He's been living for over 7 centuries and has been watching mortals from above and decided out of nowhere to come up with a plan after seeing dinosaurs kill themselves. Zamasu most likely has seen or heard threats in his universe that has threatened the Kaioshin realm that he has lived in...He should've went rogue a long time ago. Zamasu is a Tubi sensui. Jiren is a temu toguru.

You forgot one of the other reason for Zamasu going rogue was Trunks messing around with flow of time and creating different timeline. Both are equaling important.

Interesting analysis, I see where you are coming from and your ideas are really dope, but I wasn't that mad that Goku wasn't that involved because Zamasu is main character in this arc. Yes him and Goku barely interacting in the manga is disappointing but I like the aspect of how it shows Zamasu's hypocrisy when it comes to own ideals. Vegeta should have definitely done more think arcs, his family are one of the driving force of this arc. I mostly think the story is about Zamasu honestly because he makes some pretty good point and the heroes don't have that much of an argument to counter it.

@ oh definitely, there’s no doubt about that. I especially like the focus on Zamasu that IS present in both mediums, I just think it could have been done better and more respectfully to Trunks, because his timeline is the true timeline and it’s sort of a really tragic way for it to end because of Goku rather than because of Vegeta or Gohan. The emotional impact on Trunks would have hit that much harder if it were one of those two people. I also think that as much of a main character Zamasu is, that clearly Trunks is the main character of this arc (or should be) as it’s his timeline being messed with. Another way I would have done the Goku Black arc, is the possibility that this future trunks is the Trunks of the timeline we follow, having found the old Time Machine and gone back in time to get help from the Z Fighters because of a problem in his future, same as in Z. It is later revealed that it’s not Goku Black, but Goten Black, and this version of Goten became evil due to resentment of Goku either training too much, or forcing Goten to train to be the best, which then at least involved Goku beyond just his body. In this future, Goten might have achieved SSJ Rose as a completely new form with a supreme mystery, and instead of wiping out mortals and times, he’s dedicated himself to becoming the Strongest There Ever Was. It gives us Canon God Trunks, or maybe even canon SSJ4 throughout the arc, and at the end, Goku decides to be a better father (not that he’s a bad father, just that his training often takes precedence over his family. This develops Goku as a still fun-loving, but now careful to not make a terrible mistake, person. Plus it gives Goten and Trunks more to do, which is a bonus because they should be more involved). I know this is a huge comment, but really I’m just trying to point out how a great arc in Dragon Ball could have been many times better.

@ I can see where you’re coming from but you basically described a whole different arc 😭. It’s not the first time I heard about the Goten Black theories and they do make sense and have potential but Zamasu will always be more interesting to me. The concept of a rogue Supreme Kai is just genius, it’s something we never got in dragon ball and it’s done really well imo.

@ I think it’s done very well, just that it could have been done better and with a character that contributes more to the plot than Zamasu didn’t like him for being strong and mortal. It would have been neat as well if it actually showed Zamasu and Black killing and hunting down G.O.D.s or other Supreme Kais since him killing the G.O.D.s is not going to happen realistically. I know this technically still happens, it would have just been nice to see. Or even for the TOP to have happened, and then the Goku Black Arc takes place in the main timeline with Zamasu killing off the fighters of the other universes, and characters like Jiren showing up and requiring help from U7 because it’s the only thing left (in this timeline).

Oh yea the potential for this arc was off the chart for sure. So many plot point were talk about but never shown which is a little disappointing honestly. It could have been a huge saga with three arc to tie everything back together.

The anime is hella slow, but I mostly covered the manga which has way better pacing, give it a chance.

Yea we need them to adapt the full manga. To many GOATED moments in the manga are not animated which is a crime.

As was actually curious as to why because as someone who got into persona through 5-and it became one of my most important games as an adult-persona 4 actually became my favorite.

I can see what you mean, the dialogue option probably should have been better, but I don't agree with the Yosuke take. Namatame was still the prime suspect before anyone though about Adachi. In his mind Yosuke thinks that he's facing the one that killed his friend (Saki Konishi) and Nanako earlier, it's definitely a reckless decision but with everything he's been going I think it fits.

@@NobuKage404 Part of me gets that, it was a culmination of his grief, seemingly their only opportunity at seeing justice, and they're hotblooded teenagers. I guess it's more of a problem I have with the structure of the game. The game builds Yosuke up as the driving force of the Investigation Team, carrying the reasoning and theory-crafting, right up until you hit a dead end and need Naoto's help, but most of that burden is only cast on him because the Protagonist can't talk. In the anime adaptation, a lot of Yosuke's clever musings become Yu's lines instead. And as I mentioned earlier, it's like the worst part of every Ace Attorney game, where _you, the player, know_ what point you're supposed to be making, but the game makes you play charades and 20 questions instead, with no opportunity to steer the conversation in that direction, because from a narrative standpoint the main character doesn't know and is flying by the seat of his pants. I think they also intentionally made that dialogue chain a mess, because they wanted most players to experience the bad ending at least once (because they were too chicken to kill Nanako for real, like all the other things they deemed "too dark for P4"). Whatever the intended experience, watching that scene 2 or 3 times before looking up a guide just frustrated me, and kneecapped my emotional investment in anything prior to the true ending cutscene. Picture that scene from the Valentine's day episode of Spongebob, where Patrick is glaring at his own hand while a montage of fun things happens around him.

Absolutely agree, the game fucks around and makes it confusing especially with shitty dialogue option they give during that scene and the Nanako subplot lowkey pissed me off, it was obviously done to get a reaction out the team and the player, but her being alive based on Namatame survival is dumb, her being exposed to the TV world long enough was enough of reason but linking it to Namatame was stupid. In retrospect you kinda right about everything, I still think it's great for Yosuke's character but they are so many unanswered question that it's pretty obvious to the player that Namatame is not the killer. The tonal issues in the game is all over, the game to pussy to kill Nanako and is trying to trick to get the bad ending which sucks.
