and hope I have the same expression on P3.1 😂
Awesome stuff
I am looking at options for a trailer and looking at installing adjustable height legs or a design that can allow the tent to free-stand. thought of getting some modular storage racks that can act as stands when required, thus giving me more layout options and freeing up the car.
Do you have a video fir install of bespoke supports?
What is its weight capacity?
Missing are the options to bolt the tent to the roof rack? Could you design it so that you could set up the tent as a stand-alone if you wanted to leave the tent standing when you want to use the car and retain your camping spot? I am thinking of using it with a trailer but in the meantime use the roof rack
Great video mate just what I was looking for! Cheers.
Awesome 🍺
Hey mate how tall are the silver mounting brackets under the tent?
Hey mate, quick question, did you have to make your own hole or did you use an existing hole feeding the wire from the tub to under the chassis? Could you give more detail and a run down of how you got it through the tub liner/tub itself?
Hey mate, there are existing holes at the top of the inner tub skin I tried to show as best as I could in the vid, but if you remove the splash guard and stick you hand right up there you should be able to find them Once the wiring is through, I was able to pull back the tub liner slightly and pull it over the top Cheers for watching 👍
Thank you for shared
Cheers for watching mate 👍
Good work bud.
Cheers mate 👍
Spare tyres should be in the tub if possible. Keep that weight down low brother.
I agree mate, unfortunately my towbar doesn't allow the 33" tyre to fit under the tub and I need all the room I can get inside the tub Cheers for watching 👍
Thanks mate this is exactly what i was looking for.. Perfect 👌
Glad I could help mate 👍
Nice job ,thanks for the tutorial,I got some great ideas from ya.😊 Cheers
No worries mate 👍 Cheers for watching
G'day, we have the same tub rack & tent, but the the rack cross bars can't seem to line up for the width of the tent's bars. They are adjustable but we can't seem to get the 800mm width without it being way off centre. Any advice?
G'day Annette, I had the same problem with mine but moved the top bars where they needed to be 800mm apart and drilled new holes. Apply some etch primer undercoat with a cotton bud to prevent rust and you're good to go 👍
Turn the crossbars on the bottom of the tent, so they run from left to right. Then your problem is solved
Nicely done Champ. Very impressive. Great work, you should be proud of what you built. Just like you, need my ute tub for work but also needed for camping on weekends... Thank you for the inspiration. I've got the same XTM drawers and XTM slide out kitchen and need same solution. Subscribed.
Cheers mate! It's all about what works for you Would love to see some pics when your done with yours 👍
Get day from Mildura just found your channel 😊 will keep going and see what you say about the kings roof top tent ⛺️
Cheers for watching 👍
Thanks for the vid...that's the exact setup I'm doing but on a trailer. Yours looks great! Hope it brings a lot of fun.🙂👍
Cheers mate! Now just have to be a le to get away more often 👍
Mate you nailed that! Very neat good job. We have subscribed
Cheers guys! Maybe I'll see you out on the tracks 👍
Aye that’s my old Engine 😂
Haha cheers mate 👍 She'll be built one day 🤣
Bravo! Well done! 😉
Cheers mate 👍
Good vid. Perhaps different music choices would appeal to a wider audience…I almost turned it off because of it and I wouldn’t watch more content if that’s what you got in all of them.
Cheers mate, still very much experimenting with what works 👍
Hey mate have you run the cables for the reverse lights? Can’t seem to find a clean way to run them into the tub
Hey mate, check out my DIY Control Box vid I ran between the tub and cab, then inside the tub skin above the wheel arch There's holes at the top, I think I tried to show them in my Kickass Powerstation vid Cheers for watching 👍
Thanks for this guide. I’m waiting for my order to arrived and be installed.
No worries mate! Cheers for watching 👍
Dude! Killed it.. very well done!
and subscribed mate. Thinking of doing something similar but wasn't sure how to attach it the tub. Legend!
Cheers mate! Glad you enjoyed it 😊
What tub rack do you have? Whats the dimensions? I dont want to take my sports bar off so looking for a shorter rack
Hey mate, I've got the OzRoo full height 3/4 length ra k to suit Ranger Wildtrak Check out the vid on my channel 👍
Did you have to drill the bed in order to install the rack?
Hey mate, not with the roller cover There's a rail system that you can bolt the rack to Check out the video on my channel 👍
how is the wind noise mate?
I haven't noticed any wind noise at all from the rack mate, the wind fairing must be doing its job 👍
No corrugated tubing to protect the wiring harness, no heat shrink on connections and running the compressor straight from the AGM battery. Not to mention that the battery box is the wrong way around. There are anderson plugs on the end as well as the back. All in all a pretty average attempt at a very simple install.
Not pretending to be a professional mate, used everything that came with the battery box I haven't measured amperage the compressor draws but haven't had any issues running it from the AGM
@@Shenanigans4x4 until it drops a cell. 😂😂
What was the wind noise like (bare rack) before the tyre was put on top?
I didn't notice any noise prior to and after putting the tyre up there, the wind fairing must be doing its job 👍
Seriously dig this control box. The link has expired unfortunately what's the diameters of the box if you don't mind?
Hey mate, dimensions were 290 x 210 x 100mm Cheers for watching 👍
@Shenanigans4x4 thank you appreciate it ima try get the same and build along with you
Just fitted the tub rack and tent. Be the worst job I’ve ever had to do. Wasn’t happy with the 4 bolts that hold the rails on. Just not enough meat on them. Deleted the rails and used larger bolts direct through to the rack. Used 4 of the six tub rails on top so the whole tent sits flat on it. I also introduced some thin ply to the tent over hang to eliminate the crunch effect when entering it. Yet to try it all out.
I know what you mean about the bolts mate, I modified the rack so the allen bolt heads lined up in the rails keeping it a bit more sturdy but haven't had any issues with the bolts into the floor of the tent
Hey mate was just looking on ppd. Did you get the rack for wild trak 2015-2022. Also did you grab the full height (3/4 cab length) rack
Yeah mate it's full height 3/4 length, I think when I got it the title was just with Wildtrak feet Pretty sure they're all the same though from PX1 to PX3
@@Shenanigans4x4 wicked mate thanks heaps. Keep up the great work!
Had this for a few years. Pack up and set up required an extra ladder as I had it on top of a Delica. The tent was brilliant. Warm, waterproof, sturdy. Camped in heavy snow and it held up the weight. I packed it up wet a few times, and when set up again a few weeks later there was no mould or mildew and the water was still beading on the outside. Interior was always dry and never musty. I discovered the 6 man annex wasn't remotely water proof though. It was always an indoor swimming pool if it rained at all. I'd done a few road trips around NSW with the tent. Setting up and packing up every day got a little tiresome. Few years later it started developing a bit of wear and tear. Straps breaking, the floor began creaking and cracking, buckling. But for the cost of it, I got a lot of use out of it before it needed replacing. I upgraded to the Tourer X a few months ago. It doesnt feel as big on the inside as the original Tourer, but it's not a bad tent. Can't leave blankets and pillows inside like you can with the tourer though. Has to be emptied.
Good to hear I'll get a bit of use out of the tent mate Note taken though, I'll try not to set up the annex in heavy weather 👍
Cheers mate good video..mine is the roos system special but identical to yours ...mine also came with drill shavings absolutely everywhere insids the tent and my ladder was the same but was supplied fat plastic washers to make up the gap but still didn't look good to begin with.. all ok now...but just seems put together but a 15 year old in a back shed ...
Probably made in the same factory haha As long as it does the job at the end of the day 👍
