So the American version is black & the UK 50th Anniversary Ed. is dark red & grey? Are they exactly the same inside tho? I think I prefer the american

Fantastic work, you missed out the Enterprise closing credits “Archer’s Theme” - as much as “faith of the heart”/“where my heart takes me” fits the series (in hindsight) I will always feel the other fits the collective much better

Honestly, I unironically absolutely adore the lower decks theme. Despite being for a comedy series, it still has the same gravitas as themes like Voyager or DS9. I also really enjoy the fun little mirror universe intro they made for Enterprise, and its wild that SNW is the first one since TNG to have the "to boldly go" monologue in the titles

From the 3 "space is the final frontier..." speeches, Stewart's delivery is by far the best. He manages to convey the grandness and the epicness of the Enterprise's journey like no other. His Shakespearean training is showing. Then, the second best is Shatner. He too tries to convey the feeling of epicness, but he is far less successful than Stewart because he lacks the grandeur. Finally, third and by far the worst of the tree, is Mount's rendering of the speech. What a cold-hearted delivery! hey Anson, you are not going to the office, you are embarqing on the greatest journey mankind ever had! try to be a bit less cold, my man! Now, on to the musical pieces themselves. Every person have their own tastes, so the following is totally subjective: For me, the TNG's rendition of Goldsmith's Star Trek musical theme is the best. It fully conveys the spirit of, the epicness and the grandeur of, the mission, space, and the importance of it for mankind. Coupled with Stewart's unparalleled delivery of the speech, I get goosebumbs every time I hear it. I find the rest a big 'meh'...poor man's Star Trek...

Spot on analysis: another thing I would say is that Japan people's attitude toward foreign people has been varied. It's easy to draw a line in one's head between Japan's isolationist past the the problems with xenophobia it has today, but that again implies that the Japanese are unchanging, thereby feeding orientalist tropes. I see a lot of ideas in Shogun that really originated in the postwar era and America's occupation of Japan. I think there's a general failure on everyone's part to see the ways Japan's history is shaped by material conditions rather than cultural values or a sense of national identity.

55年ほど前のことでしょうか、白黒画面で初めて見たのがTOS、バルカン人の耳は少年の記憶に強く残りスポックが大好きになりました。映画などを経てTNGが始まり、名門シェイクスピア劇団俳優のパトリック・スチュワート、カーク艦長とは対照的なキャラのピカード艦長に引き込まれます。そして7万光年の彼方から地球への帰還を目指すVOY、ジェインウェイ艦長,セブンオブナイン、ドクターを始め”BORG”、最強の”生命体8472”など、多くの人気キャラが登場、最終回まで夢中になりました。さらに物語はTOSから遡り地球初のワープを成功させ、バルカンの監督下に置かれながらも宇宙へ旅立つアーチャー船長、トゥポルとホシサトウもとても素敵でした。スタートレック：ピカードではセブンが復帰、ジェインウエイ艦長はちょっと難しいかもしれませんが、是非トゥポルとホシサトウにはエンタープライズに復帰してほしいです。

DS9 theme really hits different

From ToS to Enterprise, so many memories of watching Star Trek growing up. I mostly remember watching Voyager and Enterprise but also watching the series that my parents grew up watching as well. I was born in 1996, which was around the time that Voyager was still airing.

The Discovery theme is very beatiful in my opinion. This series had so much potential, and they messed it up...

The original Star Trek was the spark that took hold in the kindling of my mind as a kid, but it was The Next Generation that set the forest on fire and hooked me to Star Trek for life. Star Trek is the reason I am a science and engineering nerd, and I am not afraid to admit it in the least. And as I get older, I have more reasons to love Star Trek.
