It is interesting that 'the GLASS' of the Construct is mentioned a few times, in the game. I also think we'll get more info in The Pristine Edition of the game. A truly interesting and well-written story. A beautiful love tangled in hate, fear, and the unknown.

I despise, understand, and appreciate the Narrator. He lies to us to deceive us into killing our own other half. He desperately fears death, at least for those he loves. And yet, he created this love story between Quiet and Princess. Without him, they never would have become two Gods (or God-like beings, in the Into The Unknown endings). They would have remained a single Concept without consciousness. So he gave them love. And with that love, they can make a better world.

Yeah, witch, thorn, razor, and specter are my favorites. If I had to add a 5th, it'd be nightmare or adversary. Either one is fine.

This feels like if the have shifty reset everything ending has happened hundreds of times and the long quiet has just come to the end again and remembered

I love the details this game has

I was wondering why the long quiet is depicted as a bird like monster. I think it is because after the narrator died and created the echo that would serve as the guide to the player. The newly created Long Quite inhabited the narrator’s former body. This is supported by the form the narrator takes in the mirror. He is a crow an animal similar in appearance to what he was in life, and literally a reflection of the long quiet.

Those chibi versions are actually really helpful for identifying some of the smaller differences in each princess’s designs, nice.

I dont get why people are against narator, as soon as i entered the game i got the good ending. Ofcourse i wasnt setisfied but at the and of the game i killed her again. He wanted to break meaningless sycle and create a world without death and suffering. He wanted to save the world and there is nothing else to it. I dont get the people who chose to free the princess. I mean even if he is vague about it he gives acurate information, there really is no much to it than slay the princess and save the world.

The voice of the german would compain about the cabin violating various DIN norms and would ask the Narrator if he has a Baugenehmigung for the construct.

I find it very strange when people think the narator was a moron who had a very simple goal or plan. As if he set up everything that led to this without any tact or nuance. I think he left an echo that was meant to antagonize lightly, as to push the MC towards the "good" ending because it would give the next world a better chance by giving human perspective to these gods. Thats what a good narator would do, after all.

I like to think if the "glass shards" can exist as seperate entities, and The Princess can repair the construct and piece the Echo back together, then I'd like to the TLQ can also pull the Echo back together and then give it its own existence.

you made a big mistake, the narrator doesn't 'reset' every time, he is a deferent echo every time, some echoes do make these mistakes, some do not. every time you die, the world ends and then you go to a deferent one, with a new echo.

I think everything in this game, including The Narrator, has a higher, undefinable meaning. Everything is nebulous, surreal. If you told me this whole thing was a dying man's dream I'd believe you. If you told me it was literally about the death and rebirth of universes, I'd wager you just as correct.

I guess I have an uncommon opinion of the other voices because I've only ever seen them referred to as part of the God the Long Quiet. Instead, I think they're what happens to the echoes when they die. They're not destroyed completely when the world ends. Instead, they change based on what happened with the princess in the previous world and are launched into the next one. That's why the new voices are referred to as shards of glass by the spectre and the echo is always presented as a mirror. They're transformed pieces of his echos. The protagonist makes choices to perceive the princess as a victim or a damsel and the remnant of that echo becomes a romantic fool in love with death. If they fight that echo's remains become stubborn etc etc. It makes much more sense than the Long Quiet having voices follow him around after each attempt. He is the Long Quiet afterall, why would he have so many voices? Why would he change? Quiet doesn't change. Echoes do. Also in the end when the narrator is gone all of the voices disappear until you fight or resist the shifting mound's attempt to become free. That one voice who comes back is the hero. The one fragment of the echo who overcame his arrogance and fear and realized he had to let the Gods work out how to fix the mess he created. That's the one fragment of an echo that wants to do the right thing and has overcome his hero complex (irony points). The rest of the voices all hate or distrust the narrator because after dying and changing, they realize he's wrong about the shifting mound. She isn't the end of everything she's a transformation and they're proof of that. But most of them are still too stubborn and arrogant to make their way to the end, only the hero offers to help and lead him to the heart of the construct his predecessor created. Only the hero accepts his faults and offers to stay behind in the construct his predecessor attempted to slay death in.
