A day in the life eh
More like 3 days 😀
Bigg al been on tthe weetabixx 😊
He needs to keep his strength up.
well done Morgan, doing a cracking job, im getting some of them for my place soon much better than blocks
Thanks. Better, easier and cheaper 👌
much faster than building a wall 👍
Easier and cheaper, plus, if you decide that you want to change anything they can be lifted out.
How thick are the panels
The panels are 100mm thick.
Interesting. Thanks for sharing this. Very similar setup to the Polaris Ranger front final drive. Helpful to see! 👍
No problem. Thanks for watching. The front wheels on the John Deere are smaller than the rear wheels, so if you're on hard ground in 4 wheel drive the front diff winds up. That seems to be what causes the problem.
useful vid 👍
Thanks. I hope it's helpful to someone.
That Disco looks like its ready for take off 😂
By the time it retires it will have done enough miles to get to the moon and back.....it's done 250k already.
very good vid 👍
Thank you 👍
Legend thank you ❤
Thanks for watching.
Excellent informative video, and very helpful to those of us with MFs looking for some practical tips on how to do work on our own tractors. Unlike a lot of other channels, you actually show and explain everything you do. Keep up the good work.
Thanks for the positive comment. If I make a video that helps somebody then that makes it all the more worthwhile, especially when we all know how expensive it can be to get a tractor repaired.
Run a beed of weld on the ID of those cups they will fall out
Thanks for the advice. That's what I did.

Your cock-ups can save others a lot of time and money, keep up the good work
I hope it does help someone Dave. We'd get nowt done if we weren't prepared to make a few mistakes along the way.
Very helpful video and just what I needed right now as I have an Ifor to do at the moment. Getting the hub nuts loose is already the first problem but I've just ordered a heavier bar and 3/4" drive socket. Thanks, once I'm past the hub nuts issues, then the rest of this will be incredibly helpful.
Thanks for the comment. I'm glad you find it useful.
You and 'The Persuader' made that look easy
Me and the power of editing. There was quite a bit of hammering edited out.
Good stuff M

Dont get stuck in a rut mate 😂
If in doubt, give it a clout
Keep up the good work mate
A rubber band holding those bearings in the plastic would help.
@bc2551 Good idea. Thanks for the comment.
Shit steel from China 😂😂😂
@cheguevara5560 There's too much of it unfortunately.
Worth watching a bite of maintenance can save you a lot of money. 👍 🇮🇲
Thanks for the comment. That's true. A lot of these maintenance jobs aren't too difficult either.
I've just had this exact problem on my CLS320, tyre fitter for the previous owner has buzzed all the nuts on to a ridiculous degree, it took all 16 stone of me on the end of a 3ft bar to crack the hex bolts loose so obviously the locking nut snapped just like yours. I've got hold of a new key but not sure how I'm going to get this locking nut out! I've got some reverse thread female stud extractors coming so hopefull they work...
@stevendcruze7395 I don't understand why mine were so tight, I put them on myself and I never overtighten them. If they needed to be so tight the car manufacturers would supply a longer wheelbrace. The best way to get them off is to split the outer ring with a good quality sharp steel chisel then use the stud extractor. Hope that helps.
I just got an ifor williams trailer second hand that I needed to do this maintenance on. I bottled it though and dropped it off at Hexham trailers. Nice to hear another Northumbrian. I'm just down the road in Blyth. Very informative video.
@lifeoftreedom, thanks for the comment. One of the reasons for the channel is to help others to do some of these jobs themselves. I'm not trained in anything, and still make plenty of mistakes , but if I can do it, then so can you. I was born and raised in County Durham, but my fatha was born in Blyth, so I've probably got a bit of a hotchpotch of dialects in there...mixed with a lot of mumbling. Stay safe in the treetops and good luck with your channel.
Excellent work. I really enjoyed the honest commentary. Thank you for sharing
Thanks @Gazman. We're just a couple of regular guys trying to to do our own maintenance. We prefer to tell it as it is. I've just uploaded a video showing where we went wrong in this video.
Great video just what I needed. Can I ask if you are using 45 socket? I’ve got 46 and it feels a bit slack on the nut. Cheers.
It’s a 45mm, just finished servicing mine.
@almusti. I can't remember, but I'll check tomorrow when I'm back at work.
@@61specialthank you in advance!
As Angus 57 says, it's probably 45mm but I must have used a 46mm as I've just checked my socket set and I don't have a 45mm. Hope that helps.
Thank you
You're welcome. Thanks for watching.
Thank you for this video!
Glad it was helpful!
great job!
Thank you! Cheers!
What was wrong with the auto? Guessing it's 8 speed, which I thought was bulletproof?
Yes, it is an 8 speed. It was jumping gears. There were quite a lot of bits of metal in the filter. For the price of a second hand box it wasn't worth the hassle of finding out what the problem was. We got the box from the same people that we got the engine from and they're pretty reliable.
If you do work on range rovers you will never be short of work . AA 1 of the most called out to cars
Very true. That's why we have 2 Discoveries.....They're still the best all rounder for what we do though.
Wow that 3rd one would have defeated me, how did it go so tight?
Hi @AngusAbbott-qf8xm I'm not sure how, but it was seriously tight. I had the same problem with my locking wheel stud on the car. I broke two sockets trying to get one off. It was only two months since I had the wheel off and I definitely didn't over tighten it. One of life's mysteries.
Haha same here mate 😂 keep at it M
What u growing son 😁
I'm going to have a go at tomatoes, green beans and weeds. No prizes for guessing which will be the most successful.
Nice video and rebuild A lot of those vehicles have tracked wheel replacements (places with lots of snow seem to use them), just bolt on normally on hub, could be worth looking into for the wetter half the year
Hi @williamwazere. Thanks for the comment. I'm sure the tracks would be useful, but we couldn't justify the expense, especially when the quad bike will do anything the Gator will and more. The only advantage the Gator has for us is that it's safer for kids to ride in ( and it keeps the rain off ).
I regularly get a call from the man next door for a pull out with his JD gatter I go with Kubota ecivalant and pull it out and prove it's shite in the wet bits by driving though the wet bit and not getting stuck 🤣
What screw drive type? hexagon socket head? Thanks for the tip!!!!
@joseabejarano. I think it is a hex socket. It was a while ago.
И окно не закрывается, будет вода в салон теч, надо чтобы в паз стекло поднималось
Tanks
more Videos of the CLS pls
Hi @970byEddy. Thanks for the comment, I'll have to wait until she breaks down, but if she does, I will make a video.
Does it work the opposite if I want to bring the window down just slightly ?
@SH-vw1ei Yes it does, but be careful. You might need to push the window down as you're unwinding the adjusters. It's possible that the regulator arm moves down and the window stays where it is. I hope that makes sense.
Well done for this video I’m exactly same as you working on my Car doing everything my self but not introduce on youtube to give all owners idea how to fix their cars and not to go and pay thousands dollar or euros pounds for no thing Even on youtube mechanics or garages doing videos and so they complicating things that is not true Once wall done simple easy
@rasimpeposhi5765 Thanks. I hope my video was helpful. You can save a lot of money if you can do these jobs yourself.
Promo'SM 🤷
Watch ya back Allan with those big boolers😂
good job:) is it necessary to replace both side if just one spring gone? kind regards
Non Omnes. Some people say you should replace both, but I haven't had any problem with the other side. In this part of the world it's usually frost or one of the many potholes in the road that cause a spring to break.
I’m actually doing one right now with the v8 5.0… and might just pull the engine with the torque converter now that I’m seeing this. Hard to get to those torque converter bolts ..😅
I hope it all goes well for you.
That ford diesel is a problem
It certainly seems to be. Prone to crankshaft issues.
@@61special and for a long time the fact that landrover didnt drop it for the 3.6 just shows how much they want to improve the name of the brand the 3.6 has its problems to but selling that 3ltr to people with a known problem is a joke
I am doing Engine swap body on at the moment in my Discovery 3 TDV6. This way looks quicker. Engine should go in tomorrow all things going well.
Hi Jamie Boyd Music. I hope all goes well for you. It was our first time taking the body off and it was below freezing, which didn't help. It's not that difficult to take the body off, providing you have a lift. Our donor engine was out of a Jaguar so there was quite a lot of work swapping all the ancillaries over. Good luck.
Same as you I used a Ford Territory Engine so there was a lot of swapping over. All went well. The hardest part was getting the first couple of transmission bolts on and making sure we didn’t jam up the torque converter. Once that happened. I fitted the driver side engine mount (generator/alternator side) and it was pretty easy from there. The heat shields under the front guards caused a bit of anxiety. LOL I am a month or so down the track now and just towed a 2.5T Caravan 120km 2 days ago and it pulled like a train. Love my Discovery!
Glad to hear it all went well. We had a problem with losing coolant...we'd left off one of the radiator hose clips, but found it before she over heated. She's done a couple of thousand trouble free miles, much of that towing a tri-axle trailer.
