Mummy's Crispy Caramelised Garlic Roast Pork in Dark Soya Sauce (黑酱炒烧肉)
Mummy's Crispy Caramelised Garlic Roast Pork in Dark Soya Sauce (黑酱炒烧肉)
Ingredients
280g Roast Pork
23 cloves of Garlic
2.5 Tbsp of Dark Soya Sauce
1.5 Tsp of Sugar
Cooking Oil as needed
Instructions:
1. Peel and rough chop the garlic into small pieces.
2. Slice roast pork and place in a pan on low heat to render out some of the fats.
3. Once the roast pork is lightly browned at the bottom, flip them over and continue cooking the other side.
4. Add in the garlic to the pan with the roast pork and stir fry until fragrant.
5. Add in Dark Soya Sauce and stir to coat the roast pork evenly.
6. Next, add in the sugar and stir to caramelise the sauce.
7. Immediately remove from heat to prevent the roast pork from burning and serve. This dish goes very well with rice.

    u can use the steel pan to fry the ginger instead of transferring. Also never over heat the sesame oil as it will not taste good. You should fry the ginger with half normal oil first then when about to be golden brown the ginger u add the sesame oil. For a richer taste dont add water, add shaoxing wine! no need DOM!

    If you have never tried martabak manis then you MUST TRY this. It is surprisingly so much better than you think it is. We bought about 30 of these in singapore if not more. Its addictive like crack is to drug addicts LOL I would travel long distance just to eat this dessert. :)

    Can I use normal white sugar or brown sugar instead of palm sugar? Many thanks :)

    • @JiaYingL
      @JiaYingL 2 роки тому

      Hi Siulan, you may substitute with white or brown sugar although the taste might differ as palm sugar has a unique taste profile. If there’s no palm sugar near you, it would be better to substitute with brown sugar as they contain molasses and adds a bit more depth of flavour compared to white sugar. Hope this helps 🤗🤗🤗

    Freshly made cones is pretty special! Check out all those flavours too! Which flavour gelato did you get, JiaYing? 😻😻

    • @JiaYingL
      @JiaYingL 2 роки тому

      It is indeed special isn’t it? I got the peach and rose sorbet this round cos it was something I’ve never tried before 😍. Tastes tangy and refreshing! The lychee raspberry flavour is one of our favourites (my mum is a fan of that) and the white chrysanthemum is genius! My friend tried it and went “it’s like eating tea” 😍😍😍

      @@JiaYingL .....not sure, it wasn't a flashy place with a big sign on the outside, the dining area was very modest. Had to walk upstairs to get in. Really close to downtown. I know, that narrows it down to a thousand other places! lol! That was in 1999, so it has been a while.
