Very cool!
Thanks mate, I'm really happy with how this guitar turned out.
@hellosailoreffectsoffical You did a great job on the relic. It looks great and I love the one p-90 and one bucker with just the wrap tail. Also, the hello sailor makes it! If u dont mind me asking, where did u have it built? Shes a '54 replica with a bucker in the bridge and arch top inlays ? Super cool!
“…And this next pedal on my pedalboard is a fuzz that I soldered whilst cruising around the arctic circle. Pretty neat”
Thank you mate much appreciated.
How about a tone mod for a Boss DD2? I have one on my Boss DSD3 and makes it sound more analogue when engaged.
Oh cool! I have the same pedal that i have modified. I'm in!
I'm gonna start relic'd car business.😂
Ha ha ha ha I would love to see this! "Age your Range Rover to looks like a classic Land Rover".
I think a tutorial on pedal graphics might be good!
Oooooo that's a good one! Thank you mate I'm definitely going to do that.
The clone & stone is still hilarious…and your edit was perfect. Whatever you wanna do mate; I’m here for it 🙌
Thanks Aaron I'm made up to have you along for the ride. I thought it was funny too! Might as well share the mistakes ha ha.
That compression tho ❤
Cheers mate 🍻
Who built the guitar? I mean cut the body, carved the top, glued it all together etc ?
A guy local to me built it in his flat. I chose all the wood etc. He even cloned my 1960 melody maker neck. If you contact Crater Guitars on Insta he builds for them.
love the SCC pannel coment!
Ha ha can't go wrong with the SCC! Made me laugh.
Knipex
Love them mate.
@@hellosailoreffectsofficial I think I will buy a pair Joe, as my old nippers just lost a tooth :)
@TeleBlaster That'd awesome mate. You won't be disappointed.
I'd love to see somd mods on a few of the more budget clones too 😉👍 great vid as always gent
I really need to do this after the success of my Vintage Overdrive mod. I have one of the VooDoo Octave pedals on order for exactly this. Cheers mate.
G'day Joe, Being an Aussie, we have Vegimite, not Marmite. But that doesn't matter - I hate Vegimite, and I hate guitar relicing too. I prefer to keep my guitars looking as new as possible, for as long as possible. I know that a guitar will get knocked around, pickguards will get scratched & crack, paint will wear off, steel parts will rust, fretboards will develop grooves, and binding will crack & fall out. But I prefer that to happen over a life of playing them. Luckily for me, I am old enough to have a couple of guitars that have been worn from properly. That being said, I still enjoyed your video. Keep up the good work. Andrew BTW, how did you go with Living In The 70's?
Thank you Andrew I really appreciate the response. I thought I may invoke more controversy WRT relic guitars but it appears people feel less strongly about it. I totally see your point with the ageing side of things. I was much the same at one point too. Ah yes Vegimite! We had that whilst deployed to the Pacific. Also not my kind of thing ha!
I love a relic. Did it to my Strat. Aged all the plastic parts like pickup covers etc with some sand paper and soaked them in coffee overnight, rusted some of the metal parts in salty water and dinged the body up with a claw hammer
I think you learn a lot by doing this process for sure.
Very Steve Jones. Love it
Thank you mate much appreciated 🙏
I love the pickups combination!
Thank you mate
I need to get a goldtop now
Absolutely! The question is, will you age it though?
Looks awesome mate, great job! Also, love the pickup combo of Humbucker/P90, my favorite! 🔥
Thank you mate much appreciated. I completely agree. Stu over at Sunbear pickups did a fantastic job on these.
You've always got such impeccable taste in instruments. I'd definitely not be brave enough to do this myself, but you did a great job 👍
Thank you mate 🙏 It made it quite scary to ding up ha ha.
F__king great sound
Thank you mate
I like how you do this but the real thing is always the best . What happens to your guitar on the road is unbelievable hahaha or the amps rolling down the road faster than your car hitting muds mostly and occasionally stone or house or even another car LOL
I completely agree mate. I totally get why people wouldn't like this wort of this but I find myself drawn to it.
tastefully done
Thank you mate 🙏
Gold tops FTW
Absolutely mate. I'm a huge fan of them. Do you have a goldtop?
I had a R7 which I had to sell to help move my family back home. I loved that guitar and miss it dearly but I also have a goldtop PRS which I've had since 2000 and is my favourite guitar. It's the last guitar I'd ever get rid of. Who made your goldtop Joe? The specs are spot on BTW. I'm a big fan of p90s in the neck and split parallelogram inlays are chefs kiss .
@@jonnywassober7008 It was made by a guy local to me in Portsmouth in his flat! I chose each piece of wood for it! I specked out every detail. Including the deep carve on the top. Your prs sounds amazing!
Nicely done Joe! Your video was very enjoyable and that guitar is very much inspiring me to seek out a gold top, haha. Keep at it!
Thank you mate, I really appreciate it. The question is, will it be aged or not 😉
Great video Joe ! Very informative as usual ! Guitar sounds amazing with that pedal you have made aswell !Cant wait for the next one !!
Thank you mate. Question is do you like relics or not?
@@hellosailoreffectsofficial yes mate, they defo look better than a sparkly one off the shelf !
@@glynnunn3908 Absolutely mate 100%
that was good bro the sustain on your swifty relic is awsome man here have your gold star back i made it bigger for you
Thank you mate. I love how this turned out! You thinking of trying to relic any of your guitars?
Do you Love or Hate RELIC guitars? How about Marmite? I would love to hear your thoughts in the comments below. Personally I can't stand the stuff but my daughter likes it.
I dont think Keith Moon is shaking in his boots with that drumming 😂😂
He's got nothing on me ha ha.
awesome
Thank you mate I have more coming
Front row red shirt 😊
Nope, guess again 😎
:D :D :D
Hell yeah.
Mechanical engineer here. I like to tie 2 lesser resistors together in an inverted V shape when I don't have the exact value but as with your oversized one they usually don't quite equal what I'm looking for. The important thing for people to remember is the tolerance of your average parts can be 10-20% so if you can get reasonably close it'll be fine. I leave an air gap under my components too btw 🫡
And by the tats I'd guess you're the bloke in the blond wig lmao subbed
Love it mate. Yeah people absolutely should remember that old components have especially large tolerances.
Ha ha yeah that's me mate. I won 3rd place in the "Miss Kent" competition. Great to have you along for the journey.
That's a massive mod. You can get a lot of mileage out of just reducing the bass frequencies going into the clipping section, and lowering the gain a bit. That, if done right, leaves you with everything most love about the BD-2, and eliminates the things that bug many people about it. If you're going to make that many changes, might as well do the Machine Head Pedals Galaxie mod.
G'day Joe, Thanks for another great, enjoyable video. It was very imformative, but I want to add to your skyhook comment. The Skyhooks were a glam rock band in Australia, from the 1970's. Their big album was titled "Living In The 70's". Half of the songs on the album were banned for radio play, and the other half were big hits. If you want to listen to them though, I would recommend you find the song called "Women In Uniform" - I'm not going to say that you'll like it, but I think that you'll get a kick out of it. There's also the travel-tower repair where I needed a skyhook, but I'll leave that for another day. Keep up the good work Andrew
Thank you Andrew I really appreciate the kind words. Mate! I'm going to get right into them! They sound like a band I would love.
LOL... No wucking furries.
Very interesting indeed. As a non sparky this is fascinating stuff. Cheers for the time to upload and do this. 😊. Just subscribed today at work.
Thank you mate, I really appreciate that. I'm actually a mechanical engineer by trade (mostly refrigeration), but I, too, find this stuff absolutely fascinating. Are you going to have a go at building one?
Great Video Joe, very informative !!
Cheers mate my pleasure 🙏
Legend Joe. Love your videos dude.
Thank you mate I really appreciate that 🙏 I was quite concerned that they wouldn't come out interesting at first. I've got to say the response had been HUGE! I've git to say I'm very grateful.
Also they're the biggest damn 47pf caps I've ever seen 🤣🤣🤣
@jonnywassober7008 I've just posted the internals of a fuzz on my Instagram woth genuinely a larger output cap 🤣
Great video!
Thank you mate. I'm totally new to thus filming malarkey.
I need to start making more videos. Was that you in the blonde wig and black dress in the picture?
@madsenamplification Ha well spotted. I come 3rd place in the "Miss Kent Beauty Pageant". I want to start doing more live stream format.
@madsenamplification Have you got an idea on what type of videos your going to record?
Have you changed your microphone? Sounds different to the last ones.
Yeah it changed a video or two ago. Hopefully for the better?
😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅 Cable!
Great video. In Brian we trust 😀
Thank you mate. He's an absolute legend.
WTF IS THAT STUFF? IS IT CRAP?😂😂
It's actually decent mate. It's steel reinforced epoxy.
😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅 is that you in the corer of the pic
OMG!!!!! ha ha ha ha
