The Most Underrated Rum Brand: Chairman’s Reserve
Переглядів 565Місяць тому
Chairman’s Reserve is a brand produced by Saint Lucia Distillers. They are bringing to market some of the best rum, and two few consumers recognize the greatness of what they’re doing. These are masterfully blended between column and pot-stilled rums and bottled without adulteration. If you’ve walked by their bottles on the shelves of a liquor store or away from asking for a taste of your favor...

Tasting a $1200 Bottle of Rum (Flor de Caña 30 Year)
Dropping a piece of cork in does not ruin or "cork" a bottle of wine let alone rum or or other distilled spirit. The term "corked" refers to a bottle being stored improperly allowing for oxidation of the drink, or a cork deteriorating into the bottle over a long period of time due to improper storage. In a situation where you break a cork or accidentally push it into the bottle just decant the bottle and then use one of the many techniques or tools available for removing the cork, if it's a spirit feel free to put it in the same bottle and add new cork that fits.
🤓🤓🤓
You corky amateur, I love you hahhahaha
That could have gone better...
Agreed! 😮💨
Anyone else notice that his name is Sean Cork and they’re dealing with… a cork.
It was not planned like that haha
I feel like this has to have happened to you more than five times. You did a good job saving it, though. This happened to a bottle of McCallen 21 years I had, and I had to bust out the coffee filter to get any of the cork out. How does it taste compared to the 46% bottle
There is no comparison to the other bottle. The rum in the last consignment is from distilleries that no longer exist and the liquid is from the 1950s and 1960s. 😜
How did you come up with the recipe?
Which one? I’ve got three cocktails in this video 🤓
Thanks for the history lesson along with great Rome selection!❤
Thanks for watching ❤️
How’d you score that Havana club bottle, good sir?
Have someone bring you back a bottle from abroad 😋
The Cognac finished and the 65% Full Proof have my attention. This is definitely rum around the world 🌎. I love it. I wonder if anyone in Russia or Eastern Europe is making rum.
As far as I know, there is no Russian and rum. I do have, however, Rum in the collection from Ireland, the Netherlands, and Madeira (Portugal). I have also tried Rum from Scotland and England !
@@therumchampion I've seen and tried the rums from England. Scotland has me intrigued 🤔.
Wow, great to see Jasper's Mix trendy again. Another popular UA-camr just posted a similar video two weeks ago 😉 ... The credit for Jasper's recipe becoming public should go to the late great rum collector, Stephen Remsberg. He used to tell the story of drinking at Jasper's bar in the '70s and Jasper writing it down for him. Stephen later shared it with both Beachbum Berry and Ted Haigh, who was actually the first to publish it (along with the punch recipes) in Vintage Spirits and Forgotten cocktails back in 2009. Stephen first shared it publicly at Tales of the Cocktail in 2008, which is timely. That was roughly 16 years ago this week. I think I'll go toast both Stephen and Jasper with potent punch.
Tik tok format for expensive liquor. Who is this video for? The zoomer doom scrolling 10 years from now?
Most of the bottles shown here are less than $100 lol. Thanks for the commenting! 🥳🥳🥳
@@therumchampion the first two bottles you showed were ECS and an aged Neisson. Under $100 is not the budget of people buying captain Morgan was what I meant.
@@therumchampionECS, neisson vieux, Holmes kay, worthy park 12, El Dorado 21, Hampden great house, barbancourt 15, pere labat, 1931, Bacardi special reserve, rolling fork, Blackadder. Do you know how much captain Morgan you can get for the price of these?
I'm 42, and I'm not sure, but this has TikTok vibes to it. Are you exposing me to TikTok without my consent 😂😂? I never tried Lebat. Is it that good?
I get good engagement on my meme that are “TikTok” content here. Trying everything and seeing what sticks 😜 PS Labat is fantastic stuff
Is this available in the US?
It will be soon!
@@therumchampion awesome! Please keep us posted. Sounds tasty!
I've always had this idea for a series called Rums of the World. It would be a journey around the continents based on rum. While I don't have the means to pull it off, you do. I think it would be a cool series.
Great minds think alike! I am doing this so far on the To the Rum! podcast. my cohost and I have already talked with Rum distilleries in Vietnam, Boston, Colorado, Vanuatu, and Cambodia! I do think that it does make sense to have a RumX of the world section on the UA-cam channel as well. Thank you for the advice. ❤️
@therumchampion Now I have to check this out. When are you guys gonna do Costa Rica. I'm going there in a few weeks and need to know what to look out for. Selfishly, of course.
How cool! I wish I could get my hands on a bottle! I’ll have to keep an eye out while traveling! Thanks for the heads-up!
I prefer to save my $1200 for now😂
The best kind of $1200 rum is the kind that I get for free 🤓
Correct but your an arrogant incell
This rum will have tourists passout on the ground at cricket games lol
Using this rum in a daiquiri is dangerous. I had had to one night and I swear to God that I got more sober instead of more drunk lol
I want to go there lol 😂 hopefully 🤞 soon
I highly recommend it! This was one of the coolest rum experiences that I have had
Fun fact: 1931 was it's own thing for the longest time - the top of the heap, considered more "premium" than Admiral Rodney. Only in the last 5-7 years (?) or so was it rebranded as "Chairman's Reserve 1931". It was also previously a different blend every year. It is my favourite continuously produced rum on the planet.
I have the 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th and the now 1931. Found a few bottles and grabbed the ones I didn’t have. Now I need to find the elusive 1st edition
Damn good facts.
🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼
I've been trying to find that Worthy Park, but I see the silver. I'm coming to the West Coast soon and I hope to find it there.
Chips Liquor in San Diego ships to most states!!
I feel like I could have made this video XD My ADHD has me constantly looking for tools I forgot to grab. "Shit, I forgot to grab mint", "Crap, where's my strainer. No not that one, the other strainer", "Where the heck is my squeezer?!".
From one person with ADHD to another, I get it 🤣🤣🤣
How long this keep for?
7ish days or so!
It's definitely useful. I watched the 10-minute video you did. Great idea making this a short.
Wanting to get more eyeballs on that video!
In what cocktails do you use it ?
This is a short. You can check out my video that I posted a couple of days ago where I only walk you through how to make them mix, but also include three cocktails that you can make with it. ua-cam.com/video/uJ-yAIPnd7E/v-deo.html
I always have some jaspers stock in the fridge in the summer! Jaspers rum punch is a great, quick cocktail!
Right?! So easy to make and provides such versatility!
Hamilton 151 is the best 151 and the False Idol 151 version is great also.
Dont sleep on Diamond 151. Pussers 151 is the best 151 Demerara IMO. Sucks it’s not available here in the US.
the new Worthy Park Overproof is good and it's a better sipper than mixer and almost too good to mix but the price makes it cheap enough. super clean no acetone notes
So happy it finally got to LA!
Outstanding. I will try to quarter the recipe to try it out!
Do it! Let me know what you think!
Thanks for the fun video! I need to give this a try!
Let me know when you do and what drinks you make!
I bought over 30 bottles yesterday. I agree with this video, except for the “I know I shouldn’t part”. Ha ha! I hope you are well, Rum Champion!
The shouldn’t part for me comes in when I look at my bank account and say, “I spent how much?!” 🤣🤣
I'm definitely going to make the stock mix. I love the diversification of the content. I look at all those bottles on the back bar and can't wait for the next video. You've got so much to teach.
There’s a lot for all of us to learn together!
How long does the stock mix typically last in the fridge?
7 days, give or take 👍🏻
@@therumchampion that's because of the lime juice, right? Could you do acid adjusted water with citric and malic acid to replace the lime so it lasts longer?
The stirring face 😂😂😂
Anything worth doing is worth doing right :)
The third one sounds most interesting to me. Giffard is amazing. I have their banane, abricot and pineapple liquours and they are all amazing.
The apricot plays perfectly with everything! Apricot is also criminally underutilized in cocktails
Well, we have something in common :-D
I don’t hate it though 🤣🤣
i didn’t mean to take up all your sweet time, i’ll give it right back to you one of these days
Always got time for the Rum Scout 😎
As it happens, I have both (the calvados and 109) coming my way at the moment :-D
Awesome! Let me know when you open then both!
The best
🙌🏼🙌🏼
Where'd you get that bottle of El Dorado LBI/DHE!! It's literally impossible to find anywhere! That's a magic bottle right there.
DDL sent it to me a few months back. They bottles are being shipped now and en route to the US 😜
@@therumchampion oh maaaan! I got so desperate actually that I special ordered a bottle from the east coast, so I have one in storage now, but! If they ship more, I'll super get another one so I can crack it open and try that bad boy for myself!
Awesome!!! Let me know when you crack it open!
For such a tall bottle, there is always space at the bottom shelf for it. I always assume it was vodka because I only ever see the white one. Now that I know it is rum I will give it a try.
Their white rum is pretty neutral. But the dark and 151 dark especially shine in cocktails.
Looks like someone’s got a case of the rumsies 😝
Hahaha. 😂😅😂😅 Your reaction to it is epic!! 😂😅
Thanks for watching! That one is definitely not a sipper
Mythical youtube shorts pull😂
I recently got a bottle of letter of marquee thinking it was bourbon. Not bad but it hits you way more aggressively 😅
They’re all higher proof!
The music has me geeking
In a good way I hope! Initially wanted to have it be some goofy/quirky tune. But then I settled on the Mexican standoff lol
This literally happened to me this past Saturday. They wanted whiskey and bourbon, but I knew some of my Four Square offerings would suit them, but they refused.
They refused because they know they’ll start becoming rum obsessed 🤪
For me, St. Lucia Distillers rums have always been a "ignore people, drink what you like" rum for me.
Chairmans Reserve would easily be my favourite brand from the English speaking Caribbean.
It’s amazing stuff! 🇱🇨🇱🇨
Wow 🎉I want some 😂
I can make that happen!
